Camby is not as good as he once was, but at least he is a bandage on the hemorrhaging wound that is the Clippers franchise.

Awesome, but can you get both 1987 WarGames matches? Aren't the both of them on the Horsemen DVD?

And where the hell have YOU been, man?? I'm still smarting over how the Pistons performed (or did not perform) in the playoffs, but after hearing that there are grumblings of them getting McGrady.. That is at least them trading Rasheed and Tayshaun... maybe even Rip too. I have no qualms about Rasheed going at all, and losing Tayshaun is going to hurt a lot on the defensive end.. Rip would be a mistake, I think.... I am not totally sure that this would be a step up for the Pistons at all...

I usually have one of three subs, all fixed pretty much the same way... Chicken Bacon Ranch Roast Beef Peppercorn Turkey All on wheat bread with melted swiss, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, oil and vinegar... though the chicken bacon ranch gets a little bit of the ranch sauce

Oh its coming, there is NO FUCKING WAY that Marvel would tease something like that in two movies and not deliver.

The Things That Anger You Thread.

If you are renting the apartment, man the fuck up and tell him to get the fuck out. If its her name on the lease, you;re fucked. Just make sure he doesn't break or steal your shit. -
I have to admit it was a great movie. I'm really digging the crossovers they;re doing, as it does not fail to hype you up for the coming Avengers movie.

Oh, that wacky Bill Simmons.

I was so mad after game 3 and the Pistons blowing a golden opportunity, I could not show my face in here because I would have gone on a Denis Leary-style rant. I'm glad that they bounced back and squashed the Celtics in game 4, and like the rest of the Piston fans I sit here asking the question that every Piston fan asks: Why can't they play this way every FUCKING night??? Oh believe me, I know the answer. This is who they are. They in a space of two games can look utterly unbeatable one game, then the next night you wonder how they even got into the playoffs because they play so badly. This is the ultimate Jekyll and Hyde team. They can look like world beaters and then look totally disinterested sometimes in the very same game. They try and throw the switch and sometimes the lights goes on, and sometimes every light in the house burns out at the same time. I just don't know what they can or should do about it, aside from firing Flip Saunders and blowing up the team. That's not going to happen now, especially if they win through. In a couple of years sure, because several players are going to really start to lose it, and the Pistons are going to have to rebuild. They have a good nucleus of young players, and they are going to be a decent team for years to come, just not good enough to win the title without getting a really good draft selection in the coming years. Joe Dumars has his work cut out for him when Chauncey, McDyess, and Rasheed either retire or get traded. Rip Hamilton is going to be the elder statesman on the Pistons with 8 years in, and Lindsey Hunter is taking a front office job after this year is done. But getting back to this playoff run, consistency is the word that the Pistons need to look up and keep in mind.

Slow down. If the Lakers blow out the Spurs in SA, I will agree with everything you said. The Spurs are not going to go quietly, despite getting beat in game 1 and hammered in game 2.

Thank goodness that the Pistons weathered that storm. I would have punched a wall if they gave that game back to the Celtics, AND I had to go back to work with like 10.7 left in the fourth. After I got done I ran to one of the computers at work to make sure the Pistons didn't give that game back. Talk about sigh of relief. And yes, Ray Allen finally showed tonight. I have always been behind Shuttlesworth ever since his UConn days. Loved him as a Husky. Its just a pity that Seattle never really went anywhere during the prime of his career, and to me its obvious he is on the downswing. And Kobe in Game 1 was more of the mind games between him and Phil. He has pulled it before in the playoffs.

Huh? Just watch. David Stern would LOVE a Lakers/Celtics matchup, as its going to draw a lot more eyeballs than any other one, so I expect a little bit tilted towards Boston and LA in the way of weird and terrible calls against Detroit and San Antonio.
-
I honestly don;t want to see Celtics/Lakers at all, because everyone is reminiscing of a dead and bygone era. Those teams are long dead, and despite all the hype, the series would never get close to living up it. The Lakers would tear apart a tired and beaten down Celtics team, especially if the Pistons took them to 6 or 7 games before falling. I would love to see Pistons/Lakers and watch Kobe get stoned in another attempt to validate his career and team by getting a championship post-Shaq. I would be more fearful if they had a fully healthy Bynum, but I doubt that it goes past six games. I think that Pistons/Spurs is going to happen despite Stern's best efforts to the contrary.

Three Doors Down is one of the better bands from when they were starting out. To me, that's real rock music. Not over-processed or detuned. The lyrics are emo sure, but hey, no band on Earth is perfect. Hell, I love Iron Maiden until the cows come home, but I still think they should get rid of Janick's noisemaking soloing ass. Staind is not bad at all to me. Not great, but they have good songs.

I wouldn't mind him so much if he didn't lick his fingers and push his hair out of the way like a girl while shooting FTs. Then again everyone has their own weird FT quirks. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I present Exhibits A and B, Jason Kidd and Karl Malone.

