Rumor has it that the Yankees could offer the Brewers Melky Cabrera, Wilson Betemit, and a pitcher for CF Mike Cameron. I kind of doubt it will happen, but would be interesting. I think it would all depend on if the Brewers could get any kind of decent pitcher in the deal.

Wrestler/Belt Combos That Didn't or Wouldn't Look Good
Dobbs 3K replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in General Wrestling
You could probably put Flair up there with any tag belt, too. Hell, even Flair with the WWF Championship always looked weird to me. -
Technically he's no one's president for another two and a half months. George W. Bush is STILL YOUR PRESIDENT! Woooooooooooo!
-
This answer is going to seem like double talk...but I think it's not so much that a black/non-white man was elected president in 2008, but it's that after so many years of talking about "What if?", it finally happened.
-
Yeah, I did see a bit of that. He started talking about the whole country needing to get behind the new president, etc.

So how did Fox News really react? I didn't catch much of it...whenever I flipped over, I do agree that they seemed pretty "muted." Can't say they seemed overtly sad or angry about the outcome though. I'm sure most of them realized what was going to happen, inevitably.

Well, it would make sense for the Jericho character to have at least one ally, now that he's champion again.

Wrestler/Belt Combos That Didn't or Wouldn't Look Good

I really wish they would replace the spinner belt already. It looks like a toy or something, and makes it seem like whoever has it is a place holder for Cena. They should bring back the WWF Championship that Haws had a picture of above, or do a variation on that, at least. -
Let's Talk About... The Apter Mags
Dobbs 3K replied to Cheech Tremendous's topic in General Wrestling
I know in the couple years before, they said Rick Rude had one the first one, and Vader the second one. They noted that both guys were well out of any title picture by the end of each of those years. They probably went with Michaels as the winner to rectify that, since he was in line to soon win the WWF Title and was clearly being poised to be the new #1 in the WWF. -

A DDT can still be effective, you just have to put a twist on it. I mean, Raven was using a leaping version as an effective finisher, and Foley had his double arm DDT that was still over, in the earlier part of this decade. It's basically inevitable in wrestling that all finishers will eventually be relegated to being transition or set up moves. Back in the day, a side Russian legsweep or sleeper hold was death, too. The same happened with the superplex and piledriver. I do wish once a while in WWE, matches would end with something that wasn't a guy's signature finisher, or some fluke roll up. It would be nice if guys would win once in a while with a surprise finisher like the superplex or flying cross body, etc. (And yes, I know the cross body is Carlito's brother's finisher right now). -
Obama isn't going to do something as controversial as call for Bush's trial. I think Obama and the Democrats in Congress will want to move past Bush's legacy quickly.
-
Bush probably just wants to relax and enjoy retirement at this point. I do think he could make a killing on an autobiography as well. The only semi-governmental role I could see making sense for him would be if he could talk Obama into appointing him as some sort of special envoy to Africa or something, since he is popular over there and actually did do some good for that continent in terms of providing aid.

I think people don't want to deny basic civil rights to gays and lesbians, but they don't want to see them be "married". That's all it is. Anyway, this thread doesn't need to be about gay marriage. Any guesses on who Obama appoints to cabinet positions?

Boras came out saying Varitek deserves a basically ridiculous deal. Interestingly enough, the Dodgers are supposedly quite interested in Varitek, and may consider trading Russel Martin. I think that's idiotic, but whatever.

What a great night, last night was. By 10 PM CST, I could go to bed knowing America had made the right choice. Last night was a crushing landslide victory for Obama, in terms of the electoral college. As of right now, McCain didn't even get 150 electoral votes. America was fed up with the fake conservative (aka neo-conservative) movement, and it was time to punish the Republican Party for the last eight years of incompetence and greed. I can't wait to hear all the right-wing venom spewers on the radio today, from the local likes of Charlie Sykes to the national people like Sean Hannity, trying to spin this as some sort of positive thing for the Republican Party to go through. The best thing for them would be to reject the wacko Christian fundamentalist influence, focus on basic economic and defense issues, and return to being the party in favor of small budgets and small government. I don't know if that will happen, but if they want to blame someone for this loss, they can look at President Bush and his ilk. As far as them looking towards 2012, Sarah Palin is damaged goods. I feel most Americans decided they were sick of having leaders who can't give good answers to basic questions, or come up with original ideas on how to lead, in the executive branch of our government. Sorry, conservatives, but if you trot out the female version of George W. Bush to run against Obama in ought-twelve, she's going to get destroyed. At least we would get more wildly entertaining debates like the Biden/Palin squash. Oh, and as far as the California thing...I don't want to hear any more of the BS "Most Americans are in favor of gay marriage." If this thing passed in California, it goes to show that the majority of mainstream America is not in favor of it. I do feel now, after much though, that it is a states right issue. This despite the fact that I usually hate the "Let's pass the buck on down", type attitude to governance. Let's see more of these proposals come up for voting by the citizens in each state, then we can get this debate put to bed for good.

Ah...I almost forgot about Comedy Central's coverage tonight.

One of the faces on CNN just said GOP insiders are saying this thing is over.

I think that would be funny...he could go up top for the swanton...then jump down and apply a simple sleeper hold to get the win. -
Let's Talk About...Diesel's WWF World title run

I agree. I liked it more than the Bret/HBK main event. -
You should have told her that you were drunk when you voted three weeks ago, and seen how she reacted to that. I really hate antiquated blue laws like that, though.
-
You've got the Marvins Jerk, there is no cure. I should probably figure out where my voting place is and vote huh? You can find out online pretty easily these days.

C2C used to be better when Art Bell was the host, before his semi-retirement.

Wrestler/Belt Combos That Didn't or Wouldn't Look Good
Dobbs 3K replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in General Wrestling
Yeah, I agree there. It was OK at first, but when it became clear that TNA would be nothing like the classic NWA, they should have updated the belt to something more modern. At least their current belt looks good. -
I just figure if Bush and the current Republican regime weren't going to do anything about it, why would McCain if he somehow gets elected? I would view the abortion issue the same way.

This game looks awesome, but I will probably hold off. I have a PC that should be able to run it, but I'm not sure how well. However, there's a good chance I could be getting a PS3 for Christmas (or shortly after), so I may just wait and get the PS3 version then.
