Supposedly Debra is still pretty good looking, but I kinda hope TNA doesn't use her. Gail Kim and Jackie Gayda hardly have anything to do between themselves, and I can't imagine them trying to cram in another female when they don't have a women's division or anything right now (and I don't want them to have a women's division, either).

My whole problem with Cena: He was doing fine on Smackdown. I think he fit in real well with the more "urban" feel of the show, and the kind of audience they were targeting. Then he suddenly comes to RAW with zero build up, and the fans have to accept him as the top champion, when Batista had been quite over in that role on RAW. Then, to make matters worse, he doesn't get any real kind of feud or angle to start with. He's just "there." So, WWE goes the Stone Cold root, and tries to start a feud between Cena and Bischoff. The only impetus for the whole angle is a shot of Cena and Bischoff arguing in the parking lot one Monday Night, with no explanation other than vague statements like "he doesn't want to play by Bischoff's rules", etc. Cena is then booked to be an Austin-like character, when really he's not supposed to be. The fans are tired of the same old, same old, so they boo him. Really, it's WWE's fault, not Cena's.

I miss WCW in that I miss having more alternatives to WWE, and being able to watch a bigger variety of wrestlers on TV in general. I miss WCW Saturday Night...just being able to watch midcarders and jobbers for two hours just because it was wrestling for wrestling's sake. I miss being able to turn to Nitro when RAW was bad, or during commercial breaks. I don't miss WCW because they deserved to go out of business because of how they ran themselves, and basically everything after 1999 was idiotic and mind numbingly insulting to my intelligence.

"Dont give me that 'bitter smarks' crap either, smarks still watch the WWE. I dont." Then how are you apparently so wise about the entire WWE roster, sickmovefiend?

Is Saturn still wrestling? I heard he got really messed up in a fight or something a while back. He was supposed to do Shane Douglas' ECW tribute show, but had to pull out because he wasn't even close to being ring ready, IIRC.

Is Carlito a better wrestler then we think?
Dobbs 3K replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in The WWE Folder
Wait, let me get this straight...you were just saying how unimpressive and "shit at what he does" Carlito is, but at the same time you would want him to go to TNA and wrestle what is a much faster, more physical style? You're contradicting yourself. You don't get to have it both ways. -
Brewers had a way better off-season than indicated by that chart (which I understand has admitted flaws). I don't understand how losing Helms and Branyan can be that big of a drop, since neither one was a regular starter. Helms had a great season as a DH, that's it. Branyan was pretty mediocre. Also, I dunno if Corey Koskie is accounted for, but he adds a lot of depth to the Brewers infield.

Only problem is I don't see Raven getting a World Title shot again anytime soon. I think Jarrett has his hands full with Christian Cage and Sting at the moment.

Along the same line, if the wrestler in question is someone WWE is actively pushing, than you must hate him. It's only cool to like "under appreciated" wrestlers, so you can complain about what an idiot Vince McMahon is for not using that wrestler properly, and pine for them to go to TNA so they can wrestle AJ Styles and Samoa Joe~~~!!! -

Yeah, exactly. People on this board act like Carlito is booking himself to be a cowardly heel. I'm sure he could wrestle fine if he was told to. No, he's not a Chris Benoit or HBK, but not every wresterl has to be. There's room for different styles and levels of talent. Duh. -
Yeah, that was awesome, right after they broke up.

