Go back and read some of those old Tidbits reports. A lot of the rumors Herb reported were total BS.

I remember Barry Windham getting actually destroyed by The Undertaker on RAW before he left the WWF, after getting something of a renewed push in the NWA invasion angle (remember that mess?). Vader was buried somewhat on his way out of WWF, doing a big job to Edge on RAW.
-
I take it they don't use a firing squad in that state. That would solve the problem, too.
-
I can't believe anyone liked Wayne's World 2 at all. Half of the movie goes nowhere, and the other half is like a bad parody of "This is Spinal Tap."
-
Chances are we'll probably still see Flair pop up in WWE from time to time...he just won't be under a regular contract. Also, what the hell would be the point of "Flair showing up in ROH to shake Kobashi's hand?"
-
Also, this is not quite the same, and call me crazy, but I actually enjoyed a couple of those two ring battle royals that WCW used to do, where the winners from the two rings would face each other.
-
BTW, I had only recently heard of that PPV from the pic of the poster for it. What were the plans for that show? Was it really going to be yet another "relaunch" or WCW?

I did watch this last night. It was my first chance to finally see WWE in HD, and it did look great. The only downside is that I did see quite a bit of pixelation when the wrestlers came out in front of the Titantron. Other than that the picture quality was great. Very paint by numbers. The eight man tag was fairly fun, but that was about it. You could tell they were just kind of doing this show just to be done with it.

http://www.nwherald.com/articles/2008/08/0...de536709252.txt What's with Cubs fans assaulting people lately? There was that attack on a guy after a Brewers/Cubs game earlier this week as well. Yeesh.

The voice for Bowser was really weird, but other than that it was pretty funny.
-
I guess the Brewers are content to go for the Wild Card spot, and that's it.
-
I'll bite. What is that thing?

I don't know if I completely understood your question, but I'll point something out: The thing to remember is that most broadcast stations have already "gone digital." In February '09, the big event is that analog broadcasting is ending. Kind of a semantics thing, but important to keep in mind. I guess to put it another way, if you aren't currently getting a digital (HD or not) station, you are unlikely to suddenly get it in February '09.

CC Sabathia gets the complete game shut out over the Cards. Ben Sheets goes for the sweep tomorrow.
-
I envy you. I paid $3.99 yesterday.
-
I actually tried one of those...hooked the screen up to my PC. Ran it for quite a while and it seemed to have no effect. I did end up exchanging the TV. The new one works just fine with no problem pixels at all.
-
He found his power again. He was awful the first half of the season, but if he keeps hitting game winning home runs, I don't think Brewers fans will care about that.
-
Brewers get the big win in the 10th inning over the Cards. Here come Sheets and Sabathia.
-
Romney all but ensures a Republican loss. Sounds good to me.
-
Ned Yost somehow uses both Mota and Gagne in a 1 run game, and they both pitch scoreless innings.
-
Anyone remember that one from like '91 or early '92 where the Berzerker stalked around the outside for like half the match, pulling guys out? He won that one. I think it was another 40 man contest with quite a few jobbers. I laughed watching that other one where Mooney and Hayes had to tip-toe around calling them jobbers. "Less experienced" or "less established" superstars, etc.
-
My understanding is that most countries are nowhere near as strict with copyrights as the US is.
-
Durham is a nice pick up for the Brewers. Not a huge difference maker, but hopefully Yost will actually play him often instead of Weeks, who is just having a terrible year offensively. At the very least, Weeks should not be leading off anymore.
-
I vaguely remember that one. It seemed like it was obvious Rock would win, though.
-
One my favorites was on an old episode of Superstars from around '91 where they did a TAG TEAM battle royale...one of those deals where if one man was eliminated, his partner also had to leave. I really marked for that...LOD, Demolition, Nasty Boys, I think the Rockers...all the top teams were in it.
