They should go with my idea I had for Eugene a while ago, where they take him out on a stretcher, but then instead of putting him into an ambulance, they toss him in a dumpster and light it on fire.

Man, RAW is so paint by numbers and formulaic. I'm just watching out of habit, and because the Brewers aren't playing (though that's probably a good thing right now). At least Umaga is going to kill Santino right here.

What happens when wrestlers take a 'net review too seriously?...

OK, that was pretty funny. Where were they wrestling, btw? Looked like the inside of a church. -
What was your first Exposure to Wrestling
Dobbs 3K replied to edgehead69's topic in General Wrestling
I remember the first match I ever saw on TV. I was flipping through the channels on a Saturday morning, and came upon WWF Superstars. This was around 1988 or so. I saw this monster named Killer Kahn destroy some poor jobber, and blow green mist in the poor guy's face to finish him off. I was pretty interested after that, but didn't get really into wrestling until around Wrestlemania 6, with the whole Warrior/Hogan buildup. -
Downloading the new "Beyond the Sword" expansion for Civilization IV right now, off Steam. Looking forward to it, as I'm a big Civ fan (though I haven't touched Civ w/ Warlords in a while, mainly due to having some new PS2 games). Anyone else have this yet? Some of the new (well, old ones added back in) civilizations and leader sound fun, and there's supposed to be more emphasis in the late game rounds.

Eh...it's about time for WWE to get on the HD bandwagon either way. I'm looking forward to seeing what it looks like.

Well, Owen's fall and death weren't actually televised...but that PPV was pretty horrible, so I wouldn't bother, unless you want to see wrestlers awkwardly go through the motions.

Brewers are playing like they want to give 1st place away to the Cubs at this point.
-
Well, I was in a Brewers chat room and my "theory" was that Yost had Wise intentionally hit the batter. My viewpoint was not appreciated. In all seriousness, that was pretty bad. I hope he's all right.

The Brewers gave up three good prospects for relief help, but since Linebrink is a Type A free agent after this season, they will get 1 or 2 high draft picks if they can't re-sign him, if I understand correctly. FWIW, I like the move. The Brewers bullpen needed a boost, as clearly Grant Ballfour wasn't cutting it. Inman is touted, but doesn't seem like his ceiling is as high as someone like Yovani Gallardo.

Yeah...'Taker didn't "no show"...they didn't want to put someone whose gimmick was basically being the Grim Reaper on TV after another wrestler had just been killed. You have to remember, Undertaker's character was a lot different back then. He wasn't in his "American badass" biker stage yet. He was presented as an evil occult-type leader....really wouldn't have been appropriate on that show.

Yeah, I don't think you can really point to any "New" tag team and say they were as or more successful than the old one.
-
Also, Spivey once had the ridiculous ringname in the NWA of "American Starship Eagle", whatever the hell that was supposed to mean.
-
Yes, Spivey was Waylon Mercy.
-
Yes, they typically have lamb. Sometimes you can get them with ham or other meat, but lamb is the traditional gyro meat.
-
Yeah, Morrison's theme does indeed suck. Doesn't really fit his character at all.

Who were really underrated, IMO. They could have been a special team, if not for the Brawl for All.

4th in the NL, 11th in the majors I have no way of checking, but I bet a big part of that number is some the huge blowout wins they had in the first part of the season. I mean, look at their homestand last week...three of their wins were only by one run. They'll be fine, I feel. It's just frustrating to watch them right now.

I must again reitterate my call for licenses being required to be a parent in this country.

I think they saw it as a venue to promote Jeff Jarrett as an old-school type wrestling champion. That's the only thing I saw in it. Oh, and I actually liked the New Blackjacks. If they had just actually pushed them and had them beat anyone significant, maybe they could've gotten over. Really, Bradshaw and Windham as sort of a proto-APA could've been entertaining.
-
The only thing that would have redeemed it would've been if Umaga starting stiffing them and dropping them on their faces, like on that one episode of RAW.
-
The fact they couldn't score with no outs and loaded bases against Cincinnati doesn't bode well for their chances to hold onto that first place lead. Granted, it's just a single game but it shows like all season, they can't score with RISP. Yeah, I know. It's been an issue all season, but especially lately, if they don't hit home runs, they don't score runs. Getting kind of old at this point.
-
My favorite team lost. 12 innings, and they only score one run. They had bases loaded with no outs at one point, and couldn't score a dang run. Just a frustrating night. Worst part is that they wasted a GREAT start by Chris Capuano. Ah well...still in first place.

It almost looked intentional there, but I'm pretty sure he botched that move.
