I just loved how Trips squashed both Carlito and Masters while hardly breaking a sweat. I have to admit I'm curious about the potential of this feud, but then I remember what it is and who is in it, and I'm deflated like a untied balloon.

This just happened. I'm playing my Samoa Joe CAW against Taker backstage. We're on top of the cage, with Taker near the ledge. I run at him and do a go behind and hit the overhead release german suplex, and marked out as I watched Taker fly over the edge and land on the back on his head, about 12 feet down. It should be something of a KO, but it was still cool to see. EDIT: And I got the three count off of it. Fucking sweet.

Agreed. At the very least it will force the E to step their game up (so to speak), and at the most, TNA will keep growing over the remainder of this year and into the next, so maybe by 2007 they could be the next WCW, just with a smaller bankroll. My problem is that you know that if TNA becomes a serious threat, Vince is going to start buying out wrestlers with the goal of imploding TNA. I haven't seen Bobby Lashley yet, so I am going to withhold comment until I see him. Monty does have a lot of personality and charisma, though, and that's half the battle. He has at the least SOME ability, and thats another 12.5% of the battle. What remains is to put the charisma and ability together. The remaining

Definitely. Too much too fast will kill this company as surely as just staying in Orlando. The good thing about being in Orlando is that its centrally located, and you can get there in three to five hours from practically anywhere else in the state. Georgia is the next logical step, as there has always been a strong wrestling fanbase and like the rest of the country, they're starving for good wrestling. And this might be a little too much to ask, but their main stars are going to have to be injury-free for at least a year to keep TNA growing.

The question is, will TNA ignore and defend it in court?

I have watched matches and PPVs wherever I could, mostly by downloading, but I relied on Dames' and bps' reviews to keep me up to speed, and they did. There were times where I felt like I was actually watching the action. I have watched Impact on FSN whenever I could, and I have been looking forward to this ever since I caught wind of Spike landing TNA. The show was good for what it was and what it will be for about a month or so: showcasing their top talent and explaining storylines. November will be a definite turning point, once they accomplish the first step.

Thank you, Dames.... its funny how I read the Diatribe right along with the Styles and Monty Brown matches.... you haven't missed much, and what you have lost you'll gain back after a few Impact reviews.. not much rust to knock of at all.
-
I just might trade this in for Live... the learning curve is pretty damned steep for a game that completely revamped the control scheme, and I simply cannot get a good camera angle, like I did with 2k5. Its pretty frustrating right now.

I won several tournaments back when SF2: CE came out doing this very thing...that was BEFORE tournament organizers got smart and realized they should probably outlaw said occurence.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cheeseball. People had a lot of trouble beating me before I started using Sagat's special attacks because I played a defensive game, and Sagat's reach was wonderful just for that. Mix in a few Tiger Shots, some Uppercuts, and some knees, and I was pretty damned good. Needless to say I was not happy when the gave him an "upgrade" in Alpha. Even when they upped his speed in Alpha 2, it just didn;t work well.
-
I don;t think they will wait past the 22nd to bring him in.... I want to see him too, even though the odds are that he is going to get a squash.
-
Its usually within a week or two, isn't it? I know WWE's usually come out within 14 days of a PPV in order to include the buys of the second showing, especially if its one of the big four.
-
It's not like WWE is heavily invested in their own character. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A-fucking-men to that. Well said.
-
I understand you don;t want to half ass anything Dames, but like everyone else who is clamoring for the return of the Diatribe, I'm in the same boat. The Diatribe and Brandon's shoot interviews were the main reason why I came to TSM. They kept me informed, entertained and awake during a shitty swing shift job that I had in a data center. Speaking of Brandon, I wonder where he is.. I rarely see him anymore. He *is* teke184, isn;t he?
-
Sagat I think was second in overall character strength, as I remember just wiping out people at times with a fierce Tiger Uppercut.... and the Tiger Knee was awesome for anti-fireball techniques when used right.... that double hit was devastating when used in a combo. But nothing was cheesier than Bison and corner traps.

If Vader is a Legend, I just might go against what I said previously and buy it outright.

They have a PPV each month, so it's 12 times a year. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Okay then, set up the rotation so each one alternates and its three times a year. On that note, wouldn;t you think that TNA will have to scale back the number of PPVs to six, maybe even four now?
-
I think that's vote #2.
-
::no-sells Mike:: I vote for Dames for the weekly shows, with either Laz, bps, or Baddboi doing the PPVs. Maybe a three or four man rotation, that way each one does it once a year.. TNA does have PPVs four times a year, right? Or is it more? EDIT: are things that hectic for you Dames, that you couldn't do a weekly show?

Sony bought up the DC license, Andrew. Expect a Justice League game soon.

The problem would be that JJ would no sell the ENTIRE OCEAN since that's what Aquaman would throw at him, then JJ would hit THE STROKE! and get the pin <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd pay to see someone no sell the Entire Ocean. But it would have to be believable. JJ vs. ALL Ocean Animals in SIX SIDES OF STEEL! JJ with THE STROKE ON JAWS~! ONE...TWO...NO!!! JAWS KICKED OUT!!! JAWS KICKED OUT!!!!! ORCA WITH A STEEL CHAIR!!!! ITS OVER~! Dames <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is the funniest thing I have read since the Bloom County strip on pro wrestling. Thank you Dames, I really needed that. My next question is, who is going to do the weekly Impact review? Seeing how we have at least three people here with good wrestling knowledge and a solid background in TNA, the choice should be interesting.
-
This was a damned good debut, and I am definitely in next week. You're right on point, Dames. They haven;t even showcased Joe or Daniels yet. Even if they are squashes, just seeing them will generate more interest, but they were wise to hold some things back. I think it would also be wise to show that triple threat match on InDemand. Showing a few of their best matches over the last year or two would also garner a lot more interest.

And once again I marked the hell out when they gave AMW the 3D...
-
If they stay away from that, they will be fine...
-
I am loving the way this is looking... done very well so far.

Powerslave was probably Maiden's nadir... Dance of Death is above average, but nothing touches what they did between 1982 and 1985
