Oh man...I had With Authority! on my PC. I wouldn't be surprised if I blew over 100 bucks on it, buying various decks and stuff. I had this awesome Benoit deck where he only used basic moves, and I usually made my opponent submit with an armbar! Good times. I always wanted that WWF RPG game, but could never find anywhere.

Salomon Torres redeemed himself today.

I'm not a Ned Yost basher like seemingly 95% of Brewers fans, but Weeks and Hall both need to be sat. Fielder probably as well. We have guys like Ray Durham and Mike Lamb that are barely getting any playing time so these guys can go 0-4 and not get any clutch hits of any sort.

Hummers were the "cool" alternative to a limo or other SUV at the time.

I assume the fist helmet was some kind of merchandising idea they were trying to push. Probably figured kids would like it. Speaking of the six man belts...I'm surprised no modern promotions hasn't tried to do a trios type title again. WWE certainly has the roster for it if they wanted. Also, I remember rumors in the late '90s that ECW was going to introduce a six man type trophy, which the FBI probably would have held initially.

I'd rather Rays/Red Sox, but it's not like Phillies/Marlins is a nothing matchup. I think it's decided in advance though. ION (whatever that is) has tonight's game. ION affiliates carry MLB? Here ION just has lame family type shows. They used to have the Wonder Years re-runs, not sure if they still do. Also, on the local cable here, their feed quality is just awful. Oh well.

I was at Miller Park yesterday and got to see Mat Gamel's first MLB hit. That's a game where you just tip your cap to the opposing pitcher and move on, otherwise.

I agree with all this 100%. Punk kept the belt way longer than anyone could have reasonably predicted. How many thought he was seriously going to win the big gold belt to begin with? He'll get another reign, probably by WM next year.

The explanation they used on TV was that Ole was the fourth one, but working more "behind the scenes."

I always thought that was amusing, having a heel manager with a mask. Wasn't Roma still technically billed as a Horsemen during his team with Orndorff, "The Two Pauls", though?

I think the Brewers decided that since the Cubs have been losing, they had better lose too, just to make their final series against them all the more exciting. On the surprising side, Yovani Gallardo threw a simulated game the other day and could actually return to the team in mid-September. That would be a nice boost, to either the rotation or bullpen, depending on how they decide to use him.

Stewart just compared Giuliani's 9/11 references to "Free Bird". Awesome.

I don't really get the bookmark system at all.

Just downloaded. It seems all right. Pages seem to load quickly, but scrolling and typing in boxes seems kind of clunky, at least on this page.

Boy, the Brewers have not been showing up against their potential playoff rivals, for sure. Getting swept by the Mets at home is inexcusable.

So, CC Sabathia just got done pitching what was essentially a complete game no hitter against the Pirates. I say essentially because there was a bunt single that was ruled a hit for the Pirates, when it looked very much like an error on Sabathia (he tried to make a one handed grab and dropped the ball while the batter was not even half way to first). Still a great game either way.

Those orange dudes scare the hell out of me. How can anyone do that and think "Yeah, I look good", before going out?

I'm planning on selling my Mitsubishi WS-48413 rear projection HD-ready set so we can downsize slightly to a 42" flat panel TV (the Mitsubishi was perfect in our old apartment, but it's a little too big for the living room in our house now). The TV works perfectly, has been well cared for, and is in great condition. I know rear projections aren't really made anymore and are becoming less desirable as prices on newer sets continue to slowly fall. What's a realistic expectation of what someone would pay for a set like this? I was thinking about $500.00...crazy thing is we bought it brand new for two grand, less than five years ago. I actually put an ad on the local craigslist, but have only had one bite so far...some dumb broad thought I was only selling it for $50, and thought I was being misleading. Actually I mentioned in the ad that I also had a separate digital tuner I was looking to sell for $50 as well, when the price of the TV was right in the headline. So we'll see how many others fail at reading comprehension.

Salomon Torres has been quite solid, but everyone else has been a roller coaster ride over the season, more or less. Oh, and I have to pimp Ryan Braun again...after his homer last night, they showed a graphic, and he's like fifth all time of all MLB players with the most home runs in his first two seasons. He's like one or two behind Pujols at this point. Dimaggio is number one with 75, I think. Anyway, I think Brewers fans are starting to figure we can't catch the Cubs at this point, and we just have to focus on securing the Wild Card, which is fine with me at this point.

Yeah the whole "She has executive experience!" line is already getting old. Running a huge but sparsely populated state is a lot different than potentially running the whole country. I think this is good for Obama in the long run, in that he can point out the hypocrisy of McCain continuously talking about his (Obama's) lack of experience while picking an even less experienced VP candidate. As far as FOX News...yes, you're right about the female talking heads. I've managed to avoid ever seeing Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter on screen at the same time, and hope to always do so.

Were you being sarcastic? I hate kids, and I'll even admit it looks like a very nice little family.

Is there any word if he is actually going to wrestle? I could see him doing a match with Sting for old time's sake, or maybe a garbage match with Abyss. Beyond that, it's hard to imagine he has enough left in the tank to hang with someone like Angle or Styles or Samoa Joe.
-
Republicans should be glad he didn't pick Mitt Romney, that's for sure.
-
It's a smart move by the Repbulicans, but when you have two personalities as dynamic as Obama and McCain, I personally still don't think the VP picks are going to be that big a factor this election. I mean, this country elected the perennially unpopular Dick Cheney VP twice in a row.

Yep.
