    Rewriting History

I'm definitely liking this, 1997 was enough to turn me into an ECW convert... are you using EWR for this?

    The best signs ever

Hogan fears Rogaine was one of the funniest ones I remember seeing.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

Yeah, I have to say that I am rather indifferent on the Legends myself. The only ones I even had any desire to use were the Road Warriors, and that was pretty much it. Its a nice idea to be sure, but only if its done right, and it hasn't been anywhere near right. SvR was close until they included Brutus, and that just killed it for me.

    Bad Games That You Love

I remember having Super Baseball Simulator 1.000 for the Snes.. I was a huge Braves fan at the time so I made that lineup and played with both normal and the super settings... that was a fun game to be sure...

The wrestler voiceovers are just the hugest waste of space.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

That is rather annoying, I have to admit. The dumbing down of the names of the moves didn;t exactly annoy me, and anytime I started feeling that way, I had to remind myself that it was done for the wrestling fan, not for smarks.

    Hopkins vs. Taylor

This hopefully will teach Hopkins that he cannot wait until several rounds into the fight to get going.

    Darko Milicic

That's the thing that kills me about it. The majority of what is going on is not his fault. He's not totally blameless though, especially after he opened his mouth about playing time earlier this year. Speaking of busts, Kwame Brown is doing a lot of chirping. Thoughts?

Comments that don't warrant a thread

For what it was, Apocalypse was pretty good. I simply cannot watch Street Fighter. I'm still angry at the 7.50 and the two hours of my life wasted, and that was back in what, 95, 96? MK still is the best video game movie ever made and Annihilation was a steaming pile of dog crap.... I've gone on rants about it before, no need for that to be regurgitated.

Great spots from Wrestling Video Games

Just happened... I'm playing SvR with my Low-Ki CAW and I am in a triple threat match against Christian and Benoit, with Charlie Haas helping out Christian. Christian throws Benoit out of the ring, and he and Hass start doubleteaming him with attacks. I take the opportunity to line up the attack, run towards the ropes, and execute a perfect spinning plancha ala Hector Garza, taking out all three men. That's one of those moments that will never happen again... but I am glad to have pulled it off.

    Bad Games That You Love

Royal Rumble was the best of them all... I loved using Shawn Michaels' atomic drop going right into that nasty back suplex finisher he had... now that he's done a heel turn, he should start busting that out again.

Wing Commander was okay for what it was. RE: Apocalypse was awesome. I think that Milla Jovovich has found her rightful place, especially after these movies and The Fifth Element.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

I seriously doubt Savage will ever make it onto a modern-day WWE game as a Legend, even though most of us would love to see it.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

I have to admit I'm getting a little jones, and have been satisfying it by playing SvR... I think if there is one saving grace about the game, its that you can use the XP you earn in story mode to build another wrestler's stats. I hope they carry that over, as it makes raising up CAWs infinitely easier. That makes going through the same limited story mode a little less painful.

    Darko Milicic

I agree, Rip. My major knock against Larry Brown is the fact that he never plays younger players, a fact that was glaring in the Olympics. That philosophy basically bit the Pistons in ther collective asses in the postseason, when the starters came up *just* short in Game 7 of the Finals. I am convinced that if Brown had loosened up his rotation, the starters would have been fresher for the postseason and perhaps had won through. But thats spiltting hairs, I guess. The way things are looking right now, Larry Brown is coming back for this season. Personally, I am so over the drama its ridiculous. From Larry's flirting with other teams, to the media (both local and national) blowing it up to the point of bombasticity (is that a word?), I just want this to end with Larry honoring his contract (for once) and not ever hearing about it again, but I know that it will start up all over again, particularly if the Pistons fall short or god forbid miss the playoffs altogether.

    Biggest Non-Surprises

Ric Flair regaining the title a week to a month after losing it. After the first two times that became my indication of what was wrong with NWA/WCW back in the day. Hogan retaining the title after about two years into his title reign. Of course he was WWF's then cash cow so it made sense to keep the title on him, but five years plus was a little bit much.

Since I use nothing but CAWs in season mode, that works just fine for me.

    Darko Milicic

The way things are going with Larry Brown right now, I think the best thing for Darko is Flip Saunders. I agree that the kid needs playing time, but at the same time he hadn't been able to participate in critical playing time in the summer camps due to injury. That took away crucial time that could have developed Darko's abilities. If Brown comes back, I don;t think there is any way Darko is going to see PT during the season unless he shows *massive* (for Larry) improvement in the camps. He is on his way towards becoming a better player, thanks to a better attitude and gaining some maturity somewhere between being drafted at 17 to the present day. I think he will be a good player, if not great. I just hope that it happens with the Pistons, rather than elsewhere.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

Hopefully those features will be in the first Smackdown game for the PS3. That kind of AI would be easier to place in a next-gen system, I would think. And I agree about the tag team mode, it was fun to play as your partner as well as yourself. And I also agree about the stables. If you are going to take the time and create a stable, you should be able to use it AT ANY TIME. Exhibition, Story Mode, anytime. Let your partner do a run-in and let your opponent deal with it... or also have your opponent's stable members come down to make the save... Make it more like the 80s and 90s, when wrestling was fun, dammit.

    NBA Draft

Unfortunately that stigma that Michigan State has of being soft underachievers is going to stick to that batch of players, and Alan is the first one.

The Top 50 NBA Players of My Generation

Getting back on topic... Kareem certainly does get overlooked. He is one of the top 5 centers of all time, and the only one who didn't overlook him is Magic himself. He knew that in order to really be successful, the Lakers had to be able to get it done in the half court as well as on the break, and that usually means getting your center involved. Even though Kareem was on the downside of his career, he was still effective, and the way Magic would set him up would maximize his chances to be so.

    NBA Offseason Stuff

The Nets have to do something, because Vince Carter was not the answer last year. That team has been either declining or stuck ever since K-Mart went to Denver, and getting Vince created some buzz, but they would be idiots to think that that alone would get them over the hump. Shareef can score, but that's pretty much it for him. As Charles Barkley said in a Nike commercial, any knucklehead can score. Something else is needed there. That squad does sound intriguing, I have to admit, but I don't think that Ray Allen would go to the Clippers. There is chasing the money, then there is selling your soul. Until the Clippers shed that aura that they have had for forever and a day, no one who isn't in it for the paycheck will go there willingly. Why Elton Brand stays there when he could have his pick of almost any team in the league still mystifies me to this day.
