    WWE Raw V.S. Smackdown!

To me, the Rumble is paced exactly right. I like the submission style eliminations idea, but yes, making them too much of a struggle would kill the flow I like the fast pace, though I pitch a major fit when I get eliminated ten seconds after hitting the ring no matter who I am playing. As for the Ironman matches, I love playing things just right and "pitching a shutout". I always go for getting no falls scored on me in such a match, and 10 minutes seem a decent amount of time, though I could see it being better if they extended it to 20, and no more.

If Jade Empire is the RPG that I think that it is, its about time that a martial-arts based RPG came out. I'll be going with that.... and in my eyes, Suikoden doesn;t count... if one is made in the Baldur;s Gate style, I will be QUITE happy. I had all kinds of fun in BG2 playing Vhaidra.

    Favorite Guns N Roses song?

Rocket Queen is my favorite by far, and You Could be Mine runs a very close second, so I went with that. All of the others get ultra-heavy airplay so I'm not into them as much, which is a shame, because they are all great songs.

    Favorite video gam store

That's because they probably are operating under the assumption that a girl doesn;t know gaming all that well. More fool they. Media Play does it for me, and EB Games isn;t bad, then again I have been shopping there since I had my C64.

Multiple Questions concerning ESPN NBA Basketball.

I don;t how to do that... I made a pretty damn good team and I want to use it in Franchise Mode, but I can;t get it done. Help, if you please.

Bands that could have been bigger than they were

I agree on Living Colour. And as big as they were, Guns N Roses could have been and would have been much bigger than they were, had drugs, alcohol and egotism not torn it apart.

    WWE Raw V.S. Smackdown!

I think that they have gotten closer and closer, though I am in agreement in that there are some things that definitely need to be fixed... I have done my share of bitching in the HCTP thread, so it not need be reiterated here... despite its flaws, I thoroughly enjoy playing the game, and I hope that they fix the majority of the annoying things that I have complained about. I'm not drinking their kool-aid, but I am not going to crap on the game before its release, either.

Where Do I Send My Xbox

On a similar topic, I need to do the same thing to my old PS2, as my girlfriend is clamoring for me to get it fixed so she can take it home and play it. I have a new one, so that isn't the issue, but I am having trouble finding a place that repairs them. Its over a year old, and I know that the shelf life of this system clocks in at around that mark, but if I can get it fixed without having to just junk it and buying a new one for her, I'm down with that.

    Video Game Compilations

Its about time SF 2 got the PS2 treatment. And Ayanka, KI and KI2 were terrible. Both myself and my ex-roommate (whom admittedly, were both huge SF-heads back then) tried to play KI and KI2, but we both sneered at the fact that it was too much about amassing combos, and nowhere near enough strategy. Though I have to admit that KI for the SNES was a good game, for what it is. I think the perfect blend of strategy and combo ability was SSFII... maybe SSFII Turbo. I have both Namco and Midway comps. I agree with the statement that the controls are not good for the PS2, and that the controls for the PS1 comp were much tighter. One of these days, I am going to break down and buy the Intellivision and Activision comps... if only for the sheer nostalgia for way back in the day..

Best Graphic or text adventure game?

Wizard's Crown, and its sequel, Eternal Dagger, which I am have a lot of trouble finding these days.. This was one of if not the first strategy RPG of its kind. You commanded eight PCs and it took you a long, long time to finish the game. I'm enjoying playing WC right now... if not for these two games, the critically acclaimed SSI/TSR gold box games would not been anywhere near as good as they were, since they took heavily from WC/ED.

    Simple Question about

on average, if you;re starting a character from level 1, he'll top out at about 18th-20th level, depending what game level you choose to start from, as you get more experience for playing a normal level game than an easy level game, and even more if you play a hard level game to start, even though that's a challenge from level 1. I have to admit that each of the PCs are fun for different reasons... I think I have had the most fun with the dwarf and the monk. My gf and I are playing a game where I am playing Drizzt and she is playing the monk, and its absolutely sick at times. As for Chamipons of Norrath, no Evercrack product is going to grace my PS2 or PC, and thats the way it is.

    The Titillating World of Cosplay

My ex-roommate has been into cosplay for years... She always dressed up as Super Saiyan Goku.... I was going to go to a con as Kuririn/Krillin, and she offered to get the costume made if I shaved my head... I would have done it too. And I would hit every one of those girls, including the one dressed up as Felicia. But then again, I am a self-admitted slut....

