I'm SO buying this DVD! As far as other people they could do something like this with...I can't think of any other big stars who've gone so high up in the wrestling world and fallen down so quickly like the Ultimate Warrior. Maybe Randy Savage...

The Next Diva Posing Naked in Playboy is...
Dobbs 3K replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
You guys have to remember that most WWE marks have no idea Candice has been in that magazine under a different name, though. So...it is still going to sell well and get the WWE a little extra exposure. -
What's more pathetic is how the Cena/Bischoff "feud" started. Anyone remember? It was that shot of the two out in the parking garage during a RAW, where we couldn't even hear what they were saying! Just pathetic booking.

Probably not "the most famous" but Austin Idol was a pretty big name in US wrestling at one point who never worked for WWF or WCW as far as I know. A few others I can think of: - Bob Roop - Gino Hernandez - Bill Dundee (maybe he was in WCW for a match or two...I'm not sure) - Masato Tanaka (excluding ECW One Night Stand) As far as Bruiser Brody, I believe he had some matches against Bruno Sammartino in WWWF, but not WWF.

I think Chris Carpenter is pretty much a lock at this point. Clemens is good, but it's hard to overlook the fact that they usually take him out of the game after 5 innings (keeping his ERA artificially low), aside from the fact that his ERA in the last month is close to 8.00. As far as the Cubs, I think their fans are a little hard on Dusty, but you have to wonder if a personel change is in order after this season.

Interesting Wild Card Standings at this point (from MLB.com as of Saturday morning): NL Wild Card (w/ games back) --------------- Houston - Florida 0.5 Philadelphia 1.5 Washington 3.0 Milwaukee 5.5 New York 5.5 AL Wild Card (w/ games back) --------------- Cleveland - New York 0.5 Oakland 1.5 Minnesota 6.5 Toronto 9.5 Texas 11 Btw, Milwaukee beat Roger Clemens and the Astros last night. Second time the Brew Crew has beaten the Rocket this season. Go Brewers!

Yes, but assuming Leon White does own the trademark to "Big Van Vader", isn't the site owner infringing on his trademark then with that domain name?

Blitzkrieg has a successful job in the computer industry, I heard. Also, he at one point passed the gimmick on to another wrestler, Jack Evans.

Hmmm...that would be somewhat interesting...if someone like Triple H was champ, and he still had his "Evolution" group as his team. He'd try and make sure his whole team made it to the finals to help him win and keep his title. It would be more interesting then when they do those stupid battle royals on TV where someone's title is on the line. At least this would give the impression that it's somewhat fair, since the champ has teammates and all. Of course, the other scenario could be that the champion is eliminated in his survivor series match, and then it would be automatic that there'd be a new champion in the battle royal. As far as Taboo Tuesday, I like the concept of fans voting, since it's something different. I assume last year's show got a decent buy rate, since they're apparently bringing it back this year?

Well, it's been reported for a while that if you're not a "yes man" to Vince, you usually don't last too long with the company...

Yeah...I think _not_ having a women's division is one of the things that sets them apart from WWE in a positive way. I'm not against women's wrestling, but it's usually done so horribly in the US that it's completely pointless to try and do it.

Stupid question...not having seen Liger wrestle since his embarassing final run in WCW where Juvi beat him with a tequila bottle...can Liger still go in the ring? I'm sure he doesn't do all the high flying stuff he used to do, but is he still pretty good in the ring? Has his style changed much, etc?

Whatever happened to Saturn anyway? He seemed like he was pretty over for quite a while during his WWF run, then just kind of faded away since they weren't doing much with him. I always thought he and Kanyon would've made a cool tag team, kind of a "New Eliminators" or something.

Bret Hart would be exciting because he would be the one guy that hasn't "come back" to appear on WWE TV at least three times in the past three years or so.

The death of VHS is coming very shortly.

Yeah...drop a tape onto a thinly carpeted floor. Do the same with a DVD. Guess which one will have the better chance of not breaking? (Hint: It's not the VHS tape). -
Demolition and E&C gang up on the Rockers. Marty Jannetty gets pinned after a Demolition Decapitation after Shawn Michaels decides he's lost his smile and leaves for the locker room. Edge and Christian dominate Smash and Ax for a while before Edge misses a spear into the cornerpost. This allows Christian to be pinned following a piledriver from Ax. Demolition wins.

I'd rather see Brock Lesnar come back than any of those guys at this point. Remember Smackdown's anniversary special when all those guys supposedly were going to appear? Well, they did, but it was just in taped interview segments. I bet we get something similar. Fuck you, WWE.

I still have a VCR (own a few MST3K commercial releases, and have a few wrestling tapes from when I actually traded), but I never use it 'cause the picture looks horrible on our HDTV. I should hook it up to the bedroom TV, but I'm too lazy. DVDs are so much better, just for the surround sound alone. The problem with DVD recorders is that there are so many formats, and it's just too confusing to most people. At least they are getting cheaper. -
They have a couple Taco Johns in this area (southern Wisconsin), and I do like it, though it tends to be a bit more expensive than Taco Bell.

I do agree that Batista's style is a nice contrast to Cena's (who I find annoying and overly gimmicky quite a bit). I guess when I said Batista is stale, I was refering more to how the WWE has used him so far. When he first showed up on Smackdown, it almost seemed like he was an afterthought, and barely appeared on some episodes. Hopefully they are re-focusing on him a bit more, because WWE really does need a top babyface as a draw right now, and Batista could be it. That said, I wouldn't mind if JBL wins on Friday because I do enjoy his character.

Yeah...I don't think Vince would have been athetically coordinated enough to wrestle full time. Remember, this is the same guy that blew both his knees out getting into the ring at the Royal Rumble.
-
Yeah, the Implant DDT is one of those moves that looks a lot worse than it actually is. Kind of like a powerbomb, for example.

I couldn't sleep much earlier this morning so I got up and for the heck of it, checked out WWE.com. I noticed they had an "exclusive" match up...Vito vs Steven Richards. I watched it, and man...this Vito guy is pretty impressive. I'd encourage all of you to watch and give your thoughts. He's got a cool finisher, and seems like he can actually work. I wish WWE would start putting him and Nunzio on Smackdown (especially to let people know that Nunzio is the CW Champion, since I don't think that title change has even been acknowledged on Smackdown, as far as I know).

I'm not an expert on Puerto Rican wrestling, but I don't think Carlos Colon has ever been regarded as a great wrestler in the US. He's known mostly for his bloody battles with guys like Bruiser Brody and Abdullah the Butcher (possibly the longest running feud ever in pro-wrestling history) more than anything. I think you could compare him to a guy like Dusty Rhodes...not a great worker, but can work a decent brawl and has lots of charisma, and has drawn consistently good croweds over the years.

JBL gets heat...and not the bad kind of "get this guy off my TV 'cause he sucks so bad." It's the good kind of "I hate this guy and I want someone to beat him." Batista is kind of stale right now...JBL winning the title would at least let Batista chase after the title again. The chase is more interesting then the reign for a face champion anyway. Also...could someone explain to me why OJ is getting another US Title shot? Even in kayfabe terms, he doesn't deserve one...that much should be obvious. Is he just going to submit right away when the bell rings this time?
