Orlando is trying to get either Howard or Brown, as they still need some toughness on their front line... I hope they get Brown because he is a proven 4 in this league and can do the dirty work. Howard is a better scorer, but I'm not really sold on him. Brand is a PF, plain and simple, he is only 6'9", maybe 6'10". because Duncan hates to play the 5, that wouldn;t make any sense to get him... as squeezably soft as he is, Olowakandi makes more sense. The Spurs are screwed this season by Kidd staying in New Jersey, as much as the Laker fans can orgasm over getting Payton and Malone, they still hvae to work out the chemistry issue, not to mention Kobe and Shaq's health issues (in Shaq's case he needs to mix in a salad), so they aren't guaranteed anything. The west is going to be even more of a dogfight than it was last year.

Excellent concept and good execution of that concept.

what I'm saying that with the way big events were booked back then, it would have killed the crowd for Hogan/Andre to go out there at any point but the ME, as that was what people were paying money to see. Everything else was just filler by comparison, even though Savage/Steamboat stole the show. Bookers and writers had more common sense in those days. Why should you care what the marks want, as long as you are happy with the match?
-
Hogan/Andre was the most anticipated match back in the day because of how it was booked and they were two of the five most popular wrestlers in the sport.... not to mention it was a different time back then. Smarks didn;t exist. We were all marks, to one degree or another. just enjoy the match and don't worry where its placed on the card.

Maggette is already gone to Denver, and as long as Sterling owns the team, they aren;t going to amount to anything.

I think that Vulgar Display of Power should be on there. It's not as fast, but it s much heavier than Cowboys.... although Phil actually effing SINGS on Cowboys....

because of the complete and total burial of no less than FIVE wrestlers that there would have been no problem in dropping the belt to and giving them a chance to shince in the spotlight of being champion. Because he thinks he can be the Ric Flair of the new millenium, the problem being that at least Ric dropped the title on numerous occasions (only to gain it back inside of 30 days, but I digress). Because I personally am convinced that everything he does, in and out of the ring, is to keep the heat on him for as long as possible, from getting engaged to Stephanie to running out there in a Hurricane/Flair match and pedigree him for no reason whatsoever aside from it being the heelish thing to do, to the alleged politics that he plays to keep himself champion. I wouldn't be surprised that him going onto Heat was his idea, just to show those in charge that he is a team player. I wouldn't care one iota about who he was marrying if it wasn;t for everything else. Coincedences go only so far, and while the writers and Vince himself share the blame, to say he is an innocent bystander in all of the maneuvering and politicking is just a steaming pile of bullcrap. I hope in Angle's case this is not the start of something bad.

you have to have "Beelieve It!" in your sig as well, Rob.

Aside from watching it myself, this is the best way to find out the working of TNA. Good work, Dames. I did like the Cyrus/Network angle in ECW, especially when Taz was involved in it... if they let him run with it, this could be a good angle, as well.

Akuma was SUPPOSED to be a major pain in the ass.. The Undertaker from SYM gets my vote as that bastard can cheese his way to a win by using the same set three or four moves... fortunately my CAWs are out and out faster than he is. Sagat from SFA3 is a cheeseball bitch too... I have major trouble playing him in the Alpha series, so I switched to either Ryu or Chun-Li. but he has a difficult pattern to break, and you have to be tight with your midair blocking to get closer to him... argh. More to come as I think of them.

those pics are hilarious. shame to Canada and Germany? yeah, maybe because they're not *more* lit off their asses.

Mix Purple Passion, everclear and orange juice in a 32 ounce cup. Drink it down rather quickly. Then drink six more just like it. then go to a RHCP showing and get five lbs of rice poured on you during the wedding scene. talk about good times....

The promo Saturn cut on Glacier about it was pretty dry but it was hilarious because he was right. The it became a feud to show who had the best standing side kick.... it was priceless... One of the ECW opening clips showed a TE on a jobber and balled him up on the back of his neck.... combine that with the head-and-arm tazplex on Mikey Whipwreck.... yikes... ahh the good ole days...