    NWA

Point to JHawk. I agree in that the NWA of the mid-to-late 80s looked much more legit than the WWF, or as the phrase goes, "cartoon wrestling". Both had their appeal to me, though watching the Road Warriors destroy a jobber team in ten seconds flat while "Iron Man" Played in the background NEVER got old to me.
  14. It's mainly the character models that I have a problem with. Cena's was OK, but Orton was too big, which makes me think that others in the game like Benoit, Jericho, Eddie, etc. are going to look bigger than they are in real life, and that would be weird to see most wrestlers in the game looking like they're on the HHH nutrition program when they actually aren't. Not that graphics are important, as I would like to see the CAW improved, the stat-building in Season mode taken out, more moves (from the Indies, Japan, etc.), a few re-animations on certain moves, etc., but most of the character models still shouldn't look bulky. I doubt thats going to happen.... aside from a couple of wrestlers, they got pretty much everyone right. As for the stat building, live with it, because its not going anywhere. Myself I prefer it, it gives me a sense of satisfaction when my CAW beats a wrestler much better than him and he gets a suitable reward for it. I don;t think its really unnecessary, though the last game I saw with a CAW you could plug right in and compete was Fire Pro X fr the SNES, which I loved for the sheer insanity of the maneuvers. My major beef with that system was that it placed too much emphasis on precision, which to me took a lot of fun out of the game. Button mashing is just as bad, so as I have said before, there has to be a happy medium someplace.... I think they have reach a plateau with the graphics, now what they need to put in this game are more maneuvers, better and longer storylines, and the little esoteric things, like when you hold more than one title, it needs to be on the splash screen.. some small things that give the player a better sense of accomplishment.

The One and Only Smackdown! HCTP Thread

I say classify some moves as wear-downs and the others get a submission meter... anbd descrease the difficulty of getting a submission on smackdown level only slightly, to where you don't have to work so damned hard to get it.

    OaO Recent Video Game Purchases.

I bought GT3 and I cannot get into it... I'm playing NFSHP2 and I am having a lot of fun with it, though I am having serious trouble with playing the cop.... I play BGDA2 on and off.... I have had the most fun with the dwarf, though I have yet to play the Cleric or the Elf.. My GF and I beat the game with the Barbarian and Elf.. thats a POTENT combination.

My Vader has a 10 Strength, 8 Submission, 9.5 Endurance, 8 Tech, and 7 Speed. He's damned formidable, and I love beating the hell out of opponents with him.

    Randy Savage Interview

That is one hell of a lineup... I just hope the gameplay is good, because Acclaim's rep is, well, crappy. That has to be one of the best interviews I have seen in awhile, though he said a lot of the same things in a BTR interview he did a few months back... I think he has mellowed out quite a bit over the last few years, and its all to the good that he has done so. I'm very intrigued by this game just for the lineup, but if it doesn't play well, its going to be another flop... By the way Choken, Koko's Ghost Buster had to be one of the most high-risk finishers of its time. Hell of any time, considering the only one I see still using it is Chavo, and its modified so that you're not landing on your neck nowadays... I remember literally *cringing* when that move was applied, and that was back in my mark days.
  19. I have that Superbrawl 91 match on tape, and it was one of the best Steiners matches I have ever seen. Of course the weak link of the four was Luger, despite Scotty and Rick doing what they could to make him look good. That best of seven series vs. Benoit had to be Booker's defining moment as a singles star. I remember watching it and loving every moment of it. How about one of Scott Hall?
  20. I always used DiBiase and Warrior. They meshed perfectly, and I played this game at the local arcade ALL the time, just like I did with Superstars two years before that. I culminated that game by beating it on one quarter. I have it on MAME and it works perfectly, when I get nostalgic, I bust it out and have a blast. It has to be in my all-time top five of favorite games.

    Old School Goodness

Gamestop usually have a bunch of idiot kids in their teens and twenties working there and their attitudes are horrible. They do act like they know everything about gaming, even though I have more knowledge in my little pinky than most of them do.

The One and Only Smackdown! HCTP Thread

I just used the nastiest-looking powerbomb and gave it to him, along with the slowest moonsault. I used his default moveset but modified it heavily based off of the squash match with Tom Zenk and the match I have against Sting, along with a few strictly power moves. Out of curiosity, how did you guys do his stats?

    For those in the know

JHawk is right on target. I remember watching a MSG card on cable and Gene Okerlund saud that The Dingo Warrior was going to be on a house show in 87.. I thought that might be the same one that he mentioned. and yes, he did cut that promo. I remember seeing it. As for the Bushwhackers, I always thought it hilarious and a little bit sad how Vince could take of of the bloodiest, most violent tag teams of that era and completely pacify them.

Way to go out on a limb with that prediction.

    Are you a Sensei?

How did you hit that shot consistently? I love NBA Live 95, and Coach K, and I thought I was pretty good. I might get into emulation just for those games. I'm sure you'd beat my ass though. But I was awesome at 97 & 98 on PS. I was devastating on Live 95 and 96. I had my Orlando Magic set just the way I wanted it on 96, with the CAPs for Kobe, Iverson, et. al. made and the rosters as close as I could get them to the actual ones for the 99-00 season, then my erstwhile roommate steals my Genesis and my carts. Bastard.
