I like the idea of a TV championship... the problem is that it can't be booked and used effectively until TNA goes to two hours. Remember the WCW days, where no matter what show it was on (Saturday Night, Nitro, etc.) you had the TV champ defending the belt every single time. Again, if done correctly, the TV title can be used to take a wrestler to the next level. A decent say, two to three month reign can do quite a bit for a wrestler, no matter if he is a face or heel. To answer topic, I have to agree with the consensus. Neither man can really afford to take a loss right now, with Monty gaining momentum and Christian coming in red-hot. I would book it as some sort of non-finish regardless of how it would "kill" a PPV (easy way out of that is to make a series out of it, say best of five over the next several Impacts culminating at the next PPV). Christian needs to do more to establish himself. If Benoit or Jericho were coming in, hell yes, plug them right into the World Title picture, but not a second-tier WWE guy. A few warmup matches and then a program with someone near the top to keep his heat going, THEN start him in the title hunt. I don't put much stock into the standings this early in the season, as I think teams like Houston, Denver, and Indiana are underperforming at the moment, and teams like Milwaukee and the Clippers are overperforming. I think most of us called that the Warriors would play well coming into this season, and 5-4 isn't too bad for them at this point. Probably even worse if you wanted to put the current standings into where they rank in each conference.. (in order of 1st-8th) East: Detroit, Philly, Washington, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Miami, Indiana, and New Jersey. West: Spurs, Clips, Minnesota, Dallas, Memphis, Warriors, Lakers, and Portland. The issue is to me that they tried to be all about football for the past few years, and things like this tape is what they are and have been for 20 years or so. If I didn;t know better, I would say you;re asking such a question to just be contrary. I jumped right in with a CAW, as I didn;t see the control scheme as something so radically different that I needed to warm up. I have to say that the CAW engine is so different, it took me almost two hours to create my namesake from start to finish, and even then there is some tweaking that needs to be done. So far so goodin story mode, though I must say that I got a perverse thrill out of beating Trips for the title with a much inferior CAW, even if Bischoff ripped it from me in some sort of swerve. Virgil Runnels clause, indeed.

I got my copy today, and I plan on delving in after I get home from work. ::chuckles:: what? I have my priorities straight; I am going to need rest before I go back to work, then I plan on making my namesake CAW and then trying out the different modes, I figure I go through season mode twice to build my CAW and then going on to making my Killian, Low-Ki and Samoa Joe CAWs, and then I might stop... No matter how good the game is, I am simply not going to delete my HCTP save. No way. I put way too much work into those CAWs.

its slow to load for some reason. Taz circa 95-97 vs. Samoa Joe would be epic. Taz was a pretty decent worker. I just personally think he gets overlooked because of where he was instead of what he was doing. His entire gimmick during those days was that he rarely used weapons, because his hands were his weapons. The matches with Shane Douglas were actually excellent leading up to Taz taking the World title off of him. But for maximum effect, it would have to be Taz during his TV title run. He had pretty much everything going for him from about Taz may have been short (5'8"?), but was at least 240 legit and he packed a wallop in his strikes. Add that to his judo background and his suplexes, and I think it could have been a match for the ages. I could see Joe having a bit of a problem dealing with his low center of gravity and surprising strength, just as I could see Taz getting frustrated by Joe's quickness and ability to counter most of what Taz threw at him. I could see a draw in one match, though in a best of seven series, I think Joe would win 4-3.

Not everyone can cut a Rock or Ric Flair level promo at the drop of a hat. Benoit is passable on the mic, but where he does the majority of his talking is in the ring, and it always has been that was for him. While mic work is a factor in what makes a wrestler decent, good or even great, at times it is overstated.
