Our governor sucks. Glad I didn't vote for him, either time.
-
Yeah, that's pretty annoying, looking back at how WWF wouldn't acknoweldge that guys like Dusty Rhodes and Harley Race were established veterans when they had their runs after leaving the NWA.

The scary thing is, there are people out there almost thinking like that. I briefly caught some Sean Hannity on the radio yesterday, and this guy calls in (of course, these people are going to be the GOP kool-aid drinkers). Sean says something like "I hear the weather is nice out there right now," and the caller's response was "Yes, but sadly it just reminds me of 9/11, because that was such a beautiful morning before the attacks." I mean, come on, really.

This made me laugh.

9/11 was six years ago...if Giulianni thinks he can win on that solely, with the short attention span of most Americans, he's going to be sorely mistaken. I think a Giulianni/Clinton election would make me vote third party in a presidential election for the first time, just on principle. It would be the ultimate showdown between two "I'll say anything to anyone to get elected" candidates.

If the cops had punched him repeatedly until he put his hands behind his back so they could cuff him, people on this board would be asking "Why didn't they just tazer him instead of assaulting him like that?" This is about people being anti-authority.

Like I've said before, if Jericho is coming back to be on top and do some new things, great. If he's just ultimately going to put over Triple H and Cena again, I have no interest and would rather he stay retired. As far as the video, it almost looks like it is hinting at a new gimmick for someone, or a new wrestler. The "I'm back" thing does hint that it could be someone making a return, though, so it could possibly be Jericho.

I don't think it's some big MLB conspiracy to make sure the Cubs make the playoffs and not the Brewers...but it does seem like the umpires have a vendetta against Yost and his crew. Maybe because he's called them out on their bad calls a couple times recently.

If WWE did a Battlebowl with all three "brands", and didn't book it really stupidly like WCW's last one (where basically every tag team was either together or on opposite teams, just by some coincidence), it could make for a decent show when they didn't have a lot else going on. It would be nice if they did something like that in the late fall or winter, post Summerslam, when it's not quite time to build up to WrestleMania yet.

Yeah, I barely watched at all last night other than a few snippets (Brewers were on anyway), and I felt good about it. I checked this thread a few times, and didn't sound like I missed a whole lot.
-
OK, so what was the point of that?
-
Was that like the third or fourth Coach/Cena match now?
-
OK...the umpiring against the Brewers lately has been ridiculous. I'm pretty sure we just saw an ump purposely blow a call, and then ejected Yost when he argued it (it was force out at home plate, called safe, when the runner was out by about a foot). Doesn't matter...Brewers are going to win this game, but it's just ridiculous.

Your high school friends must think u r kewl, d00d.

Apparently the reports of Bob Holly returning were true.

I love the fanciful idea in all these spam and chain e-mail scams that Steve Jobs and Bill Gates are these benevolent figures that want everyone to have free products for doing basically nothing, even though they're selling them for hundreds of dollars in retail stores.

I think it's way too early to be talking presumptive nominees. Remember who was assumed to win the Democratic nomination before the Iowa primary the last go-around? It wasn't John Kerry.
-
Overzealous? They were doing their job. The guy was completely out of line, and you damn well know it.
-
The umps in MLB are getting out of control, at least certain ones are, and it's time for MLB to reign them in a bit. I'm sure it's been discussed to death already, but that ump smiling during the Brewers-Braves game yesterday was despicable.

I played D&D and the Star Wars RPG for a couple years in high school. Got out of it when I just got too caught up in other stuff. I actually ran our Star Wars game, after we decided the guy who was running it was kind of lame and not following the rules. I sold all my books a few years ago on ebay, and kind of regret it, as it would be fun to go back and look at the characters we made again.

Where is the borderline for using the term "legend"
Dobbs 3K replied to Boxer's topic in General Wrestling
I would say someone who carried, or helped carry a company, for at least a while. Maybe that's a little vague, but I think that's a good qualifier, at least. -
The thing with Dean Malenko gets discussed every year. Basically in kayfabe terms, Malenko was the most active upper level champion in North America that year. He held multiple titles and wrestled the whole year, while guys like Austin, Hogan, and Hart all had long stretches of inactivity.

Remember, nothing material worth having is really free. Great post, though, pbone.

Go figure...I go away for a few days, and my seeming polar opposite decides to start posting again, in this thread. C-Bacon basically suggested the students attack the police for doing their job. Nice.
-
Which was dumb. He should have gone right inside on the next batter after hitting that guy in the face. Instead, he let it get to him immediately. I really hope they don't use him the rest of the year, unless they have a ten run lead or something.