Most definitely that was the Cavs giving the Celtics the game rather than the Celtics taking it from them. Its almost as if the Celtics don't want to advance. I think they're tired. The Hawks took them to seven games, the Cavs will probably take them to seven, and then they have to face a rested Detroit team if they don't gag in game seven.

Pistons close out the Magic, as they should have. I think Philly woke them up. Dwight Howard needs to develop even more as a center as he was exposed in this series. I just have that my #2 team got manhandled as they did, even if its by my #1 team. Tayshaun is just a sick individual when it comes to making these timely blocks. Everything else seems to be going as I thought it would. Its a tired cliche, but I don't see anything to suggest that none of the remaining teams are going to lose on their home floor. That means the Lakers, Celtics and Hornets advance in 7. Watching the Celtics and the Cavs beating the hell out of each other makes me very happy.
-
They need to find a way to get Howard more involved in the offense, but with the Pistons mixing up the defenses that's going to be very hard to do.
-
Fuck Mitch Albom right in his ear. What credibility he had with me went out the window quite some time ago. And Dan Patrick was never the same when Olbermann left ESPN. Hell the only time Patrick's ESPN show was really good was when he brought Olbermann in for an hour.
-
Now this is what I call a choke-out by the Pistons on the Magic. Continually harass the Magic players defensively and let their frustration do the job for you. They switched a lot of defenders on Dwight Howard and gave him a lot of different looks. If they keep this kind of intensity up, they could sweep. I just don't think they will. Orlando is too good a team to get swept.

Pistons in 6. Orlando (being my team B, and I hate that they have to meet in the second round instead of in the Finals) is going to give the Pistons a fight, but as long as the Pistons don't get disinterested and arrogant, they will win the series. If the Celtics take care of business tonight (and I don't want that, just so that Boston sports fan gets taken down another notch. Don't get me wrong, I respect the team's dominance in the regular season, but I am sick and tired of Boston fans running their mouths, if the Red Sox get knocked out in the first round of the playoffs, it just might shut them up for awhile), the Cavs have a chance to knock them out, because the Celtics' confidence is shaken. I think that somewhere along the line they remember who they are and win through. Celtics in 7. If the Hawks pull the upset, they are going to find that they don;t have much left in the gas tank, and the Cavs roll over them. Cavs in 5. If the Lakers had a functional Bynum, I would say they would beat the Jazz in 6. But the Jazz are going to give the Lakers all they can handle and then some. A lot of people seem to want to give the Lakers a fast and easy road to the Finals, and I don;t see that at all. Lakers in 7. If Chris Paul keeps playing at the level he is (or god forbid he shows that he has ANOTHER gear he can shift to), The Spurs are going to find that they are big, big trouble. They are a great team, but they are a little older and a little slower. I expect an epic duel between Parker and Paul, and if they put Bowen on Paul, he is going to pick them apart. Hornets in 7.

Superman II was light-years better than the first movie, and the first movie was pretty good. The first X-Men movie was dead equal with the second movie. I'm going to the last showing on Sunday night.

When you take the ball to the basket and are aggressive, you tend to get the foul calls. If KG did that more, it would be more even. Allen and Pierce are jumpshooters, although Pierce should take the ball to the basket a bit more himself. The disparity is for a reason, and its not because the Celtics are being screwed. They are doing a wonderful job of screwing themselves right now. That game 6 by the Pistons is what SHOULD have happened. Come out early, punch them in the face, and make them try to come back on you. Play defense and not allow them to have a lot of easy shots.

that's not surprising, though to my way of thinking Kerr should be following him right out the door... but I'll bet that this is one of those "gm fires the head coach to save his job" situations, even if D'Antoni did enough by himself to get fired.
-
He'll be the next Ron Harper if he tries... Agreed. I'm glad that Harper got his ring (or is it rings?), but seeing what he was in Chicago compared to what he was in LA was rather sad to see. Then again, Jordan had that base covered, so you might as well play a physical game at the point guard position. And Cubes doesn't have *some* work to do in the off-season, he has a LOT of work to do. He might have to blow the team up and start over. Kerr might lose his job, though I doubt it. Bringing in Shaq obviously was a step back for Phoenix, not a step forward in the playoffs. That team might get detonated as well, though I doubt that will happen. And speaking of changes, if the Pistons malaise their way into losing against Philly, look for Joe D to make some changes there, too. People up here are not happy, and they are starting to turn on the Pistons a little bit. Boon, I have to agree with Rip. Things did not start getting nasty until Boston upped the ante on the shit talking, and the Hawks came right back at them. Boston expected them to wilt, and those kids didn't. And I agree about KG not getting suspended. If Jason Kidd didn't get a suspension for that flagrant 2, KG won't either, and its bullshit.
