Explain David Flair, then. The Nature Boy *himself* can't explain David Flair, and you want *me* to?

The best matches for me are usually myself against my roommate... his Helldancer against my Rendclaw.... we're constantly tweaking moves and such to get the most out our CAWs, usually taking a low blow, slap to the head, or other disrespectful move to mess with each other's minds and our friends... but our matches usually are at least in the *** to **** range, with reversal, smackdown counters and near falls galore.... I think the series is at 8-6 in his favor, but hey, that can turn around at any time. The best match I ever had was the six man elimination match against Booker T, HHH, Brock Lesnar, Chris Jericho, my own CAW Rendclaw (I was playing my other CAW, Killian) and The Rock. I pinned all five of my opponents during the course of the match. A close second is the Rumble where I came out in the middle of the field and won it after skinning the cat five times in a row.

They can't even do the vocasl entrances right... I agree totally that the voice announcing is a waste of space, and they should keep it to caption, such as in the storylines, after the matches..... But the problem is that THQ feels that they have to make these games as glitzy as possible, so those useless extras will stay... I would love to have them do all of the arenas that house their PPVs, such as MSG.... The wandering around looking for wrestlers to talk to/insult/be insulted by should be kept to the immediate arena, and have many more of them, to take the storyline in different directions if the player wants to, and not go to a subway station, or to the now-defunct World, which was a huge waste of the player's time. I mean, why go to the World to be insulted by Chris Jericho, when he could have been in a place in the arena?? There were no more than three wrestlers you could find at any one time in the arena area, and searching through all of the places could take ten minutes.... in that length of time you could have one long, great match or several not-so-great ones. And even though this is a minor beef, they storyline has to go longer than two years. Make it five, and then we're talking. Once you have built up to 99 superstar points, you are pretty much unbeatable if you know what you're doing with a particular wrestler, created or not.

Okay, Shut Your Mouth has been out for almost six months, and most people on here are pretty familiar with it... so then, what should THQ do to make the next game better?

::sighs deeply:: This one hits home because I remember the true good old days, back when Space Invaders had started the whole damned thing... I was a true mall-rat, in that I woul skip school, go hang out at the mall, shopilft candy bars and spend what little money I had in the arcade, never mind when I got my allowance, and I would just go nuts. But when the Playstation, Saturn and N64 hit the market, that was the sign of things to come. Arcades were losing money by then anyway, despite healthy and thriving franchises like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, among other things, and when arcade ports started hitting the shelves, it accelerated the process. I lived for almost ten years in Orlando Florida, and my roommate and I would go out of our way to find arcades and go beat on the machines... hell when life was beating us down, we used to call them "vent sessions". There were (and still are) arcades on disney property, but there were no less than seven to ten arcades in the Orlando area as late at 1997. When I moved up here to Michigan, aside from the disney property, there were no more than five. The Fun Machine was a personal favorite because it was HUGE and had all genres of games, from SF and MK to freaking Sprint, which was made in freaking *1976*. Add to that games getting more expensive to rent as was mentioned, and there being very little difference between console games and their arcade counterparts, its no wonder that crap games dominate the arcades, what few of them remain.... add emulation to that equation, and its just a desolate wasteland, especailly for an old schooler like myself, who still marks out when he sees an arcade game that he used to play way back when. Its a pity, because my life's ambition is to own a chain of successful arcades... not going to happen now, that's for sure....

For a good laugh, if you can find it, Wargames 87. Ric Flair's selling through both Wargames matches and the match with Ronnie Garvin was a running joke between a friend and me for YEARS. God, I miss the hell out of Gorilla Monsoon...

Sorry to disappoint you, but Ivory is only a mere 5'2". You can have Torrie (5'9"), or how about even Linda Miles (6'1") Oh, and Lita is 5'7". Oh no... I know that Ivory was short..... Lita and Ivory just strike me as being fun to hang out with.... With Ivory its just that devil-may-care and sometimes a lil crazy attitude, and Lita is just cool as hell. Stacy, being 5'11" and 75% of that being those legs and an absolutely *luscious* ass besides, plays right on my weakness..... Its just a damned shame that she's with fucking TEST, of all people... then again from what I have heard, if you ain't a wrestler and fulla musckles, you have no chance with her. Linda Miles? I'm a black man, and I would have to say no thank you to that sista..... she did not turn me on at ALL.

