I think a lot of it is that the republicans havn't really lived up to their end of the bargain either. They probably thought Bush would have banned abortion or criminalised homosexuality by now. They seem to now realise they were being used ( 8 years too late, though). I think I tend to agree more with SuperJerk's assessment. Anyone who really thought Bush was going to do any of that stuff was just plain delusional.

I don't think Candice ever did porn...I know she did some softcore stuff, but not actual porn. Mickie James did some stuff that was probably closer to porn (those photo shoots everyone has seen on the internet). Really wouldn't mind seeing Ashley fired. She sucks in the ring and looks completely awkward and weird, regardless.

The Gallardo injury indeed sucks for the Brewers. Sheets basically has to stay healthy and pitch well for the majority of the remaining season for the Brewers to have a shot, and that seems like a pretty iffy proposition at best. You can't blame Yost for having Gallardo stay in the game, though. The training staff said he was fine to continue. My understanding of the injury is that it was already torn (which of course they couldn't find out until after the game)...you can't really do further damage by continuing to pitch.

Big win for the Brewers, obviously. Gagne looked pretty strong, other than the one walk to start the inning. I think my favorite part of the game was Ryan Braun fielding a ball, and some Cubs fans throwing garbage onto the field...staying classy as always.

That would actually be kind of neat, mayhem, though I doubt WWE would want to take away the "special-ness" of the actual Royal Rumble. They could do your idea with some sort of otherwise modified battle royal, though, maybe. I do think the standard Lethal Lottery thing would work well on a three hour RAW, though.

I think I would tend to agree with you on that. I visited Germany about three years ago, and the amount of anti-Arab and anti-Turkish sentiment was pretty palpable in a lot of places.

Har har har, snuffy. Seriously, Italy and other parts of Europe have been dealing with immigration issues for quite a long time, much like the US. Some sort of backlash was inevitable, like it or not. If trends continue in the US, we could be facing problems of this sort down the line.

Yep, great show. I remember getting to watch that one because Charter didn't scramble the feed and we got it at our house for free, for whatever reason....this was when you could still tune to the PPV channel and hear the audio on analog cable.

Sounds like it was a decent show. I was surprised to read Triple H won the title...like others, I don't have a huge problem with it. I was just sure Orton was going to retain. I will be curious to see where they go with this. Maybe a short feud with Regal or JBL, and then build to a Triple H/Cena match at Summerslam or something?

Yeah, looks like a good spread of national games this week. Brewers looked pathetic this past weekend against the Marlins. Hopefully they turn it around and at least make the series against the Cubs interesting this week. Ben Sheets is supposed to pitch Tuesday, and Mike Cameron will be returning that day as well.

If I'm not mistaken, roughly the same percentage of eligible "young" voters have voted in the last several elections. So they do vote pretty consistently, to some degree.
