So, which channels will everyone be watching tonight? I usually flip between CNN, FOX News, etc.

Well, in our city, morning is definitely the time to go. I don't envy my wife going to vote this evening, as the lines will be long after everyone is getting done with work.

Pretty decent RAW. Of course, when you just put together a bunch of high profile matches for a three hour shows, it's hard to make it that boring. I enjoyed the cage match, but more for the ending than anything. Jericho and Batista didn't seem like they were clicking in the ring at all. I thought they were going somewhere with Batista's leg getting injured, but that seemed to go nowhere at the end. Also, there was at least two instances in the match where either Jericho or Batista could have won by simply falling backwards out the door, but they didn't. Batista in particular moved really slowly when trying to prevent Jericho from escaping. I don't know if that was intentional or he was trying to build more drama, or what. The way everyone was reacting, I almost expected Shane McMahon come out and re-start the match, due to Jericho using the foreign object. Still, it was nice to see Jericho get the belt back, since Batista as champion was pretty pointless right now.

I just voted. Only took about five minutes. Of course, I live in a relatively small town.

For some reason, when wrestling promotions fake relationships between guys, it's never really bothered me that much. It's just another way to advance a storyline. Although it was stupid when WCW tried to pretend that Hak and Raven were brothers, after it never being mentioned before. Not as bad as Jimmy and Ronnie Garvin, who at least had a connection and the same last name. As far as moments that make you cringe, I always hated during the Alliance angle when Stephanie said something about dying to Freddie Blassie, since it was obvious that Blassie was already pretty old...pretty sure he did die less than a year later after that, too.

I kind of doubt Cena's in-ring return will be in an elimination match. Really not looking forward to DX's eleventy billionth reunion match. It's not like we can't see the outcome of the match a mile away. I'm also wondering what kind of "subtle" endorsements of McCain WWE will do, being the night before the election.

I'd put Jake Roberts up there. Everyone on the 'net loves the guy's classic work, but I think a lot more of it was due to his in-ring personality, which was way ahead of its time. Most of his matches bored me to death though. I'm sure he had some classics in Georgia or Mid-South or something, but I've never seen any of it. Most of his stuff in WWF and WCW was junk, though.

Oh, sure, the ethnic comedians will be able to poke fun of him, but it will take a while before people like Leno and Letterman have anything to work with.

Eh...the Ayatollah used the US as a straw man enemy after taking power in Iran in the late 70s. While the US had interfered in Iran (supporting the shah and such), we weren't responsible for all their problems. That was the start of a lot of the problems Islamsists have with the US. Also, as long as we support Israel (which we should as a fellow democracy), the radical Muslims will always hate us anyway.

Well, it looked like Bell was trying to go into business for himself in that match, doing way more chain wrestling than you would expect from a jobber who was supposed to be making Saturn look like the star, there.

Was that the match Saturn was punished for when he had to take three super stiff powerbombs from Bradshaw on RAW?

I remember one year they ran a "computer simulated" wrestler tournament, sort of like that. It was sort of a "best of the best" type thing, featuring the likes of Sabu, Diesel, Hogan, Razor Ramon, etc. I believe the final had HBK beating Hogan. They even had a photo shopped poster in there of Michaels delivering a flying elbow drop to a bloody Hulk Hogan. This was in '96, IIRC.

I liked Macha's attitude at the press conference yesterday. He's not an overly exciting choice, but I think you are right that the change of pace with him could be good for the Brewers. Speaking of Yost, rumor has it that he could be a candidate for the Mariners position, now that former Brewers scouting director Jack Zurdencik (sp?) is the Seattle GM.

Congrats Phillies. While I wanted the Rays to win, at least the Brewers were beat by the eventual World Champions. How ironic that Geoff Jenkins finally has a World Series ring, just after leaving Milwaukee.

Maybe it's just me, but this show sounds much better than what they've been putting out the last few weeks.

Yeah, what aspects of Barack Obama can you make fun of? "Boy, this guy sure works out a lot..." "Have you heard this guy's name? It's pretty funny." "Have you heard Barack Obama was elected president? He plans on spending his next 100 days giving an inspirational speech every day..." "Man, that Barack Obama sure is black..." OK, that last one probably won't be in the mix.

The great thing about this country is that anyone who meets the basic criteria can run for elected office. It's up to the electorate to decide if they want that person or not. Let's not lose sight of that.

Even as a kid, I was somewhat surprised when Diesel won the belt so quick. He hadn't really been positioned as a main event singles wrestler yet at that point. I think if they had just waited until the next PPV to put the belt on him, it would have been much more effective. They could have had a short feud with Backlund irritating Diesel, Diesel never getting his hand on him, then finally getting the win at the following PPV.

As far as Orton, I could see him being a face someday, but not anytime soon. Maybe they can do something eventually like having Priceless & Co. turn on him, and Orton decides he's had enough and needs to help WWE put them away, etc.
