    Austin Article in The Enquirer...

You have to wonder when WWE will just cut their losses and just fire Austin once and for all. You'd think he would be a huge PR liability at this point. Maybe it's simply because this story hasn't caught a lot of mainstream attention. It's not like they really need him anymore. I mean, who really cares about him as "RAW sheriff" anyway?

    Holy SHIT

looked pretty fake to me...the font is totally amateurish looking.

    WWE DVD News

I hope the RVD DVD has a Robbie V match from WCW.

The OAO Showdown: Legends of Wrestling Thread!

How come Hogan is the featured star on the cover? I thought it would be Ultimate Warrior.

The OAO Showdown: Legends of Wrestling Thread!

I'm sure RVD isn't in because of his WWE contract. I would bet Pillman is, though it's kind of weird they haven't mentioned him yet.

    tv A/V Question

Here's the general connections for audio/video, to hopefully clear things up: F-Coax (cable): Combines both the video and audio in one black cable, usually with some time of screw on connector on both ends. This will usually result in the lowest quality, since everything is sent through one connection. This is often the only way to get cable TV to your television though. Composite Video (single yellow cable): One wire sends only video. Will usually give you a better picture than F-Coax. Decent VCRs usually have an output of this type. S-Video: Has weird multi-pin connectors on both ends of the wire, which can only be inserted one way (ie. you have to line of the pins with the holes). Will give better quality than composite. DVD players and higher end VCRs usually have S-Video out, as well as some video game systems. Component Video (red/blue/green): Three separate wire, all of which handle the video signal. One cable is for the black and white signal, the other two create color by having one handle chrominance, and one handle luminance, IIRC. This will give you the best quality possible for video, and is also capable of sending a high definition signal to your high def TV, unlike the others mentioned. Any decent DVD player will have component video output. Some cable or satellite (usually high definition) boxes have these as well. Stereo RCA (Red/White): Named so because the RCA company invented this connection. This is strictly an audio connection. One (usually white) handles the left speaker sound, the other (red) the right speaker sound. If you only have one connected, you will only get mono sound. Mono TVs and other mono equipment usually only have the white connector. Digital Coax (single black or orange connector): Uses a single cable, exactly like a single RCA cable. This will send a digital audio signal to your equipment, and would usually be routed from a DVD player or other audio device to a digital surround sound capable receiver. Optical Cable: Uses a beam of light to transmit digital sound. Does the same job as digital coax. These cables are very fragile...one kink and they're ruined. Some DVD players and receivers have these connections. Hopefully this helps some of you with connection questions. Let me know if anything isn't clear here.

    Stereo Sound on my TV....

I don't know if this is helpful to the original poster, but if you have a decent stereo or surround sound system, you could run all your audio through the receiver and have stereo (or surround) for your TV shows. Sounds like you have a mono TV, though. Sometimes a stereo VCR can be used to route your TV sound to a stereo, though.

I'm pretty sure Rick Rude is in the game too

    "Fock" Austin

I don't know if the Smackdown guys backed down simply because Austin was staring at them...I think maybe it's part of a storyline where the roster hates Heyman...maybe this will kick off the rumored ECW brand...but I could be thinking too positive here.

Hulk Hogan must be at WM XX

He wasn't at WM X either...no one was crying then. Actually, I think most people were glad.

    High-Flying World Champions

I think Vader beat Simmons with a shoulderbreaker, though I could be wrong.

    Bret Hart or Hulk Hogan

Bret, maybe in a HoF ceremony, or small angle with Benoit. Please no big showdown with Vince or something. Hogan doesn't matter...he wasn't at WM X either, no big deal.

    I miss WCW

I agree...WCW was starting to get better towards the end...but by then most of the big names weren't even appearing on the shows, and it was just a matter of time before they were either going to get bought out or just killed off by Time Warner because the ratings and revenue were so embarassing. I do miss having an alternative to WWE...and no, NWA-TNA doesn't count.
  14. People still go to 1wrestling.com anyway? I quit going there when they started with the huge amount of popups...sorry, but I'm not going to pay to get my wrestling news, and I'm not going to put up with all that crap.

    HBK 98

Oh yeah...you had to love how they kept who DX's partner was going to be a "surprise" during the show, and then it ended up being Savio Vega. Could they have picked someone any lamer?

    Jeff Hardy to return?

I wouldn't mind seeing Jeff Hardy come back, assuming he is in better shape then when he left. Believe it or not, there are a lot of Jeff Hardy marks out there who I'm sure would love to see him back. Putting him in Smackdown would also give the CW division one more over face than just Rey Misterio.

    WCW Beach Blast 1993

I could be wrong, but didn't he get shot in the face with the "Badd Blaster", that confetti gun thing he used to bring to the ring? I remember he won a match, I think against Maxx Payne, then took off the mask to reveal that his face was fine.

Hulk Hogan Set For Jimmy Kimmel This Week

That is a neat idea...Hogan vs Austin...battle of the two biggest draws in WWF history. However, can Austin really work anymore? Isn't his back/neck too messed up? Plus...who would do the job? It would probably end up being a double DQ or something.

Flair brought up a good point

They could have at least done a VHS tape (both WCW and WWF were doing a lot of VHS releases in the late '90s, WWF probably more than WCW). WCW was never good at utilizing any of the resources they had at their disposal. Too disorganized.

    Fire Pro D

Yeah, I still play it every once in a while. It really is the best wrestling game ever. I wish they would come out with a new one for X-Box...that would rock. It's too bad the only American game that has even come close to bringing the realism of Fire Pro is No Mercy, for N64...
  21. I have Ric Flair: Legend, Volume 1 on tape. It appears to be a comp tape a fan put together with voice overs included. It covers his career from his first World Title win to losing the WWF Title to Bret Hart. I would love to get Volume 2. If anyone has it, please e-mail me. I'm willing to pay via PayPal for it, assuming the price is reasonable. Thanks, Mason
