    New Diva signed

And I will say it again. You can say whatever you want about her face, but you KNOW you would hit it if you got the opportunity, without putting a bag over her head. Kids and their high-ass standards today... sheesh.

    NBA Week 1

I saw the Pistons actually having fun on the court, something that was sorely lacking in the Larry Brown Regime. What's more, Flip actually used the bench. What with the balance of power shifting towards the East now (and lets face it: where Shaq goes, the balance of power goes with him), I see at least five teams contending for the conference championship. I love how everyone and their mother are picking the Spurs to run away with the title though, though a few came around and picked the Pistons after they destroyed the Sixers. This is going to be a hell of a season to watch.

    Taito Legends

Phoenix is about as legendary a game as they come. When you think about it, 1980 was such a watershed for video games.... you had a LOT of arcade games coming out, and most of them were damned good.

    Taito Legends

Umm, no. It was great, it still is a blast to pull it out and play in emulation, but the greatest game of all time? Hardly.

What makes a 5 star match?

Wargames from 91 and 92??? He must have been drunk, high, or both. 87 blows both of those matches out of the water, because the buildup to it was downright masterful. You had the Horsemen at the top of their game and trying to take out Dusty before Wargames, you had them trying to destroy Nikita DURING Wargames, and you had the Road Warriors just being themselves. I know that I have said that my love for that match is very high, but the storylines surrounding both matches from 87 went way beyond what the ones in 91 and 92 did. Its like NBA Dream Team 92 being the gold standard for any Dream Team that was to follow. It just couldn;t be topped.

My Gut Feeling On Vince And His Booking

That's exactly right. And just like the Roman Empire, we are and have been seeing for the past three years the steady decline.... and Vince going to more extremes to massage his own ego and to "give the fans what they want". I won;t go so far as to say he never gave the fans what they wanted, but ever since he inherited the throne from his father who had a decent mind for the business in retrospect, it became more about him and less about wrestling as the years passed, until he came up with the moniker "sports entertainment" circa 1985. Thats when he crested and started going down the slippery slope. He crashed and burned once, then rose from the ashes during the Attitude era, and now he is again fast heading downwards. I was a fan from way the hell back, circa 1980-81, when I saw a card on MSG (Fuck, those were they days). It was fun to watch, the booking was pretty good from what I can remember, and Vince Sr. was willing to take chances, like putting the tag belts on an all-black tag team. Its almost sad to see what it has become 25 years later.

My Gut Feeling On Vince And His Booking

Vince has done this ever since WCW and ECW went under and he bought them up. I have been saying this every since I came onto this board two years ago plus.

    Your personal killer apps

Anyone who thinks that any of these consoles are going to be anything more than what they are deserves to be misled, despite slick advertising. They are there for games, with them *maybe* being a second DVD player, which shortens the life of the console. Perhaps a bell here and a whistle there, but come on.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

Nah, I have that finisher for my Saturn CAW and it doesn;t look all that good to me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Did you try the Black Out in HCTP? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'll take a look at it..

    Christian Quits the WWE

Exactly. He really came into his own and as it has been previous stated, he got over on his own with his mic work. I would love to see what he can do in the ring once he realizes that he doesn;t have to work the bland WWE style of wrestling. He is decent in the ring for sure, but if he does cut that semi-shoot promo, he will be more over than he was at any point in the E. This is going to be a trend, methinks. I think several wrestlers will "defect" next year when their contracts expire, and TNA could seriously benefit from some of them. They just have to choose wisely amongst those that might do what Christian did. They CAN land on their feet, and not have be on tour for 300 days out of the year. We'll see how it all plays out.

Yeah, after doing a little searching around on the net, that's what it was. Thanks anyway, though.

    iMPACT 10/29 thread

That's what kills me about that crowd. It makes TNA look good, but damn if they aren't some self-serving jackasses at times. But that kind of crap started back in Nashville with the Face and Heel sections. Its been on a slippery slope since then. And yes, Hoyt does need to go. He's terrible.

    OAO Impact Special Thread

I have to admit that Smackdown was actually pretty decent this Friday. And I agree, it is time for character development. I am praying they don;t blow it when it does start.

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

I've met Samoa Joe and I'll say he's exactly 6'0. Aries is smaller then you think he is. He looks 5'8 but he's like at Mysterio levels. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tenay has been reporting his height properly for the past few weeks, though at Unbreakable he listed him at 6'8". I still have to fix my CAW.

    Future WWE Main Eventers

I think Burchill made a mistake in going to the E. I love Shelton to death, but I wonder whom he pissed off in the back to get the treatment he is getting now? Whomever's tagline it is that says how seeing him perform a maneuver as simple of a dropkick makes him giddy, thats how I feel. He just is not good, on the mike or in the ring. How he is where he is boggles me. But yes, Masters is going to get the mega-push in the next six months.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

Thats the Mexican Stretch Buster, which is close enough in my book. Its perfect for a Samoa Joe CAW, though getting a good Rear Naked Choke is a bit difficult.

    iMPACT 10/29 thread

They seriously need to pull the trigger with the NAO reunion, like, yesterday. Killings needs to be on his own or with a better partner than either Konnan or BG, and he has way too much talent to continually be saddled with what he has now. 3LK has outlived its usefulness, and I couldn't care less now when BG does that intro, he's been doing it for the latter part of 10 years. Its old and tired. It must be me, but I am not feeling Roderick Strong at all. Okay, he has some unique backbreakers, but what else does he have? Every time I see him he gets to pull out a backbreaker spot or two, and thats pretty much it for him. Team 3D could have done a better promo. I was a touch disappointed by it, not to mention it was obvious it was snipped here and there. The Daniels match was okay, but yeah I think this week's show was meh, in light of the primetime special coming.

Top 10 Consoles According to G4 Fans

For IV they went too far in the other direction. Just when it starts getting good, the game is over. It goes by way too quickly. That's another problem with some recent RPGs. They aren't long enough. I expect more than 20 hours of play in an RPG. I can forgive it in Suikoden I since it was the first, but they should know better these days. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Most of the new RPGS are trying to re-invent the wheel, which is where they all trip themselves up. Take the new Shining Force as an example. They should have kep it as the tactical RPG it was instead of making it an action/strategy RPG. They focus too much on the bells and whistles instead of the meat and potatoes: good gameplay, good storyline, and make it at LEAST 40 hours to complete with decent replayability.

We all know that the 360 is going to make a huge splash, right? Even though I doubt I am going to buy a first-gen ps3, anything to have it come out sooner is fine by me.
