Boy, cawthon, you sure like to take Scott Keith to task, it seems...not that there's anything wrong with that. I agree about Scott's new rants...there's been some pretty big errors, but nothing fatal.

You have to factor in Rena Mero, too...my understanding is they're back together and get to travel together in Japan, which WWE might not necessarily allow if Brock were to come back (unless they made Sable and on-screen character again). Basically like others said, WWE needs Brock more than he needs them, at this point.

That's what pisses me off about these shows, and WWE's "Legends" too...a lot of these guy are people that either happened to work in WCW or WWF during the Monday Night Wars, or in WWE's case, were basically journeymen workers during the '80s and early '90s. I'm sorry, but someone like Jim Duggan or Koko B. Ware isn't a legend.

Well, I think the answer to that is simply that the "regular" versions of the cable channels will eventually be dropped...ie TNT-HD will simply become TNT, etc., thus freeing up more bandwidth again. People with regular analog TVs will have to watch down-converted versions (through a cable box or converter box) of those channels. I think we make it sound more complicated than it really is. Basically what the average joe schmuck-face needs to understand, is that they shouldn't buy an analog TV ever again (and the government has even come out and said this), but if they don't want to get a digital TV set, they will need a converter box if they don't have cable or satellite (and this only applies to like, fifteen percent of the country).

It's amazing to me how sometimes people are willing to stick around that long for crummy service. When out with my parents, I know we've gotten up and left a restaurant if a waitress hasn't come around promptly. Once when I was about 15 or so our family was driving through Lake Geneva one morning and decided to stop somewhere for breakfast. The place, in the middle of town, was basically deserted at like 10 AM or so on a weekend morning. Well, some of the tables weren't clean...waitress comes out and seats us, then goes to the back and starts having an argument with another woman in the back, and we can hear the whole thing! Shes comes back out after a few minutes and my dad says, "I'm sorry, we have to get going...your restaurant isn't clean." He left a couple bucks for the coffee he'd been served and we left. -
Something else I was wondering. When Chris Benoit was introduced as the fourth member of the Four Horsemen in 1995, was there any real build up? All I remember was seeing a backstage segment on WCW Saturday Night where Arn Anderson and Brian Pillman were talking, and Arn introduced Benoit as the newest Horseman. At the time I hadn't had the chance to follow WCW much because I was at prep school, and didn't really no who he was yet. (Didn't have the internet at our house yet, either).

Well, to be fair, the cable/sat companies as well as the TV manufacturers and the retailers have done a pretty terrible job overall explaining the true benefits of HD. Most people just think that they're getting a wide screen and that it will automatically make all their TV shows "HD digital" or whatever. Couple that with the general lack of HD programming overall, and it's a mess right now. Hey, remember when Jan. 1 of 2007 was supposed to be the final conversion date for DTV? Now it's 2009 or something...wonder when we'll finally get the full DTV signals that were promised to us.

Well, it will help them out as far as increasing the FOX empire, I guess. FYI, the new network from the WB/UPN merger is called "The CW." Man, I remember when channel 18 in Milwaukee was still in indy, before they joined WB. It really wasn't that great...cartoons in the afternoon, syndicated shows and then usually a movie from 7-9 or something every night. -

I agree that the Bush administration has basically been playing the fear card non-stop since 9/11. It's an easy way to get people to go along with their policies. We basically have to accept that there's always going to be some manageable level of terrorism we'll be faced with. We can't check every person flying in and out of the country and every piece of cargo coming in. The best way to fight terrorism is to revise our foreign policy where we pull out of any non-democratic Middle Eastern country and bolster our allies in the area. Accept that we can't make every single enemy into a democracy for the time being. Then, let's go back to letting America be America, the land of the free, and set the example for everyone else. Go back to being the nation the world admires and not the nation the world fears. -
Kerry won the first debate...it was proven by the fact that basically no commentators, even GOP shills, had the balls to say Bush won it the following day. Some of them claimed it was a draw or Bush did ok, but _no one_ was saying Bush beat Kerry in that debate. Kerry lost because he overall ran a terrible campaign and didn't do enough to explain his policies. End of story.

You probably can't count USWA and WCCW because the champions basically only wrestled in their own territories. I know WCCW was syndicated to an extent, but they never had PPVs, and I don't think USWA was widely syndicated, either. Like Jerry Lawler once said to Kerry Von Erich "The World's a whole lot bigger than Texas."

Sounds like we can look forward to another exciting season of Barry Bonds, Yankees, and Red Sox coverage from ESPN. Supposedly Bonds is going to be finished after this season, if his body isn't feeling too good...at least that's what he claimed in an interview last week. Personally I would feel some sense of satisfaction seeing him go down with an injury and never break Hank Aaron's record.

Between stuff like this and Stacey's stories of not making enough money to cover travel expenses, it makes you wonder how many wrestlers out there would actually want to work for WWE anymore.

I personally have pretty much always enjoyed JBL's ring style...yeah, he's not a high flyer, and he's not flashy, but he works his style well...he's a southern style brawler, and he pulls it off. I was skeptical of his main event push, but quickly grew to enjoy his gimmick. I think he's one of the best interviews in WWE, currently.

I want to know where that town is where teachers make $60K a year, because my wife wasn't making half that after three years of teaching high school, so I want to move to wherever that town is. Because I'm sure once she gets tenure the salary will magically double... I love how we put such an emphasis on "the importance of good schools and a strong education" in this country, but barely pay teachers enough to get by.

I know it's not the Constitution, but I'm surprised more people don't bring up that this is in the Declaration of Independence. Personally, I don't think it will be possible for abortion to ever be fully illegal in this country, because there's too many people who feel it's the right of a woman to terminate the life of another person growing inside her, and the conservatives in this country who are supposedly agaisnt abortion lack the will to do anything substantive about it.
