Steiners vs. Freebirds, GAB 89.

You do know who you're dealing with, right? That whole "you knew I was a snake, why are you surprised I bit you" type dealie. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly. The whole thing was totally unneccessary. They would have gotten a much better result if they had JR get on the mic and just tell the audience what was going on, but nooooo, why not turn the damn thing into a write-off storyline? Every time I think my dislike for what the E is doing cannot slip any lower, it does.

I always thought Gail Kim was hot, but what had impressed me more was her alleged ability back when those training vids were circulating. I guess a couple matches with Trish and Victoria exposed her, and not in the way I would like her exposed.
-
I would do that in a heartbeat. CAWs, or just established characters? run a search on "comparison shopping PS2 network adaptor" I found one for $13.

Should have been higher. Regal is one of the nastiest mat wrestlers I have seen, even now. And his counters were pretty damned good, too. I remember his matches with Fit Finlay, they were brutal in a good way.

Baby steps indeed... this is good news for sure, but yes they need to keep that number consistent, especially if they do get two hours... if TNA getting two hours was already brokered in the deal they made with Spike, then the formula becomes apparent: Showcase all of our stars while we have one hour, then kick things up a notch when we get two hours. Speaking of you DA, when's the next Danger Zone? Its been almost two weeks.

1. Wrestlefest: The roster may have been small, but no other game took as many of my quarters/tokens as that one. I was the king of the mountain at my local arcade the day I beat the game on one continue. DiBiase and the Warrior were perfect compliments to one another. 2. Mat Mania/Mania Challenge/Tag Team Wrestling (tie): Simply because I cannot make up my mind on which of the three is better than the other. Tag Team Wrestling was the first wrestling game I ever played, I had immense fun with it, and played it whenever I found it. Mat Mania/Mania Challenge were both games that were tons of fun, but once I turned the game over at a million points thanks to a simple and cheesy strategy to garner points, it became old hat. Coco Savage was one of the hardest opponents EVER. 3. Here Comes The Pain: Even though the game is two years old now, this was WWE/Yuke's closest attempt at getting it right. Excellent CAW, changeable rosters, and a lot of storylines that I am still finding to this day, its the best and easiest to learn wrestling game out there, IMO. I'm still making CAWs for it, and having fun raising them up. SvR was a major step backwards for this franchise, and while SvR 2006 seems to be going in the right direction, we shall see how it translates.

That would have been an excellent feud. The story practically writes itself, but no, were stuck with the usual fare. The six-man was pretty decent, but these kind of things should have been taking place well before they started feeling the heat of TNA's success. I hate to beat the dead horse, but this is what it takes for the quality of matches to go up... and they haven't gone up all that much. The only thing holding Shelton back in his ability on the mic, and that's fairly average. He has wrestling talent galore, as well as the athleticism to make his wrestling ability look that much better. I hope he is socking away every cent he earns, because people aren't really seeing how good he is, and the prolly won't until he joins TNA.

Nice to see I was right about Trips. A nice fat 95, though I can't argue too much about the way his stats shake out.

Its examples like that that make me think that Rudo should be on a creative team somewhere. Not overly complicated, but not too simplistic, and it flat-out works.

I'll be interested in what he has to say about this week.

That Torture Rack Drop was fairly nasty.

Nice way to misspell Siaki's name.

I was highly impressed by Aries. And losses don;t mean as much as you might think... not right now.

And Gold sinks the jump shot from 25 feet away.

The Three Faces of Hogan is very disappointing. I kind of thought that Taker and Classic Undertaker was a bit much for HCTP, until I played against both of them. Looks like I get to make Vader again after my namesake, Low-Ki, and Killian. Ah well.

I won several tournaments back when SF2: CE came out doing this very thing...that was BEFORE tournament organizers got smart and realized they should probably outlaw said occurence.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I swear by the corner trap. I worship the corner trap at the church of my choice. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thank God SFA made cheesy fighters pay for their lame strategies with the Alpha Counter. I absolutely hated 3rd Strike. It wasn't bad for an attempt to revitalize SF, but it was lacking in something.

While on this topic, I would love to find those Joshi matches they had in WCW circa 1996-97. Any ideas?

Wasn;t that his modus operandi? Then again, neither was Snuka.

Unless she was a beard, explain Molly Holly. She and Sylvain had been together for quite some time, according to the guys on BTR.

That's because he was like Danny Davis, the wrestler-turned-heel ref-turned wrestler. He was rather undersized, nothing in his moveset to really catch your eye, and an average wrestler at best. There wasn't anything to do with him once that feud against DiBiase ended, and so he fell by the wayside. That one banner I saw with him was funny and sad at the same time.

I marked big time when he did the Claw, though I marked a little more when I saw the Bionic Elbow.

Now that I remember it, I pissed off my roommate royally when I Tiger Uppercut-ed her Blanka out of her Roll attack. She wouldn;t speak to me for at least an hour.

What year did WWE start to lose their edge?
Rendclaw replied to CBright7831's topic in The WWE Folder
I was just going to say that. When WCW started to seriously suck, you could almost hear Vince and company do a downshift. And to whomever said about the Invasion angle being a "vague, orgsmic fantasy" or something close to that: This was an angle that could have *made* the E for years to come actually, and I do not exaggerate when I say that. Any one of us here could have booked that angle a lot better than they did, never mind guys that I think have the imagination, such as Rudo. It was almost a can;t miss opportunity, but because the established wrestlers could not put aside their own egos and the writers could not come up with an original thought either on their own or come up with one that Vince and his inner circle would not shoot down, it was fucked up totally. That angle could have been done even halfway decent for at least a year, maybe even two, but nope. I would have to say right around 2000-2001 is where I really started losing faith in what the E was bringing to the table. -
I wouldn;t mind seeing a Raw Vs. Smackdown 8 man match at SS. With the way that smosh went, you would think it was leaning that way. And yes, the show was predictable from start to finish. Between myself and a friend of mine, we called the whole show from top to bottom.
