Final Fantasy 12 artwork of two main charas

I just can't summon the energy to say what is truly on my mind, but we are just seeing the continuation of a trend. My roommate is jonesing for the FF& movie, hard... It looks good, but to me, there is something missing. I have yet to figure it out.

We should cull together all of the ideas and opinions and forward them to THQ.

I'm just happy that if I get this, I can rule the roost with the ORIGINAL SAGAT~! again..... I still play Genesis SCE for nostalgia from time to time.

That's what was great about BG and BG2. Who was in your party? Where? Because I'm currently going through the ranks and I want to be prepared -- I just beat the Steve Irwin wanna-be. Do you know if it's going to be a conintuation of the first one or a totally different game? I've been too lazy to check... oh I kicked his ass after I got John Daly.... I went through the first set of opponents and am working on the second set, who have better clubs and play smarter... I'm stuck on the tournaments because the courses are fucking HARD. BGDA2 is about halfway between a new game and a continuation... you start with new characters, even though some of the people in the first game are present in the second... you really should check the website.

The One and Only Smackdown! HCTP Thread

There are some storylines that should be pulled from past history. Hell, I can think of two or three just from Dames' review of Disc One of the Ric Flair DVD. Once again, three matches per event are not enough, there should be at least 5, if not 7. ALL of the titles need to be on the line at every PPV, regardless of who is holding them. The big four PPVs should have matches for every title going on, even if a player is holding all of them. I do like how you have to wrestle multiple times if you;re a multiple champion, though a little damage carrying over from the previous match to the next match would make it more realistic. Opponents going for finishers early in the match is just plain stupid, not to mention getting pinned by a finisher even though the affected body part was turned yellow. It needs to be at least orange to score a pin. I like the fact that you need to work in order to get your wins (except in slobber knocker), but the amount of reversals in the matches goes beyond the ridiculousness in Just Bring It. I said it before when we were all drooling in anticipation; there needs to be a happy medium with reversals. Too few or too many lead to HIGH levels of frustration. To me there is nothing more annoying that beating the living hell out of someone to where they have one or two red areas, you go for your finisher and you get it reversed and they hit their finisher and pin you (or what I like to call it, HHH Syndrome, since his wrestler does it more often than anyone else, big surprise, huh?). As a wrestler takes more damage, then chance of reversing a hold should be MUCH less than what it is at the start of a match. There is some of that in there, but the degradation is nowhere near what I think it should be, and when you have red areas on your wrestler's body, it should be hella steep. The more severely damaged areas, the worse it is. Just one man's opinion, TIFWIW.

I'm currently stuck in Hot Shots Golf 3.. Street Hoops can be a bit frustrating, though I think I know what its about after watching the ESPN series... As far as RPGs go, 7th Saga has to be the most frustrating RPG to me. ::sighs:: 15 days until Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2 comes out...

heh I think that 20-30 minutes is a record for SmackDown level play... BTW, if anyone know of a good Low-Ki moveset, I would be very interested.

Yes they did those matches right. It should take several finishers to knock someone down and keep them that way, though it can come off of any reasonably strong maneuver. I remember using at least 7 or 8 finishers on Roddy Piper, putting him through tables and the like, only to put him down for the count with a standard running clothesline. That match took at least 20-30 mins.

The game doesn't start getting easier until you have at least 8s in every category... though using the "Jobber" method help build your players up a lot faster than getting your ass kicked royally... I lost to HHHe-Man like 11 times in a row, until I got most of my stats at 9, and with some sneaky ways to win matches (in a no-DQ match, knock him down, go outside, grab a chair and when he is in the middle of his top-rope ring exit, hit him with it. Run into the ring, swing at him as he is entering, repeat, until his head or body is red, then hit your finisher and pin him). If you have the Hardcore title, you will be backjumped at PPVs a few times. To win a match quickly, go through the set of doors to the left and move to the cage and climb atop it. Knock your opponent off the cage, which does massive damage. Taunt repeatedly until he climbs up, then attack him with punches and kicks until he falls off, but be careful not to fall off while doing it (I lost several matches that way using this method). When his enitre body is red (or at least the part that your finisher will hurt), use your finisher and pin him. I'm always thinking of sneaky ways to win matches when you can't beat them straight up.

Ah its okay, DH.. I'm just primed to get this damned game.... There are other moves that will stun an opponent long enough for a Smackdown, but the toe kick is by far the most reliable.

