Heh, punchy. I actually had a chance to go to the game today, but had to pass. I'm laid up at home right now, and going to a baseball game is out of the question. Ah well.

Exactly. Unless you're in the upper middle class or higher, the additional cost of a hybrid model is probably prohibitive. My understanding is that unless you plan on owning the car for at least 10 years, or drive more than 20,000 miles a year, you will not make up the difference in the price of the car, versus a standard gas-only model.

Religious Tolerance & Religious Moderation Are a Joke
Dobbs 3K replied to Big Ol' Smitty's topic in Current Events
No, but he did preach against sexual immorality and made references to marriage (implicitly marriage between men and women) so it's not to hard to draw a line. -
I'd also use less gas if we had electric or hybrid cars easily available, like we have talked about since I was in grade school in the 1980s.

Religious Tolerance & Religious Moderation Are a Joke

I don't know why some people feel the need to attack the Bible. We could make a similar thread about Islam and the Quran, and be derided as racists. -
http://daemen.edu/~ceagan/UWF/ A UWF tribute site, of all things. Here's a hilarious item: "08/26/1990 - Press Conference - New York, New York Notes: Herb Abrams held a press conference at John Arezzi's wrestling convention in New York, unveiling the Universal Wrestling Federation. The event was memorable because he announced that Bruiser Brody was the company's booker and Adrian Adonis would be brought in as an active wrestler. At that point in time, both men were dead. Cactus Jack first met Herb Abrams at this convention and agreed to join the UWF. An angle was ran at the press conference with Dan Spivey attacking B. Brian Blair. Footage of the attack was aired on the premiere episode of Fury Hour."

There's an arcade at the mall about a half hour from me....mostly driving games and shooting games, though they do have a few classics like Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, and maybe a Tekken game or something. Not really my cup of tea. There's a newer "Family Fun Arcade" type place near here, but I haven't checked it out...sounds like it's more of a Chuck E. Cheese type place, so I doubt they have any real video arcade games.

Religious Tolerance & Religious Moderation Are a Joke

I don't think any mainstream Christian believes that we should kill gays. The Bible is quite clear that homosexuality is considered a sin, though. Just wanted to clear that up. -
Oh boy, Lashley on RAW, I don't think I've seen that one before. Or Matt Hardy on RAW, or Chris Benoit on RAW...

Uh...I don't think anything is broadcast in 1080p, is it? 1080i and 720p are the standards set by the ATSC for HDTV broadcasts.

It should be noted too, that unless you live in a large metro area, all the talk about public transportation and car pooling is basically useless. For example, I'm self-employed, and commute about a half hour to work. There's absolutely no public transportation or car pooling available to me, so gas prices and fuel economy have a huge impact on my pocket book. I take the interestate...reducing the speed limit wouldn't really help at all.

Here's what I took from the original post: "If you believe in a big man in the sky, you're a neanderthal." -
So, is everyone else psyched for Vince McMahon Appreciation Night next week? I'm sure that will pull the ratings in, for sure.

WWE General Discussion for June 2007
Dobbs 3K replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
Yeah, I'm sure Goldust will get this situation on RAW turned around. It's just what the fans have been clamoring for. -
The '96 GAB was a really good show...isn't there a solid Dean Malenko match on there, too? Plus, with the historical importance of that show, it's worth watching again.
-
Basically we'll have to wait 'til 2009 for anything to get done about it.

The problem to me is that SNME used to be a special event. You'd get one main event on a card each week on syndication, and Tuesday Night Titans rarely had big matches. It was the ONE outlet WWE had at the time to run a full card of star vs. star matches. Now with five hours of live television and 14-16 PPVs a year, SNME is nothing special. Yeah, I agree. The show really serves no purpose at all. I think WWE even realizes it. It's like "We just used the last five hours of TV this week to plug the PPV, and now we have to put on one more show before the PPV? @#$%!" The only way I could see it working in the future is to make it a special gimmick show...like have a battle royal or one night tournament where the winner gets a title shot on the PPV the very next night. It would give people a legitimate reason to tune in, at least.

I finished watching most of Anarch Rulz yesterday (haven't gotten to the main event yet), and I hate to say it, but I can see why ECW was starting to slide down at that point, and remember why I was paying less attention to it. I'll probably get flamed for this, but I must be the only wrestling fan in the world who has never gotten into Jerry Lynn and Lance Storm. Yes, they are talented quality wrestlers, but they just don't stand out from anyone else. They are like watered down versions of Eddie Guerrerro and Chris Jericho, without the mic work and compelling characters to back them up. I just couldn't get into the match. It's like "Yeah, they're doing good chain wrestling, but why should I care?" I also think Justin Credible is one of my most hated wrestlers of all time. It's like Heyman took Aldo Montoya and set him up with a "make a 1998 e-fed wrestler" kit. How anyone could buy him as anything other than the bastard love child of Stone Cold and X-Pac is beyond me. I just really hated seeing him go over Sabu. I did like the three way match (Guido/Crazy/Tajiri). I also enjoyed the Shane Douglas vs Pitbull #1 match on the Shorties section, though. At least that had a good storyline to it.

I was in an efed with a Ghandi type character. Basically he would only counter wrestle and wouldn't attack his opponents. I think something like that could possibly work in the X Division.
-
Has there been even a mildly good episode of SNME since the return to NBC? It seems like WWE either deliberately makes them suck, or is trying too hard to "dumb them down" for a mainstream crowd.
-
Yeah, I've heard about this one before. Kind of sad that their case doesn't seem to have even been reviewed in the lsat 14 years.

How about "The government does its job and finds a real solution to the national energy problem, so we don't have to take a measure from 30 years ago as a bandaid solution?"

Dog fighting is something best left to the backwater third world and Muslim countries. America is supposed to be above sub-human garbage like this.

Freaking Brewers sure are struggling lately. At least Prince homered again.

This is like one of those non-news headlines 1wrestling.com used to post to get hits.