Ahh blind faith.... a sports fan's life preserver to keep him afloat, or an albatross around his neck to curse him until he dredges up the courage to remove it. We shall see how things pan out this coming season. if they can all contain their egos and play like a team, then its all good. But we shall see.

simple. do a punch or toe kick, back your wrestler up and run at them and nail them. the computer does it to me all the time, usually off of a grapple or irish whip reversal. I hope they made reversals much more effective, not to even mention EASIER to do. I thought they made them too easy in Just Bring It, but they were too uncommon in SYM. Irish whip reversals are almost non-existant and no, I don;t mean the arm-wringer-kick-to-midsection reversal. Just a simple reversal. SYM was a step forward in the right direction... i hope HCTP continues that trend.

Good job, J, as usual. Keep it up. To expand upon your theory, when the McMahon's have airtime, every can and will take a backseat to their getting their mugs on TV. Its a little reminder of what you are watching, which is not wrestling, its sports entertainment. Which reminds me, last night Kevin sullivan was on BTR, and he had some interesting things to say about wrestling and sports entertainment.

More moves is fine by me. I don;t have that much of a problem with Yuke's system, though there has to be an alternative to excessive button mashing.

They want a ring, and it has NOTHING to do with the "two greatest players in the world", Gamecop. The only team that has more of a chance to win it all are the Spurs, and I cannot seem Malone playing backup PF to Duncan, since Duncan hates playing center. if this happened five, even three years ago, I would have automatically said dynasty. I may not like what is going on, but you know I would be a hypocrite if I blasted the Lakers for doing what they are doing, because my beloved Yankees do the same thing, they're just a little more honest about it. I don;t think that Zo would want to play backup to Shaq though... he could do better in either Sacramento, Dallas or San Antonio. But who knows, players are willing to do anything to get a ring in the NBA.

Gunstar Heroes was one of the best games that not many knew about.... my friend even made a Video World RPG national anthem from the main theme song. Ahh those were the days.....

Okay kids, on another thread, someone mentioned Dolphin for the 2600, and seeing as my mind goes off on tangents, I came up with this question: What were the best games on each platform, going back as far as you can remember? For me, the list goes like this: Atari 2600: Seaquest/Stargate (tie) Atari 5200: Pac-Man (I was SO starved for a real translation, that this was the only game I had for the 5200) Atari 7800: Pole Position Intellivision: Advanced Dungeons and Dragons: Treasure of Tarmin Colecovision: Donkey Kong (see above for why) NES: Baseball Stars Genesis: (tie) NBA Live 96/Street Fighter II Special Champion Edition/Super Street Fighter II SNES: Lufia II 3DO: AD&D Hack Neo-Geo: Metal Slug 2 or X N64: Rogue Squadron Saturn: Street Fighter Alpha 2 (perfect translation, AND a gauntlet mode) PSX: Street Fighter Alpha 3 PS2: (tie) Smackdown SYM/Baldur's Gate Gamecube: Rogue Leader I never fooled with an XBox long enough to have a favorite. This was tough as I had to flashback more than 20 years, when my mother bought me a Sears Tele-Games (atari 2600) in 1980 (or was it 81?) and come forward in time. Your lists?
-
I'm going to check it out and if its good, I'll buy it. Those guys DESERVE my money for not changing too much. I remember the BTM they did for anthrax... its a shame that they were always seen as Metallica/Megadeth/Slayer's little brother. "Only" is one of my favorite songs to play on guitar.

I remember when Savage was hyping his match against Hiroyuki Tenzan for weeks, and it was basically a squash, and WCW actually spent time building up Tenzan, too.
-
Aerith/Aeris got Russoed.

I remember when my mother bought me a bike for my 14th birthday... one of the first mountain/trail bikes Huffy ever made... the tires were ENORMOUS... most of the kids in my neighborhood called it "The Truck" because of the sound of the tires made when rolling at high speed... Most of my relatives gave me cash, I figured that it was about 60-80 dollars all told... in a massive binge, I rode my new bike down to Spanky's (the local arcade) and proceeded to blow every dollar I had in the place, only taking time to ride to Duchess for some chicken chow mein, then back to Spanky's. Ahh to be addicted to video games as a teen.... better than alcohol or pot, thats for sure.
