Well, I think most people with any knowledge understand that Ahmadinejad is basically just a puppet.

Fixed for truth. We get it. You hate anything involving Punk. God forbid I don't like a bland wrestler that's a second rate shitty knock off of KENTA. Exactly! Every time I watch CM Punk give somebody a GTS, I cannot help but think about how he is ripping off KENTA. I also think about how he is ripping off KENTA with all of the other maneuvers that he has been using for years and years. He also rips off KENTA when he is cutting his promos as well. Man, this guy is such a KENTA knock off. I can't even think about his name without thinking about KENTA. Right. Because like 99% of WWE's audience has even heard of or seen KENTA before.

Hillary raised (or at least hinted at) the possibility of a Clinton/Obama (or vise versa) ticket today. I really don't see that happening either way, but at least she didn't completely dismiss the idea. She did say "We have to see who comes out on top", first.

Anyone know why WWF only seemed to use PG-13 in one or two televised matches? I thought they would have been a decent addition to their relatively thin tag division. Pretty sure their last appearance had them getting completely destroyed by the LOD.

I don't know what to think about "the surge." You have people saying its not working at all, and others who say it is working. It doesn't matter...the whole landscape there is going to change when the US leaves, one way or the other.

Glenn Beck probably did a story on how the Yalta conference was secretly intended to create a New World Order, but Roosevelt's sudden death prevented it.

What's wrong with these people in Ohio in Texas? Seriously, it doesn't matter...Obama is still going to win. My big worry is that a longer Democratic primary season increases McCain's odds. McCain is now faced with picking a VP running mate. Any guesses?

I remember the AWF, circa '96. I actually hate to admit, but I enjoyed watching it. I was really psyched when they brought in the Road Warriors, and was looking forward to the inevitable Road Warriors/Texas Hangmen feud. They had a pretty laughable roster, looking back...Santana, Orton, Slaughter, Scott Putski, NAILZ... As far as judges for matches, didn't TNA have that for a while, most notably when they were on FSN? Oh and I know KamalaMilk's comment about WCW: Next Generation was mostly in gest, but I've always wondered if some promoter could get away with just showing really young indy guys on a regular series and presenting it as like "Wrestling's Stars of Tomorrow" or something.

Agreed. Like I'm going to listen to a bunch of damn kids in a badly acted piece of political propaganda tell me who to vote for. (6000th post!!!)

Do only some RadioShacks carry laptops and TVs now? The last time I went to the Radioshack in my town, they didn't have any of that on display...pretty much the bare essential type stuff only.

I get the unsettling feeling that today isn't going to settle anything for the Democrats, and it's all just going to keep getting nastier between the Obama and Clinton camps.

What the hell does that have to do with anything? Personally, I never found Linda Hogan to be _that_ bad looking for an older woman. Maybe her bitchiness and stupidity turned Hogan off, though.

I can't imagine that being enjoyable at all. I'd like to see some company in the US do a total comedy fed, ala HUSTLE. Just have a bunch of weird characters in pointless matches (no, TNA doesn't count, har har). Make it really violent, though, with lots of blading and such.

What would be the point of brining in a guy like Valentine for a backyard show? I bet if you e-mailed Meltzer, he would post some links to the various booking contacts for a lot of "known" wrestlers.

Really? I guess I've never seen any of his work from them, but his stuff here just makes him look like the usual '80s wallowing tub of lard.

OK. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Dan Spivey should have been a much bigger star than he was in this business. Great look, and a great move set. Might not have been a super talker, but he often had a manager anyway. Actually, come to think of it, he was pretty good on the mic as Waylon Mercy. Too bad injuries derailed him. Now, what's this about this Wrestlemania thing?
-
I believe Jericho probably did mess it up. There's been countless times where Jericho hasn't exactly looked great doing that move, as I mentioned in my last post.

Actually, my basic understanding is that banks really don't like foreclosing, because it screws them out of a monthly income they're making from the homeowner, and then they are forced to try and re-sell the house, sometimes at a loss.

Actually, to elaborate, what happened was that we went there twice...we went there first in the late morning, when indeed, we were approached by like three different employees. One of them was a total typical douchebag CE sales guy. I casually asked him about the Dynex and Insignia models on display, and he proceeded to say "I never recommend them, they're made by Best Buy and they're total junk. They break all the time." I appreciate honesty, but when I worked in sales, that wouldn't have flown, ever. He also did the usual spiel of "You have to get Monster products to protect against power spikes and dirty power" (and continued that line after I told him that I used to sell Monster products), and "You really need to get your $800 TV professionally calibrated so it doesn't overheat", etc. We went back later in the day after catching a movie, and the staff was pretty thin. Glad we ended up going to Sears anyway, in retrospect.

I don't know..I remember when Muta returned in '92, and while they ran promos for him and stuff, it doesn't seem like he was as "big of a deal" as his first run, at least from what I remember.

So far this show has been sort of a treat for me. I never really got to see the AWA when it was still around (we didn't get cable 'til '91 or so). I liked the segment with Zbyszko and Jannetty from the first show, where they were doing the sit down discussion. Really showed that Marty could have ended up being a pretty big star if he had kept his crap together. Don't get the huge push Jerry Blackwell was getting, but I guess anyone of size could get pushed back then, even if they didn't have a bodybuilder physique.

Really, if Lashley goes to TNA, what are they going to do with him? Hot shot him into a match wtih Angle on Impact, and then have him be the next guy to feud with Robert Roode?
-
I don't know why Jericho doesn't just drop the Lionsault from his repertoire now, or at least only use it on super-rare occasions. It hasn't been sold as an effective finisher for years, and I think he just does it out of habit more than anything. It usually doesn't look very crisp when he does it, and it's usually done as a counter spot where he misses it, or the opponent gets the knees up to block it. He doesn't need to be taking awkward bumps at this stage of his career.

Bit of news...wife and I bought a new bed room TV yesterday: http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/detail/...d=LNT3242HX/XAA Funny thing...we went to Best Buy and pretty much had that model picked out based on some good reviews, but couldn't find a single blue shirt to help us. I finally said "screw this" and we went over to Sears...ended up paying about 50 bucks less than Best Buy had it at. Pretty happy with it so far. Great picture, even with standard def cable. Hi-def of course looks great (I happened to have a small indoor antenna to hook up to it). Also, I found out that by running the "channel search" on the cable input, we picked up a bunch of channels you don't normally get on the standard cable "subscription" including some of the hi def feeds for the local channels, and all the digital music channels that Charter offers. I guess that's a bonus of having a TV with a built in digital tuner.

Oh gosh, I got so sick of Coachman playing Vince's neutered lap dog on RAW. I'm glad he's at least doing something different if they're going to keep putting him on TV.