I was surprised by that. I thought for sure something like Samoa Joe vs AJ Styles was going to win. I liked the show last night...really wish they'd get two hours (and I realize this topic has been re-hashed to death already), just because the show is almost too fast paced. They have to run angles simultaneous with matches, just to get everything in (Shannon Moore and AJ Styles running through the ring during Joe/Riley). - Abyss squash was entertaining. I liked his big moves. Kind of weird they brought in Jay Lethal just to be a jobber, since I was under the impression he's a pretty big deal in ROH and stuff. - Joe vs Riley was entertaining, but it is getting a little old seeing Joe do basically the same squash match week after week (Joe no sells opponents strikes, does a bunch of kicks, hits a senton, leaping knee in the corner, muscle buster, kokina clutch tap out, et al). - I was surprised by the music videos, but they were short and to the point (unlike WWE's which can drag on too long). Music was ok...at least it wasn't all Creed rip-off music. I'm really curious who Raven's opponent tonight will be. Sounds like it's "someone from Raven's past" give Meltzer's notes. - Main event was pretty good. I thought the ending with Sting's voiceover was a little cheesy, but it fits the storyline, and I understand them wanting to save his first appearance for the PPV. - One last thing...I'm really curious where they're going with this Jeff Jarrett/Jackie Gayda angle. The way they're building it up, it has to be something more than some lame soap opera-ish "they had an affair one time" or something, right? Overall, a solid show, IMO. TNA manages to milk every minute of their one hour a week, and it's working, given the amount of angles and guys they seem to get on week after week. I just really wish they'd get a two hour timeslot, hopefully on a week night, so I'd have more time to digest what's happened before the next segment.

You guys don't get it. Carlito isn't booked or supposed to be like Kurt Angle. He's not going to be out there wrestling 20-30 minute technical classics. He is a cowardly, chickenshit heel, who will use every dirty trick and cheating tactic to win. He's not supposed to be a dangerous fighter or a mat technician. He's Roddy Piper 2006 (hate to draw the obvious comparison, but it's true). That said, I do think he's better than what we've seen, given that a lot of people have said in interviews (Konnan, Jim Cornette, etc) that he can do a lot more than what he's shown in WWE thus far. -
When I was still in college I thought it would be awesome to buy one of those belts (not the really expensive ones, but the ones in like the $200-300 range). Then I realized that it would just be a fancy piece of faux leather sitting on my bedroom shelf, and there were other things I could spend my money on that would actually get used once in a while. Still, if you have the coin to buy one, go for it I guess.

My guess it that Flair will put up a fight, but Edge will end up slaughtering him in this match, to put him over as a despicable heel champion and further his "Rated R Superstar" persona. Flair will probably bleed all over and do a stretcher job, etc.

The whole division was what? Four guys? Seemed kind of idiotic to have a midget division on the same show where they have the Cruiserweights, like they need to make them look any smaller next to guys like JBL.
-
Just think, if Matt gets fired again and goes to TNA, it would be the Dudleys vs the Hardy Boys again, and Christian could just find a new partner if they want to do a three way tag feud. Weird. In the old days, the tag team guys that were over would be built into singles stars (Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels). Now I guess they get fired or quit and go to work for the competition.

Yeah...ever notice how in a lot of reality shows when they show a couple from the South, they often show interracial couples? I don't live in the South and don't know a lot of people from that area of the country, but acting like this is the 1890s and it's just a bunch of inbred Klansmen is just stupid.
-
Aside from the usual suspects like AJ Styles and Samoa Joe, I think Brock could match up well with a lot of TNA guys...Monty Brown might be an interesting opponent (granted, it probably wouldn't be a technical classic, but might have some neat spots). Christian Cage (I don't remember them meeting in WWE) would be another. It would also be fun to see Brock kill Jeff Jarrett in the ring.
-
I hope he goes to work for TNA just to spite WWE (just because Lesnar could put on some really good matches against a lot of TNA guys). Granted, they probably can't afford him, but who knows?
-
I'd say if they're really going to start doing TNA house shows, they would have to use a six sided ring, because that's one of the main things that makes TNA, TNA.

Because when I think "beefy, loud, American wrestler," I think of Rey Misterio.

Well, Undertaker is still popular, like it or not...and frankly, Angle vs Undertaker would mean Undertaker gets at least one good WM match before he retires.

Surprised no one pointed out that "David Espada" looks like "Bigfoot" in the classic film of him walking through the woods. Also, I'm pretty sure the "soccer ball" is Hitler's brain, and if look at the dark patches of ground in the first pic, you can see demons coming up from hell (look in the lower right, you'll see their faces).
