Just saw this, and overall I really liked it. My main gripe, like pretty much everyone else, was the lack of character development (or really, any character) on the part of the Decepticons. Still, it was a fun summer movie, which is what it was intended to be.

OK, that was cool from Lashley, jumping over the staircase.

Really nice article. Like everyone else, I'd love to read more if available. It's really amazing how seemingly all over the place, WWF was that year.

WWE is now trying to out TNA the real TNA.

This Lawler/Booker feud doesn't bother me too much. WWE hasn't done a feud over a crown in quite a while.

Yeah...RAW is pretty much paint-by-numbers these days. It's really becoming a chore to watch. I think I still watch out of habit, and that's about it.

Someone should forward that whole list to Dixie Carter.

I Put My Finger on Why WCW Seemed So Intolerable At Times
Dobbs 3K replied to zappafrank's topic in General Wrestling
It is kind of sad how Heenan's commentary kind of started to fall off after the nWo was formed. I don't know if health issues or a lack of passion for his job had anything to do with it, but you could tell he was really struggling on how to call matches after that point. Like, he was supposed to be a heel commentator, but couldn't cheer for the nWo because they "weren't WCW." -
Speaking of Jarrett and the NWA angle...did he ever actually defend the NWA North American Title that he won in that match with Barry Windham? It seems like he had it for a couple weeks, and then just abandoned it, IIRC.

That's too bad to hear about. He looks pretty rough in that photo too. As an aside, I find that some of Spivey's work in the late '80s/early '90s is really underrated. Very talented big man who should have been a bigger star, if injuries hadn't derailed his career.

It would be funny if Regal just outright said: "Well, since we know Cena can beat any number of men by himself, we're going to have him wrestle three champions, and give him a girl as a tag team partner. Sure, he'll win anyway, but at least this will be entertaining." On Orton...having Cody join with him would be kind of dumb, but I've felt for a while that Orton should form or be the focal point of some kind of heel stable again. I'd love to see something like Orton/Cody/Carlito/Kennedy as an alliance against Cena. Maybe throw in Booker before he becomes Triple H's bitch again.

Yeah, but TNA is only one hour of programming each week for them, whereas UFC is how many?

Spider-Man makes some good points.

FWIW, there was a big rumor that Dunn was about to get traded to the Brewers a couple days ago, but Doug Melvin shot that down very quickly. It was initially reported by a Cinci radio station and spiralled out of control from there, I guess. I think Dunn is a great player. Personally, I laugh at a lot of the statheads...there are very few "perfect" players out there...A-Rods and Pujols don't grow on trees. But people like to nitpick players that strike out too often, despite their power numbers, or players who have a slightly low OPS because they don't walk enough, or such nonsense.

What would it take to make you interested in the WWE again

bring bret hart in as a GM Why would that be even remotely appealing? This isn't 2001, you know. -
Yeah, the NL Central race is really tight right now, and it's down to two teams at this point (Cubs and Brewers). The Cubs have been playing red hot right now...of course I'm hoping the Brewers can hang on, but they'll have to string a few wins together, or at least hope the Cubs slow down a little bit. Brewers bullpen looked terrible last night against SF. It seems like either the Brewers offense is hot, or the pitching, but never both at the same time lately. It'll be interesting to see what moves the two clubs make, if any, before the trade deadline.

"Who's Now!" has no value what so ever, from what I've seen of it.

A bit of activity going on right now, folks.

21 is OK...but I'm perfectly happy at 27 now.
-
Well, WCW didn't really have their crap together enough to change things at that point anyway.
-
WCW closed down before DVD started getting really hot. I don't think WWF started releasing DVDs 'til 2001 or 2002, IIRC.

Yeah, this sucks, but I can't say it sounds terribly surprising. I remember hearing that Kronus was a drug user and abuser.

Might as well get it out of the way: "Hi, Pit posters!"

Yep. It's about time for a third party to step up in this country. Sadly, there really aren't any viable ones.
