If I'm not mistaken, wasn't that the same year that brought Ricky Steamboat back to WCW? He came in subbing for an injured Barry Windham in a tag match, IIRC? That was a pretty good surprise. The start of the Dangerous Alliance angle was when I first started watching WCW ever, actually. I remember seeing Paul E. become manager of the Enforcers (Arn and Larry Z) around then. Up until then, my family didn't have cable, so the only chance I ever had to see any NWA/WCW programming was at a friend's house once in a great while. Other than that, it was pretty much all WWF for me.

I hope it stays on network TV...mainly because I do know quite a few people around here who don't have cable, and Smackdown is the only WWE show they get to watch right now.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Dobbs 3K replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
That's pretty much how I've felt about this situation since it happened. I don't know...I find it hard to pass judgment or blame any one person. There were a ton of factors that went into this. I don't think Benoit was in the right frame of mind, but clearly he knew what he was doing, too. It wasn't just some blind rage or insanity type of thing that made him kill his family and then himself. At the same time, his actions that one day seem to go against what all his friends say about him. I think it's a pretty big jump to say that because he was sometimes quiet or seclusive, that he was secretly a psychopath. -
The point was that a series of different schools headed by teachers who specialize in different styles makes for a better education. Or not. I mean I really don't see the problem with the WWE style. A wrestler learning different styles, so he can be a more well-rounded talent, doesn't make for a better education? Ok. Maybe in smart mark happy fairy fantasy booking land, but not in the real world view of WWE.

Yes, as opposed to all the high integrity candidates we've seen over the last few elections.

Well, unfortunately, Gov. Richardson never really seemed to get any traction going, and he was probably the best outside shot as far as non-legislators.

I'd say they know they're about to get fucked up the ass because of the last eight years, which puts McCain in the Bob Dole roll this year. BTW, I think the "reporter" in that Romney clip has watched too many Michael Moore documentaries or something.
-
Eh...they've basically already tried having multiple developmental territories. Remember Deep South Wrestling a couple years back? I think people that call for WWE to open up all these little regional training grounds are pining back to the days of the old territories. They only need so many guys in training at once.

Looks like Romney is out. He is "suspending" his campaign, per Drudge.

Basically so people can keep posting the same lame jokes, as already mentioned in this thread.
-
It's just a PR stunt. Also, the title of the thread is misleading.

Kamalagonnahitemup, or whatever your name is...that was in reference to a Will Farrell skit from SNL. I can't even remember what we were discussing at the time, though. Edit: Actually, here it is: http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...+farrell+ghetto

That guy appears to have six fingers.

But they want to stay until their mission is finished! If Bush had been smart, and didn't really have ulterior motives for keeping us in Iraq, he would have pulled us out a couple years ago. Our troops have done their job, it's up to the Iraqis at this point.

Mississippi doesnt want restaurants serving fat people
Dobbs 3K replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Current Events
I guess I feel like if you really need to smoke while you're inside a restaurant, which takes up what? An hour or two at most?...Then you probably have a bigger problem than you're willing to admit, so you're not going to be rational about the issue anyway. As far as the obesity issue, I don't know if I buy that fast food is that much cheaper. Yeah, if you are comparing to organic food stores, it's cheaper. The average grocery store has plenty of low cost options that are perfectly healthy for you. As easy to prepare? No. Part of it is laziness, lack of good parenting, etc. -
How much are you getting back in taxes this year
Dobbs 3K replied to Youth N Asia's topic in General Chat
I haven't gotten mine in to the accountant yet, but I'm probably going to have to pay in this year, for a variety of reasons. -

Right. A lot of it, frankly, is cultural. Speaking in broad and general terms, people in the Deep South tend to eat a lot of chicken, beef, fish, etc. Most of it fried and served in huge portions, along with food rich in carbs (potatos, etc.) I don't believe the government should force people to change, but maybe improving education down there would be a good step. -

How about educating people on healthy diet choices instead of trying to pass a law that will be impossible to enforce? I'm sorry, but the diets of some of those people down there are total garbage (and I'm from Wisconsin where we're not exactly known for being lean and healthy, either). Your body can only take so much fried junk before it quits on you. -
I would agree with your latter point. The lack of stables in WWE, given their huge roster, is rather confusing. I mean, you've sort of got Edge's current group with Chavo, and that's about it.

WWE General Discussion - January 2008
Dobbs 3K replied to Prophet of Mike Zagurski's topic in The WWE Folder
It's usually a single axehandle, if there is such a thing. -
I don't know...I did find the Shark Boy bit kind of amusing, but it has absolutely no worthwhile point or pay off at all, and makes TNA look pretty amateurish, since Austin never has and never will work in their promotion.

Hogan vs Bret Hart. This was on an episode of Nitro, circa '98. I know it was just a set-up for an angle, but it really should have main evented a PPV. Actually, what Jingus just mentioned...the Kurt Angle vs Brock Lesnar Iron Man Match from like, 2003, would've been awesome on a PPV.

Yeah, they can be a little "different" up there.

I never knew Glenn Beck was so well followed until reading this very thread. As far as global warming, I have absolutely no idea what to believe, as I am not a scientist, and each side vehemently claims that the other is just completely wrong. I guess that's what happens when you have corporations and special interests dictating the environmental debate. As far as the election, I'm getting the feeling that by the time I get to vote here in Wisconsin, the nominations are going to be all but finished.