The One and Only Smackdown! HCTP Thread

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for but, when they're laying down, just hold O and pull them towards the center of the ring. Then, pick them up, give them a toe kick(down-right and X), and do your Smackdown Special. Damnit, I can't believe that. Thank you. Cmon, DH, if you played SYM for any length of time, the toe kick is the one necessary move in your chara's moveset... if always sets up a SD. Its a necessity.

The One and Only Smackdown! HCTP Thread

It was like that in SYM, but it sounds like the difficulty has been increased by order of magnitude.... I remember when I first made my namesake CAW and he had about 60 superstar points and got in a match against The Rock, who had 90+. The match lasted maybe a minute before he laid me out with the Rock DDT 2. I don;t mind if its hard. Even exceedingly hard. It makes it all the sweeter when you actually pull off upsets and the like. Remember, using CAWs against established characters, pound on their ass with attack moves... when you think they MIGHT be down, pound on them more. Think before you go for a grapple, because it is most likely going to be reversed. And set up your moves when you create so that you can do combos (I know its more of a fighting game strategy, but when you stack the moves just right, its helps a LOT).

The One and Only Smackdown! HCTP Thread

Not really... If you think about it. You just pull off moves that mostly affect the area of the body that your finisher works on. Hence, if it works against the head, use head moves. And so forth. That right there would cut your moveset to about 6-8 moves. Give or take. Nah, I know myself well enough to know that I am going to want to use every move in a match, once I get used to the learning curve... Hell, right now I have been obsessing over the CAW Legion of Doom and the British Bulldogs movesets to the point of ridiculousness.... in LoD's case, I went back to Wrestlefest to complete the movesets.... I know I need HCTP now... this is getting bad, even for me.

Considering that you have been shitting on the game many months before the release, Sakura, I'm not surprised that you don't like it, but am surprised that you bought it. I start work tomorrow, so its going to be several weeks before I get the game.. I have been playing the hell out of SYM to hype myself up for HCTP... keep the nuggets of info coming, people. Ki Krusher 99 made it into the game? Yes.... my SYM CAW Low-Ki was so damned dangerous, it wasn't even funny... now having a move or two patented by him is going to really complete him.... 16 grapple moves.... damn, thats out and out crazy.... just remembering the moves in the heat of a match is going to be a challenge.

    Kill Bill: volume 1

The groom at the wedding was killed along with supposedly Uma. This movie was by far the best one I have seen since The Two Towers.... everything was so dead on, it just took a hold of my soul and did not let go until the credits rolled.. But there is something that is bothering me, and has ever since I saw the opening scene with Vivica... Where the HELL have I seen a box of Kabooooms cereal before?????

    NBA Live 2004

I wish they would bring some of that Lakers vs. Celtics flavor for the new basketball games... signature dunks and patented moves for the superstars, while keeping enough for the rest of the l to make it interesting.... I played live 2004 at gamestop friday night on the XBox.... it looked pretty damned good, aside from the very annoying slowdown in spots... I do agree that its turned into a dunkfest now... though I couldn;t get off any of my own, and I was running the Magic. I basically had to break down the defense with the freestyle moves and settle for short to midrange jumpers.. though something is wrong when Ilgauskas steals the inbound pass twice in a row and dunks it down faster than you can blink.... I didn't do badly considering, I lost by 2.

25 most overrated games of all time

DOA3 was just made for the major fighting game geeks to drool over, something that started with Fatal Fury's Mai Shiranui's Bouncy code... DOA isn;t bad for a fighter, but when they started going more towards pandering to said fighting gamer geek's overactive hormones and imagination, whatever credibility that was built up was just shot to all hell.... never mind when they followed up DOA 3 with the fucking VOLLEYBALL game... MK is not overrated, even though I hated it with a passion back in 92. MK and SF needed each other, because without the direct competition, neither game would not have risen as high as they did. And KI 1 and 2 were combo machines that placed the ability to get in as many hits as possible rather than actual strategy and tactics. Get in three combos or so and you were set for the Ultra, joystick/button combo and you can just sit back and watch.. I was working Best Buy when DKC came out. We could not keep copies in the store for a LONG time after its release.

    Epic games

I'm in complete agreement with Sakura about FF7. For me it was Shining Force 1 and 2.. they were pretty simplistic true, but it was the first RPG I saw where you could customize your own party and have to think tactically... I want Valkyrie Profile so bad, it hurts...

Annoying doesn;t even begin to describe it. I hope they have more matches on each PPV or tv show.. six would be perfect though five or even four would be a big improvement
