Yep, I was just going to type that, 'til I read your last post. An older "passive" sub that takes a regular speaker wire connection is powered by the receiver, where as a newer powered subwoofer that takes an RCA cable has its own amplifier built in.

Sounds good, but it will never happen. This isn't anything new...seems like all we've been hearing about for the past twenty years is how school lunches and PE need to get better, we need healthier kids, blah blah blah. I remember in the '80s people complained that the Soviets had much harder physical fitness standards, but nothing was ever done then. What is going to change now? This is why if I ever have kids, I won't be sending them to public school. They don't improve, they regress constantly. It's all controlled by lobbyists and teachers' unions, and nothing ever gets better. The children are basically an after-thought.

The time for nice happy solutions is over. It's time for a clampdown on this problem. Do we really want this to keep going on, so that in 20 years the Southwestern US is overrun with non-English speakers who haven't absorbed into the US culture, and will be wanting autonomy or a merger with Mexico? BTW, I am not against people coming here to work and make an honest living, but it has to be metered. Do you really think it's only nice honest Mexicans coming through the Southern border? There is strong evidence that many Arabs and Chinese, among others, have come through as well.

In personal video game related news, I got a Nintendo Gamecube for my birthday yesterday. Yeah, I know it's an older system and the Revolution is coming out soon, blah blah blah. It's fun to have a system with games my wife and I can play together, though. So far I only have the Midway Classics compilation (the one with Gauntlet, Rampage, Smash TV, etc), and Mario Allstar Baseball. I would like to pick up Day of Reckoning 2 pretty soon. Any other "must have recommendations?"

You'd think some indy wrestler somewhere would've already done a gimmick like "Steve Hitler", somewhere at some time.

Yeah, Skinner was around for a full year, at least, and was in at least one Royal Rumble, maybe even two. It's too bad they had to saddle a decent worker like Steve Keirn with such a bland gimmick. I mean, they never really played up the whole outdoorsman gimmick he had, other than his stupid outfit. I'm pretty sure I remember seeing him get squashed by the Undertaker on an early episode of Monday Night RAW.

What was with Bigelow's relatively short first run in WWF, anyway? He came in, seemed like he was super hot, and then was gone after like, one year. Then he went to the NWA and didn't stay long there, either.

Seems like TNA and Spike need to get on the same page a little bit more as far as scheduling issues and what Spike expects from TNA as far as ratings and such.

I think everyone acknowledges that taking the title off Edge so quickly was idiotic. I don't think Edge is the kind of guy who is going to get demoted for speaking his mind. I mean, he didn't get fired after screwing Lita...so it seems like he can get away with pretty much anything. I think it's safe to say that after this feud with Foley wraps up, he should be back in the title hunt.

Yeah, but history is proven that the fans will pop for a guy who was heatless during his last run, if he's been gone for a couple years.

You'd think there would be some kind of limitation against cops going into bars and just issuing citations without any reason for coming in the first place. It's one thing if they've received a noise complaint or something, but it sounds like they were just trying to fill a quota or something.

Speaking of relatively obscure '80s managers, what was the deal with Oliver Humperdink? He came in, managed Bam Bam Bigelow (for some reason), and then I think left at the same time as Bigelow. Then he had that short run in WCW as "Big Daddy Dink" managing the Freebirds at probably their lowest point.

This really comes back to the failure of our court system to properly punish people. I think it's been shown time and time again that you can't reform criminals into decent people. It just doesn't happen. If we're not going to execute people in this country, at least put them away for life without parole or put them in work camps so they can pay back society in some fashion.

Yeah, but wasn't that around the time Kronus was teaming up with New Jack? "The Gangstinators" or whatever...

Personally I've never minded Test that much, since he's not as useless as most guys his height. Heck, I remember being at a RAW taping in the spring of '98 and seeing this tall guy in purple trunks working a dark match, and thinking he looked like he had a lot of potential. He was billed as "Andrew Martin." I am wondering what they will do with Test, now that he's coming back officially. At first glance, it seems like Smackdown could maybe use him more since they need some star power (and like it or not, Test is someone most fans will recognize). However, I'd think he could get lost in the shuffle with all the other big guys like Lashley and Mark Henry. If he goes to RAW, what do they do with him? I'd love to see him come in as a face who tries to be a thorn in Triple H's side, playing off their past history. Of course, that would probably be too interesting, so we'll probably see him come in as a generic big man heel for Vince to use against HBK or whoever else is pissing him off that week. He'll probably be used like Kane was a couple years ago. "CENA, you're pissing me off, with your lack of respect for authority! So tonight, you're going to face...TEST!...in a NO HOLDS BARRED MATCH!!!" (crowd goes mild)

Apparently parts of the new Afghan constitution are based on Islamic Shariah law, which in strictest interpretations calls for the death of any Muslim who turns to another religion. See, again, this just goes to show these people are still barbarian. We need to quit pretending that they are as civilized as the West.

You kidding? Bischoff and 3MW showing up during the Billy and Chuck wedding was awesome usage. I still think cocky arrogant Bischoff with 3MW would have been perfect. Yeah, that one part of the angle was cool, with Bischoff unmasking as the preacher (which I seriously did not see coming). However, overall the whole angle was incredibly embarassing for the promotion (the Billy and Chuck wedding).

The problem with 3MW is they were around during one of the lowest points in recent WWE/WWF history. That whole year was like "um, we have no competition anymore, so we're just going to grasp at straws."

I know "Step by Step" had to have had a couple "special episodes." One I can think of is where one of the girls has bad stomach pains and the dad assumes she's faking, but the mom figures out she has to go to the hospital, and she ends up having appendicitis. Not sure if that qualifies, though.
