Yeah...the Invasion was doomed when they didn't bring in any of the real main eventers...I'm sorry, but Booker T and DDP were just not going to be seen as being the equals of Austin, Rock, etc. Eventually of course, Vince brought in the nWo, Goldberg, and Flair...so I think the argument that they couldn't afford it was just kind of BS. How pathetic was it when at the final apperance of "The Alliance" (a completely lame stable name if there ever was one), Kurt Angle and Steve Austin were the two top guys in the faction? The Invasion could have worked if Vince had just checked his ego a bit and let the Alliance guys get over somewhat...but at every turn, the WWF pretty much handled "WCW" and "ECW" too easily. Also the booking of Steve Austin as the heel leader of the Alliance at the time was just asinine.

WCW seemed to alternate between wanting Nitro to follow through into Thunder, and then sometimes try to keep them as separate "brands". I remember at one point it seemed like DDP was supposed to be the main face on Thunder. It just never seemed like they could make up their minds about if they wanted to tie Nitro into Thunder or not. I remember there were rumors that Jimmy Hart wanted to take WCW SN even further, and introduce more titles than the TV Title, and basically book the show as a completely separate "brand", like you said. Supposedly Nash and others nixed it because they were worried he'd actually do something with the show and make it mean something. Those guys didn't want anything taking away from Nitro's popularity, I guess.

Yeah...well, it doesn't come out for almost one more month anyway...by then I could change my tune. Of course The Show '09 comes out like a week after that, if I'm not mistaken. Too many good games coming out, not enough time to play 'em all.

Killzone 2 reviews are already out. Looks like an awesome game, though I probably won't rush out to get it since I'm kind of FPSed out at the moment after playing lots of Fallout 3. I'm looking forward to this Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection that's coming out in a couple weeks. 40 Genesis games!

Either way, all I think of now when I hear about the Warrior is that clip wrestlecrap had of his workout tape, where at the end it had the audio of a collection agency calling his business.

Boy, going on the Bethesda Fallout 3 forums, they have a lot of angry PS3 owners on their hands it seems like...between the lack of DLC and the bugs in the game they don't seem to quick about fixing.

I haven't seen The Wrestler, as of yet, so I'm not going to pretend to have some attachment to it at this point. I just think doing a Rourke/Jericho match is a waste. I wouldn't have minded if they had Rourke show up as a guest manager or something like that, but I don't want to see him wrestle a match. I would also rather see Jericho wrestle someone like Cena, Punk, Orton, Triple H, whoever.

A Blu-Ray player should upscale just as well as an upconverting DVD player. Actually my PS3 seems to make regular DVDs look better over an HDMI connection than my old Zenith upconverting player did over component video.

Well, with HD sets becoming more affordable and more prevalent in US households, I doubt that will be that much of an issue down the line. Although according to Nielsen, as of December '08, only about 25% of US households have an HDTV set right now.

Well, since I have a PS3 I can't get it, but I dunno if I'd be that excited for a mission that only allows you to fight and that's it.

I remember Hogan actually did one or two matches on WCW Pro (their Sunday afternoon program which usually had a bunch of low card squash matches) when that show first debuted.
