I went back and forth on it as there is no wrong pick between them, but I would choose Benoit, because at least until they got their TV deal, the focus for TNA was (and still should be) wrestling. Of course with the TV deal they have to build the brand and establish the personalities of their workers, but if you put a gun to my head and said "Choose or die", I would take Benoit. He is respected the world over (especially in Japan: remember the pops he got for that Raw in Tokyo?) and his in-ring work is about as perfect as can be. Sure, Jericho is a better talker and is more charismatic, but I would rather see what Benoit can do when the shackles of the WWE wrestling style are taken off of him. I think I have seen one dragon suplex from him in the last two or three years. Sure he can;t do as much as he used to because of the neck surgery, but he is still better right now that about 98% of the Raw roster, and will be when he retires.

Agreed, but it was still compelling to watch, like that three-car pileup on the highway. Necro is Mick Foley without the wrestling talent. Or the personality, for that matter.
-
That is absolutely nothing compared to this. It was a wonder Necro didn't come away with a fractured skull.
-
Honestly, what could they do? That first match was so damned brutal from start to finish, what could they possibly do to top it? Have Joe actually cripple Necro? If he takes any more of those shots where his head literally hits the floor, he would be crippled at the very least. That's the first time in a long time where I actually cringed during a match.
-
That's a pity. He's had back problems for a long time too, and the dude is what, 25?
-
Holy fucking shit. Necro has to be the most masochistic wrestler I have seen since Foley.
-
I just watched the first five minutes of his IWA match with Necro Butcher, and all I can say is, daaaaamn. "How does someone get powerslammed on their forehead??" Absolutely gold. Its just a pity Punk went for the E, because the guy can talk up a storm and what he says makes sense, when he isn;t putting himself over, that is. And to think that Jericho put him over big time last night.... if this keeps up, Joe will pretty much own TNA by the end of '06.

I don't buy systems for the live aspect. I simply buy them to play the games I want to play (Example: I bought a GC because I wanted Rebel Strike, then I was recommended Tales of Symphonia, which along with Crazy Taxi are the only game I have for it).

Okay, I have had my XBox for about a year now, and its been working fine. I haven;t modded it, and haven't played it anywhere near as much as my PS2. I took it over to my ex's house a couple times to play games, and brought it home. It was unplugged for I dunno, about a month... I plugged it in and the light around the eject button is flashing yellow and green. I don't think that I have done anything to damage it, but it will not load any games or even go to the main screen. Can anyone help?

okay then, send me some info.

Either name works, but the combination of both actually works. Good for him.

I'm downloading that match right now. EDIT: And speaking of THE MAN~! he's being interviewed on Between The Ropes right now. He is about as laid back a dude as I have ever heard... and pretty bright as well. On another tangent, was anyone else shocked to hear just how deep Low-Ki's voice was?

I type quickly and instead of hitting the apostrophe key, I hit the semi-colon key a lot. Unless I make some spelling errors, I'm not going to edit the post because of that. Call me lazy, but I think I get my point across. Very good way of putting it, OSI. It's been so long since I have seen a wrestler *really* wrestling, I almost forgot what it looks like, and Joe is such a refreshing change from the WWE-style of wrestling that we al have been force-fed for years, its just a joy to watch him work. The guys on Between The Ropes had been hyping him for a long time, and now I understand why. And those videos are cool as hell. I haven;t seen him bust out the Chimera-plex in TNA yet, so that was fun to watch.

I love the guy. His in-ring work speaks for itself at this point. I think that aside from the Lyger match, I have yet to see a out-and-out bad match from him. And its not just his moveset that impresses me, its his psychology and expressions in the ring that really set him apart. There was a point during the Sabin match where he looked pissed off legitimately that he didn't get a submission from Sabin after hooking in three different submission holds, and *chaining them together*. While mic work is important in having the total package, there are those who don;t need it, and in my opinion its a touch overrated. Sure you need to be able to get your point across in a promo, but not everyone is a Rock, who can cut a razor-sharp promo at the drop of a hat. I don;t think that at this stage of his career, Joe doesn;t need to be stellar on the mic, as his skills in the ring overshadow it. I am simply in awe of the man.

LL Cool J giving a verbal beatdown on Booker T the week after Stone Cold kicked his ass in a supermarket.

You have to be at least 7 feet tall for that to happen. Ask Big Show.

I could see another Atlanta nightclub incident happening, and Ray Lewis being in the middle. That idea just made me laugh. Is that wrong of me?

I'm as big a Star Wars fan as can be (and still be classified sane), but I don;t know, something about the game kinda turned me off to it... I'll get back to it one of these days, but until then, it sits on the bedroom floor along with the other Xbox games.

This is what you will get with Larry Brown, as he did the same thing in Detroit. He never played the younger players, instead choosing to ride the starters way too long, which resulted in them losing out on their second championship. I think this season he is going to get exposed as being inflexible in his ideals, and its going to seriously cost both him and the Knicks. And it couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

One and Only Star Wars Geekiness Thread
Rendclaw replied to Black Lushus's topic in Television & Film
I said it earlier in this thread. You cannot underestimate the manipulative powers of Palpatine. I have no problem believing that he put himself in that predicament to get Anakin to turn, and confident that he would do so. He masterminded and accelerated the collapse of the Republic. Is this such a stretch? -
My heart says he will jump, but my brain says he is going to resign. The fan in me would LOVE to see a Benoit/Joe matchup, but no... ::sigh::
-
much, much better special than BFG, and BFG wasn't bad.
-
Gail Kim is just yummy.
-
that was the match they *wanted* at BFG. and no, the Abyss chant sucks. As I said before, its the crowd make fools of themselves to get attention... And here we are giving it to them.
-
I rest my case. With my luck I would kill five before I got it to work right. Though I would love to throw a 200 or 300 GB drive in there, and transfer all of my music and ROMs....