Yeah right, back when he actually did a halfway decent job.... what was that, 96, 97? He's just too damned smarmy being the GM and being on the stick. I would take Schiavone at this point because he's a proven vet for play-by-play... actually when I think about it, he and JR made a good team way back in 87 doing the first War Games match... too bad Tazz is on SD, because I think he and Schiavone would make a good team, then again I'm stilll a touch bitter over what they have done to/with Tazz since he came from ECW.

Double Post. if there was one thing I hated it was the Fire Pro system. There has to be a compromise somewhere between precision and button mashing, though I'll be damnd if I know what it is. Survivor Series? Since the actual PPV went away from what made it famous, why should they represent it in the game? I have to admit that in the tag team and six-man variant matches, using a submission match when you know your opponent is on his last legs ends things with no problem.... or vice versa... breaking submission holds would be good, having someone else break them is even better.

Good points, everyone. I agree with the fact that more moves need to be in the game (without certain moves I can't create Low-Ki the way I want to), better that than wrestlers no one uses, such as the ladies.... If I'm not mistaken (and of course I could be), the females don;t even have a title in SYM. Aside from the quite limited cheesecake, why even have them in? FI they're going to go a particular place, go all the way instead of being half-assed about it. One of my major beefs is when you form a stable, the majority of tag team matches you have should be with your partner in the stable, regular or six-man. More consistent run-ins (or maybe a controllable run-in) would be wonderful. The CAW feature is much better than what was in JBI, but it still needs improvement... and while I understand the need to install the unlockable movesets, they should be kept strictly to movesets and areas, instead of clothing, alternate costumes and the like. Now that I think about it, THQ could not in all good sense trim the not oft used wrestlers, in that everyone on the roster at the time of the game's creation HAD to be in the game.... even though you can see who has higher importance in the game and who doesn't....

Cage matches are very annoying in that regard, in that they can last either for 10 minutes or be over in 10 seconds.... usually in a regular cage match, build up the smackdown, lay it on him and boogie, unless of coure you want to dive off the top of the cage, which I did once.... in tag matches, let your partner escape first, have one smackdown available, hit one opponent with it and hit another opponent with your strongest move to lay him out, then start climbing for your life....

Orndorff beating down Hogan was an absolute classic... I can still hear Vince screaming "no.... no... NOOOOOO!" as Orndorff gave Hogan the piledriver from hell... But my favorite beatdown was WCW in 96 or 97, when Vincent (aka Virgil) tried to recruit Harlem Heat into the NWO... Vincent makes the wrong comment at the wrong time and Stevie Ray and Booker T just look at each other once and they maul the living hell out of him, ending in a standing side kick to Vincent's jaw that Glacier *wished* that he possessed.... I wish I still had that on tape along with the Faces of Fear squash of High Voltage....

there is anoher live wrestling show that I can throw in there, between the ropes... I;ve been a loyal listener since 2001 and I think that they might be open to this idea as they are just as fed up with the issues that have been debated and discussed as everyone here is. Here are the hosts' email addies: [email protected] [email protected] I would join in, but seeing as I work from 8pm to 4am during the week, I don;t watch the shows anyway, and I keep up with what is going on through this site..... But I am with you in spirit, Rudo.

Also, anonther thing to remember is that you should prioritze you stats towards defense.... both my CAWs (Rendclaw and Killian, aka The Wrecking Crew) have solid 3s across the board in defense.... anything less than that will lead you to getting jobbed out by wrestlers that have high attack ratings where your defense in weakest... that is what leads to some wrestlers getting jobbed out in 30 seconds... Killian is my hoss, about 7'2" and around 350... he has 4 power, 3 speed, 2 tech and 3 roughneck, with 3's across the board in defense. Rendclaw is about the opposite, with I believe a 3 power, 4 speed, 4 tech and 2 roughneck, again with solid 3s in defense... when I started a story with Rendclaw the first time, I think he only had a 2 defense in roughneck, which led him to being jobbed by Taker, Kane, albert, and those others with high Roughneck ratings... speed will only go so far in the game, and at some point you have to go for moves... and getting countered a lot can lead to frustration, as I am sure you all know. More tomorrow for those who care.... of course if you want to know something, just ask.

at one point my CAW had the euro title, the hardcore title, the undisputed title *and* the tag team titles.... holding onto the euro title is nothing as you only defend it during Rebellion and Insurrextion, though.... once you win it its yours for however long you want it. by far the hardest title to retain is the hardcore, as you are put into three-ways, four-ways, five-ways and six-ways constantly... very hard to win under those odds, but possible. Today, after losing the Undisputed title to Eddy Guerrero, I was put in a six-way elimination match for the #1 contender spot... I was *quite* pleased with myself when I beat all of the other five by pinfall...

