I've heard Italy right now is like the US circa 1998 in terms of how popular wrestling is.

Same old wrestling urban legends...you know, Lita is a slut, the Hardys are gay, everyone in the locker room was into drugs and having circle jerks, etc.

Personally I just can't see Rock ever working for a company other than WWE. I think he's genuinely loyal to Vince. It would be a dream match that would definitely cement TNA as the #2 wrestling promotion in the US, though.

Dawn Marie files complaint against WWE
Dobbs 3K replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
Yeah, I dunno about this one...it sucks WWE fired her, but her getting pregnant basically nullified her ability to do her job (which was to look hot and perform on camera). At least that's the argument WWE will probably use if this thing ends up going to court, I'd imagine. -
"When asked if Ultimate Warrior would be a good addition to TNA, Sting said that he hasn’t spoken to Warrior beyond the documentary Warrior was putting together. He said that he thinks the idea of Warrior in TNA would be pretty interesting." Oh no!

Has there been anyone else who has done LESS in 10 years
Dobbs 3K replied to Frankie Williams's topic in The WWE Folder
You can't count Lawler because he came into WWF after his prime, mainly as an announcer. His career previous to that was very successful. Henry is a waste, plain and simple. I thought he might be something when he came back as a monster heel with Teddy Long a couple years back, but he did nothing then, too. When does his contract finally run out, anyway? -
From a ring psychology standpoint, Edge using the spear makes sense. Cena was already almost passed out...the spear is a quick move that is hard to block, and does a lot of damage (at least in pro-wrestling). It would also knock the wind out of someone. Going for a submission hold would've risked Cena somehow countering it, whereas with the spear, it's pretty much impossible to counter if you're really tired. I liked the ending a lot.

My problem was I always sucked. Unless I started with WWE I'd run into money problems pretty quick. Guess I never figured out a good strategy.

To the original poster: I assume you work in some retail position? I used to work retail, and found that you just had to leave when people try to talk to you as you're walking out. Just say something like "sorry, I'm done for the day" and walk out. If you're not on the clock, you're not on the hook.

I really don't think Hall will decline much, if at all. Realistically, I think he could get better. I mean, he's only 25.

Those strips are from back when Garfield was actually somewhat funny, and before Jim Davis forgot there were more characters in his strip than just Garfield and John. Seems like every strip now is just Garfield sitting at a table having a conversation with John, with some stupid one liner at the end.

In a somewhat surprising trade, the Brewers traded minor league pitcher Brian Wolfe to the Toronto Blue Jays for 3B Corey Koskie. Looks like the Brewers wanted some extra depth in their infield. The Blue Jays didn't really need Koskie anymore after acquiring Troy Glaus. The Blue Jays are also reportedly picking up a portion of Koskie's salary. On one hand I'm thrilled that the Brewers picked up something I felt they badly needed...a verteran player who can provide at least a small boost on offense. On the other, I hope the move doesn't reduce Bill Hall's playing time, as I think he deserves to play pretty much every day.

I've always liked "Behind Enemy Lines." The scene where the jet fighter gets shot down by the heat seaking missile is pretty amazing.

Yeah, its' too bad Rock left when he did, because he was _really_ good in the ring by that point. I especially liked his heel character he was doing around that time (or was that the year after? I forget). Basically, yeah, it would be nice if he'd come back, but I'd only want it if it's going to be a semi-permanent basis. I don't see the point in him coming back for one interview on RAW or one random match at WM. It'll only take attention away from guys who actually need to be built up, who will be wrestling for WWE in the future.

It comes from an old tradition, where, since people tended to not live as long, the godparents would take responsibility for the child if the parents died. Obviously this generally isn't much of an issue anymore, but in ye olden days it was a concern. In some churchs, like the synod I belong to, the godparents are also supposed to show some responsiblity, at least symbolically, for bringing up the child in that faith.

Whoops, double post.

Yeah, but they still need to get out of the building at a certain time, etc, so they can't have every match running too long. Not surprised by this release, and can't really blame WWE, as it sounds like Juvi was pretty much an ass backstage, if reports are to be believed.

He's with NJPW.

I think TNA should have a "midcard" singles belt as well. There's too many guys like Abyss and Sabu who aren't X guys who won't have a chance at the World Title anytime soon. Aside from feuding with each other, there's really nothing else for them to do.

Spike Dudley and Chyna.

WWF was doing a talent exchange of sorts with, I think SWS (now defunct fed), and held a "super show" with them in Japan. As far as Furnas and Lafon, I don't think they were actually members of the Hart Foundation...they just teamed with them a little bit leading up to Survivor Series '97, where Anvil/Bulldog/Furnas/Lafon teamed up.

Yes, he was a big star on the West coast during the '60s and '70s, IIRC.

Sounds similar to what happened with the reporting on the Israeli athletes in Munich in 1972.

- Uganda was Giant Kamala II aka Botswana Beast. - Speaking of managers, how about "the Coach" John Tolos? He managed Mr. Perfect briefly in early '90s WWF, and brought in the Beverly Brothers, who seemed like they'd be a big deal, but then he left pretty quickly.

I was going to say that the second pic makes Brock look like Vader in street clothes, but since it's Bernard/A-Train it makes more sense.
