See, I think that's part of the problem. I don't think WWE even knows exactly what they want to do with the "divas" at this point. It's kind of hard for them to bring in someone like Candice Michelle, who is clearly just eye candy one week, and then have us try to believe she's a credible wrestler the next week when she's wrestling Trish Stratus or something.

Yeah, Video Power was the show I was thinking of originally. Honestly, I don't remember the show as being all that great, but it was just something my sister and I would watch before taking off for school. I had totally forgotten about the cartoon portion in the first season. Those characters were all pretty annoying and forgettable. Especially the stupid talking tomato guy. Captain N was an OK cartoon, I guess. Simon Belmont really annoyed me...it seemed like they took what should have been an awesome cartoon character and turned him into this really annoying guy who'd always pull stupid crap from his backpack. Mega Man was dumb, too.

I have a personal theory that many people in the US would vote for some type of nationalist party, because they're sick of illegal immigration, among other things. I feel that the longer the situation with illegal immigrants goes unchecked, the greater the chance of some kind of _fascist_ nationalist party to gain ground in the US.

Sounds more like the Torch making up stuff that is impossible to prove and disprove on a slow news day.

Newsflash: Lots of women aren't all that hot looking without makeup on. As for AmyAce, I have no idea what the tryouts are like and haven't seen anyone on this board post about going to them. I think she should go though..what's there to lose?

They're trying to move away from being all about video games, and more to a Spike TV like "channel for men", at least that's how it seems.

The funny thing is, before the establishment of Israel, there wasn't really a group identifying themselves as "Palestinians." They're all Arabs. And the UN didn't kick out the Palestinians either...they were allowed to stay, along with the many Jews that already lived there. It's not like there was actually an independent country of Palestine before Israel was established. It had been a British mandate territory since World War I's end. Further, there are plenty of Arab nations in the greater region at large, yet they begrudge the Jews from having one nation to call their own.

I like how the interviewer cracks up right at the end.

Why would that guy have been a plant? I don't get it.

On that point, there's plenty of historical evidence that Jesus really existed. You may not think he was the son of God, but pretty much every reputable historian agrees that there really was a Jewish man named Jesus who lived around the year 30 AD or so. As far as Kwanza, I have no problem with people celebrating it...but the percentage of people who actually do in the US is very small. I've heard that less than 15% of the black population in the US actually celebrates it...so taking that into account of the overall US population, it's really a relatively small amount of people. It just bothers me that it's ok to have Kwanza symbols and talk about that openly in public institutions, but not talk about Christmas or use the phrase "Christmas tree."

Well, you gotta credit him for his passion, I guess...

Ooooh...if you're going to bring up Brock Lesnar squashes...how about that match where he destroyed Zach Gowan (the one legged wrestler), and then F5s him into the ring post, right in front of his mom? There was so much blood, they actually switched to a sort of black and white feed at the end...

Speaking of Sting, I recall one PPV match where Vader basically destroyed him the entire time, and I believe won the World Title from him.

Anyone who denies the Holocaust happened is simply a anti-Jewish racist bigot, plain and simple. To say that 6 million people weren't murdered by the Nazis, when their own writings state that is what they aimed to do, is one of the lowest forms of evil. But, if you want to cast your lot with the president of the greath and just nation of Iran, that is your call. You'll have to answer for it someday, though.

I don't mind Jeff Hardy as much as some people, but yeah, it seems like his value to TNA is pretty much gone anyway. I really can't recall the last match I've seen of his that really seemed halfway decent. Frankly, it seems like he's been lost in the midcard lately anyway. I also don't know what TNA can do with him at this point...he's too unreliable to put into a long feud or book in the world title picture...he's also not really quick enough for the X Division anymore. Maybe they could stick him in a tag team with someone like Chris Sabin, if they decide to keep him. The only problem is that team would inevitably get compared to the Hardy Boyz, circa '99, something they couldn't possibly live up to.

Women's wrestling is pretty tough to find videotapes of, especially anything before the 1980s. Let's face it, it has never been promoted too heavily in the US, aside from as added attractions on wrestling cards. So, TV footage of women's wrestling is fairly rare. I would find some websites of larger tape traders/sellers and search there. Sorry I don't know any links off the top of my head, as I'm not really into buying wrestling tapes anymore.

Yeah...I personally am not seeing where all these "Triple H is fat" comments are coming from. He looks pretty darn healthy to me. Wrestling fans have some pretty whacked perspectives on physiques. Look at how many people make fun of Flair's body. Yet, how many people on this board are going to look anywhere _close_ to that good when they're 55 or so, honestly?

Didn't Dan Severn have a bigger, more modern looking version of the current belt as well?
-
Yeah, that's the part I don't get. If they're mad about that, WWE should sue pretty much every indy fed in North America for billing people as "former WWE superstar" or whatever.

Yes, I agree that consumerism won out years ago (citing the aforementioned Charlie Brown reference). That said, calling a Christmas tree anything else is dumb, as is pretending that this is just a "holiday season" without acknowledging Christmas at all. The article in the original post noted that the school was displaying a menorah and kwanza symbols. So, am I to understand they are promoting Judaism and a fake black holiday made up in the 1960s, and not mentioning the actual reason for the holiday season in the United States at all? Come on...if there was no Christmas, there would be no holiday season in the United States. I don't think there is some vast liberal conspiracy to take Christ out of Christmas, but I think people need to grow spines again in this country, and not bow down to atheists and ACLU lawyers representing an extremist view.

Another one I was thinking of, after Edge mentioning him on RAW Monday night, Terry Gordy. In '96 he came in to feud with the Undertaker as the Executioner. Wouldn't it have been ok if he had just come in as Terry Gordy (it's not like he was an obscure name in wrestling at that point)? Or was it his idea to put on a mask, since he was going to end up jobbing a decent amount? Did Vince just think it would be a good idea for him to have that gimmick, or what?

Didn't really find him too funny, but it's too bad he died.

Yeah, the NAWF around here in Wisconsin has their "Pro-Wrestling All Star" shows and usually have some schmoe as Doink, I guess.

That pic needs to be shown anytime some idiot asks when Randy Savage is going to come back to the WWE.

I didn't realize this game was out 'til today. It sounds pretty awesome from the reviews on IGN. I hopefully will pick it up soon. Anyone else have the chance to play it yet?
