Maybe a better discussion for next week would be the later years of WCW Saturday Night (before it became a complete recap show at the end), when Jimmy Hart was basically running the show, and you had a weird mix of veterans and rookies appearing. As far as X-Factor, yeah...general consensus seems to be that they sucked. Speaking of X-Pac, though...Scott Keith's blog (yes, I know he's not exactly popular around here), floats the idea of a new heel version of DX to feud with Cena, and maybe HBK (assuming he would get turned on by Triple H). They suggest bringing back Chyna and X-Pac, and maybe adding a couple guys like John Morrison, as there's no way that faction would get cheered. I don't think it would be a horrible idea.

No, it's more a question of the product quality and creative expectations. Financially, WWE is doing fine.

Eh...I think MVP is bought as a legit threat now. Kennedy, not so much. The problem with having a heel beat Flair is that it would be such a downer. If a face like Michaels beats him, they can do the respect hug at the end of the match, then the face lets Flair thank the fans, celebrate, etc.

Barely remember them, to be honest. They were another act that got totally lost in the quagmire of WCW.

I didn't think the Steiners being forced to give up the titles was that bad, in terms of that feud. It's just that it was starting to get to the point where the nWo just ran roughshod over everyone after a while, and the WCW faces looked weak as a result.

Maybe if Vince McMahon retires or dies, and someone with fresh ideas is allowed to take over.

Well, under Bush right now, we basically have both. (big government and corporate interests) I think the US approach to foreign policy needs to de-emphasize charity and interventionism, and take on a more mercenary type of approach. You're some foreign country in Africa and need money to fight AIDS? Fine, but we're getting huge trade concessions and natural resource interests. You need our military to help stabilize your region, Middle East? Fine, but we're getting free oil. You want to send illegal immigrants our way, Mexico? OK, but we're going to start charging you for them. Oh, and when people start protesting, pull out of the country. That's what should have happened in South Korea a couple years back.

That sucks. Why are they going to waste a spot like that on someone who will get no rub from it? I'd rather see it go to someone who it will really help, like a Matt Hardy or someone like that. Someone mentioned Umaga and Estrada...Umaga is an example of someone who absolutely have a manager/mouthpiece, as far as the type of character he plays. Estrada also has no place being a "GM" on ECW.

I do remember the skit where Albert and X-Pac gave Credible that little toy belt. Probably the only worthwhile thing they ever did. Too bad they couldn't have finished the segment by smashing Credible's face in with a hammer, or something.

I think the worst part of that group was actually Justin Credible. He came off as a third rate cross of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and X-Pac, and was not that special in the ring. I believe he was later one of about 58 guys in the WCW/ECW Alliance to use the superkick as a finisher. Probably Paul Heyman's least original and most heatless creation, despite cramming him down ECW fans' throats. Then, to actually put him in a group with the guy he looked like a lamer version of, was pretty ridiculous.

The WCW Tag Team Titles after like, '97, were more or less worthless. I forget the specifics, but I remember when they tried to hold a tournament for the belts, and Nash and Hall kept running in on all the matches, so they had to re-start the tournament, making the whole thing look like a joke.

I have a hard time believing Hayes is really racist. He's worked with plenty of guys like Iceman Parsons and JYD in his career.

According to the AP, it looks like John Edwards will be announcing he's dropping out, during a press conference scheduled for later this morning. Also says he won't be endorsing either of the two remaining candidates immediately.

I'd be somewhat excited for Obama...not so much for Edwards or Hillary Clinton.

I guess I just hope they don't forget how over and popular Jeff Hardy has become. It's been refreshing having another face on RAW in the main event scene. I also agree with Haws bah gawd's sentiment about Cena coming back and making the show the "same old thing" we've seen on RAW over the past couple years. I hope they do something fresh with him, but I'm really not holding my breath.

It's possible. Frankly, I'm kind of glad I didn't order this PPV...between the Hardy/Orton match apparently being a let down, and Cena (who I understand is popular, but I don't care for at all) winning the Rumble, it doesn't sound like I missed much.

Well, it still looks like Clinton and Obama are co-front runners. Anyone care to speculate how things will shake out on Super Tuesday?

Ugh...a thread on Jim Ross forgetting about heels beating the crap out of him could have it's own thread. I mean, Triple H broke his arm, and Kane set him on fire, and he routinely gets behind both of those guys now.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not excited about her. I just have gotten this sense for the past couple years that people like Sean Hannity are really scared of her getting the Democratic nomination.
