Black people in this country always talk about equality, but they all fall for the arguments of entitlement, or that white people are out to get them, about 150 years after the end of slavery. It's ridiculous. When is the black community in the US going to start taking responsibility for itself? Bill Cosby is 100% right.

The success of this war is riding on the elections on Jan. 30...if they go relatively smoothly and democracy starts to take off in Iraq, it will be called a success...if the election fails or the country goes into civil war, its' a failure.

Psicosis to get a tryout match this Sunday
Dobbs 3K replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in The WWE Folder
I liked Psicosis in WCW...never understood why WCW didn't give him a bigger push, considering how well (relatively) Misterio and Ultimo Dragon did. Still, even if Psicosis gets signed I'm sure they'll hype him up with a few promos, give him a couple token wins over guys like Nunzio, and then have him disappear to Velocity until his contract runs out, or he gets fired for some reason. -
I could be wrong, but isn't there like, 22 months left on UPN's current contract for Smackdown (I think that's what someone said earlier)? Even if UPN doesn't renew, it's not like WWE has to right now end the brand extension or find a new network to carry the show. Let's not get carried away here. Networks fine tune themselves all the time...TBS used to be driven on wrestling, now it would be completely inappropriate to have wrestling on it, as it's more of an all comedy channel. If UPN doesn't want to renew, it's their right. WWE can always find a new channel to carry Smackdown!, though not necessarily another network (maybe WB is an option).

OK, thanks for the advice. I'll definitely avoid Dell then. I would definitely want color though. I guess I will look at newer HP priners.

Hey, anyone have any ideas at all now?

Gosh...I remember seeing a promo video from like 1990 or so in WCW where he was coming in as "Gator" Scott Hall...it was pretty lame. They did show clips of him beating a jobber in a squash, between clips of him hanging out at a gator farm (really), and poking at a gator with a long stick (double really), but I don't recall any specific finishing move he used.

I'm sure the match will have blood. Big Show and JBl might neither be great workers, but neither strikes me like they'd be scared to get hardcore and bleed a little bit, even if it's just a bladejob. They've both done it before after all. The promo picture also has a lock in it...makes me think the cage will be locked with wire at least on the top. Probably the only way to win is by pinfall or submission then.

I'm sure Maven will end up in it since they've been pushing him lately. Wouldn't surprise me if La Resistance ends up in it too.

I'm pretty sure the Gagne's still have the rights to the AWA name, but Vince does have at least the rights to the tape library for WWE 24/7.

Why not have the tournament in the US though...it is the _American_ Wrestling Association, after all.

Is it just me, or is the iPod a bit overrated? I don't have one, but used to work in an electronics store that carried them...this was last year...back then the 40GB was 499 big ones...don't know if that's still the case. Don't get me wrong, they are nice and pretty cool, but it seems like they are priced higher then competitive mp3 players that have same capacity and do the same stuff. I understand that as the market leaders right now they can price them how they want...but it seems like there are cheaper alternatives on the market that basically have all the same features. It seems like I'm always hearing about people having problems with their iPods as well. Personally, like I mentioned earlier, I received a Creative Zen Xtra 30GB for Christmas and love it...sure, it's a little bigger than Apple's player, but it has awesome sound quality, more than enough storage space for me, and is easy to use. And what's with this new iShuffle thing? (I think that's what it's called)...it's this little "stick" iPod with no menu screen...I think it stores like 200 songs...seems like a ripoff to me for 99 bucks. But people will buy them just because they're a cheaper version of the iPod. Sorry for the long post...as an aside, I think that new mini Mac looks really damn sweet for $499.

What's the deal? Are AJPW and NJPW merging or what? Or are they sharing a champion? I haven't followed puro for quite a while, so that's why I don't get it

After thinking about it, I am on the fence. For one, it wouldn't be that hard for TNA to bring in another belt...the NWA has like, 100s of titles...just bring in the North American title, or any other minor championship and have a tournament for the title. Of course, this would probably piss off whoever the current champion is, but they did the same thing with the World Title...so who cares? At the same time, I don't really think TNA, with their limited TV time each week, would really have room for another belt...it would probably just get lost in the shuffle ultimately.

Wasn't it only a five year pact anyway? I could be wrong, but I thought I remember that from my history classes. I thought it was basically designed by Hitler to give him enough time to beat the Western powers before turning to Russia, anyway.

I haven't been excited about it since Heidenreich has basically been booked to look like a pussy since the start of this feud. It would've been better if they had booked Heidenreich to look like an unstoppable monster who could easily beat Undertaker and even end 'Taker's career. As it stands right now, it seems like a forgone conclusion that Undertaker will win, so it's not very interesting. It's like pretty much every other feud 'Taker has had in his career.

Didn't Davey Boy get injured at One Night Only as well? I could be wrong, but I thought I remembered him hurting his leg or something.

LOL...Aries is the ROH Champion now, isn't he? Whatever happened to Horace Hogan though? I always thought he was a decent worker for a big guy.

ROB BLACK & co. vs. US FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
Dobbs 3K replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
Sorry to ask, but what happened to Messiah's thumb? Guess I missed that one. -
If Rock leaves, I'll miss him, but in away, good riddance. He hasn't done anything of note in WWE in over two years. WWE was stupid for pushing him into movies in the first place. Now they don't have him as a draw. At least if Rock leaves the WWE might finally wake up and elevate someone new into that upper echelon of babyfaces that is vacant in WWE right now.
-
Rock has done fine...I personally really liked "the Rundown" and "Walking Tall" was decent as well, in its own right. Does anyone really care about Steve Austin at this point? I don't see how well he's really going to draw...he hasn't been on WWE television in almost a year, aside from that guest spot on Smackdown's fifth anniversary show.

Just got done watching SD!...I thought the final angle was kind of cool, if a little predictable. At least they are trying to add a little intrigue to the Triple Threat match with the three competitors basically backstabbing each other left and right. And it at least makes sense that Angle and JBL would work together against the Big Show.
-
I've said it before, but it seems like week after week all we see on Smackdown is the same 10-12 guys shuffled in different matches against each other. There doesn't really seem to be much variety at all. I think they desparately need to trade or "steal" a big name from RAW (or sign someone from elsewhere, though there probably is no one of value available) and shake things up a bit.

Only four matches for a two hour show? What fills out the rest of it? A bunch of crap with the divas again or something?

I like the Misfits a lot...some of the songs are a little bit too weird or gimmicky, but the straight up punk songs are great. I like a few of their newer songs ("Famous Monsters" is an underrated album, IMO...I really dig "Saturday Night" and "Scream" from that album). Danzig is good in his own right...of course "Mother" is a classic, and he had a couple other cool songs like "Twist of Cain" and "Sistinas" as well. Anyone ever see that video of him getting punched out backstage though? Kind of loses his credibility after that incident. I saw them on the Warped Tour back in 2001 as well...FYI, Marky Ramone was on drums, along with Robo and Dez from Black Flag. Jerry Only was the only original Misfit actually playing, but it was still a cool set they performed.