The biggest thing I had to contend with was the slowdown in action when transitioning from Just Bring It... but I will trade that for the ability of plowing your opponent through the announce tables ANY DAY. The game itself took from Yuke's earlier incarnations which were based on the NJPW promotion... the graphics are better of course but its basically the same game.... I just wish that reversals were a bit easier to pull off without it being a reversal-fest like it was in JBI... Anyway, it comes down to select the right moves, not tjust those that look cool... I fell victim to that when I made my own CAW. I could go into the little tricks I have learned with moves just off using the toe kick, which always sets up my smackdown, unless I have one that I can deliver from behind... The best methods of avoiding the Rock's sequence of punches is to run in another direction away from him, if done right, he will swing and miss and you can pulls a move on him. ::sighs:: time to get ready for work... more later...

Ever since she debuted, I would take Lita over any other diva. Although seeing how she is in eps of Tough Enough, I would definitely go out with Ivory, and Stacy, because I have a weakness for women 5'9" and taller.....

Let us understand something... Ever since WCW got bought out by Vince, how could ANYONE have though that things would turn out any other way than they have? Never mind that the dealings behind the acquisition were shady to say the least, and with HHH we are seeing the anti-Hogan now (a guy that not many can stand but he wins all the time, due to the power of having his future wife as head writer), but with the blown Invasion Angle and then the abortion that was the return of the NWO, I am not really surprised that things are going right down the crapper. As much as he might think otherwise, Vince needs stiff competition. Ever since he became the Bill Gates of sports entertainment (I am having increasing difficulty calling what they do actual wrestling)., his product has been on a steady decline, which has only gotten worse with the brand extension. The problem is that Vince needs to start over again. From zero. He and the writers and bookers need to just stop re-treading what any of us who have watched wrestling for five or ten years or more, and dedicate to putting out quality. I have always though that Vince's biggest mistake was thinking that "any publicity is good publicity". I have to admit that the Katie Vick storyline was the first time in the 25 years that I was ashamed to be a wrestling fan, and I am sure that more than a few people felt the same way. Now, they are scrambling to cover for the fact that HHH simply refuses to perpetuate the cycle of bringing up those who are underneath him as champion. We saw that an WM 19, where the best thing for the company would have been a change at the championship level. I think we are agreed that Hunter has held onto the belt for far too long, and any serious challengers for the title have either been jobbed out or been buried in storylines to kill the contender's heat, or both. But being someone in my now mid-30s, I also know that while he pulls in money for the company, Vince will not feel any motivation to make any major changes at all... there is no other fed even close to large enough to contend for any significant piece of the pie..... TNA is the closest, but by Dames' reviews and bps21's views, they are too damned inconsistent and they are experiencing growing pains, and from what matches and things I have seen, read or heard, I am not inclined to disagree. ROH has the right idea, but they will not get anywhere close to WWE in size, as through the actions of Vince & Co. to stay on top and make it extremely difficult (if not impossible) for another fed to even ascend more than a few rungs on the ladder. Let's face it folks, in its own way, Vince McMahon is not only dominating profession wrestling, he is slowly killing it, too.

The Armageddon HIAC is a TOUGH match to win, but it is possible.... pick the weakest superstar and try to focus on him.... beat him down when possible and then get a submission hold on him... a Smackdown submission hold if possible (such as the Anglelock or Flair's figure-four). Trying to get a pinfall is extremely hard, but I have done that as well... again, isolate the weakest wrestler and fill up the meter, and execute.... try and be as far from the action as possible when you go for the pin.

The best singles squash I can remember (with an honorable mention to Taker vs. Snuka at WM VII) was Vader vs. Tom Zenk at the Great American Bash 89.... if the Z-Man hadn't braced for the Splash properly, Vader would have KILLED him. The best tag team squash is a draw between The Road Warriors vs. a jobber team, where they got the pinfall after Animal hit one of the jobbers with a clothesline that Bradshaw would give his right nut to possess. The other squash is the Faces of Fear vs. High Voltage during Nitro back in 96.... as a friend of a friend said about it, "Non-stop pain."
