I'm highly amused by this turn the thread took, never mind that I have most of you kids beat by sheer dint of age, and what I was doing and into when you kids were barely an itch in your momma's pants, nevermind *before* then, but I'm not gonna go there. All I am going to say is that these black leaders don;t speak for me and never have. I knew Jesse's racket back when he was spitting in white people's food and claiming that he held MLK after he was fatally shot. Reverend Al got his national recognition by exploiting a 15 year old black girl by saying she was raped by white men when in the end she was raped by/had sex with another black male. Piffle and flummery, I say.

Everything is a political issue... the conservatives, the liberals, the independents.... When politics get involved, the chances of an issue being resolved fairly go WAY down. It becomes about winning and losing, rather than doing what is right and doing what is fair.

As a black man myself, I can understand both sides of the issue.... the problem is that most of the so-called black leaders are using the issue of racism to push their own agendas behind the scenes while clamoring that they are for equal rights. Sometimes I wonder if some want equal rights or just want to make the Caucasian race as a whole suffer for the indignities they had to go through, never mind the slavery issue. Have I been the subject of racism? Hell yes. In all kinds of ways. Do I want special treatment because of it? Hell no. I just want a chance to say that I am ME before I am black, which is what I do, regardless. Do I think that things are not equal? Yes, I do. But you want to know what? Until change truly takes effect, which it does little by little throughout the years and decades, until we all come together as HUMAN BEINGS, not whites, blacks, hispancis, asians, etc., we are always going to stumble and falter. In the last 50 years there has been progress. Its going to take another 25-50 before we can look back at the turn of the millenium and say that yes, he have progressed. But the amount of change lies in TRULY accepting someone as a person. To look at your co-worker and say, "That's Joe", before thinking about how he might act because of his ethnicity. Acceptance and tolerance go a long, long way towards solving the issues of the day, people. Once we learn to dispose of the negative, hurtful prejudices that we were *taught* as children and young adults, that is another step forward. Love and Friendship Know No Color. Out.

Oh, I agree completely. For a long time gaming had always been gear towards male, with few "neutral" or "girly" games coming out... in its own way Ms. Pac Man changed all that. I do have to agree with the eariler statement that the FF series is going towards catering to teen females than before with their storylines... while that doesn;t bother me as a good story is a good story (romantic involvement or not), sacrificing the game in favor of that is just a little bothersome. Just my take on the topic.

And I just found out that someone stole my copy of Two Towers.

Once again, we see the vast differences between males and females... Considering I played only up to IX and not very far into it, I started losing interest in FF when there was just too much technology in the game. Some I could understand, like the Airship, for ways of getting from place to place, but I started looking at it askance in VII, and I saw my ex-fiancee playing VIII, and I started playing IX, and I had said "enough". There are not very many RPGs that have a good balance between gameplay and story, though I liked Xenogears' story, but the gameplay started wearing on me and I stopped playing about halfway through. The only one that actually held my attention was VII, and that was for the customization of your characters through what Materia you gave them. I've fiddled around with X a bit, and I'm not sure I want to devote what little time I have to it... oh sure it looks great, but I'm not completely taken by how a game looks. My roommates would be ga-ga over it, but I just am a bit skeptical. some like gameplay, others like storylines.. I need a complete package.

There is a streaming webcast that I want to pull from a webstie... it works fine with my Windows Media Player and I know that it has to be on my hard drive someplace.... Can anyone help me with that?

They need a hell of a lot more than a PG. Vaughn, Whitney and Amrstrong do fairly well at platooning that position. The organization did a decent job in getting Gooden and Giricek, but they need a physical 5 to go along with Gooden. I was seriously hoping that they year that Grant took off last year was going to be the last one, but he should just retire, and maybe come back in two years, once the ankle is fully healed. I agree that he still has enough in the tank to make a difference, but how many times is he going to get 15-20 games into a season and have his ankle give out? As a big Magic fan, this is VERY disappointing.

Even though Re-Load was crap for the most part, "Prince Charming" was a good track, it at least gave a slight nod to where they came from. Considering everything the have gone through since the Black Album, there is just no way they could keep raising the bar once they worked out a deal with their record company. If they had moderated their approach somewhat, I think Load would have been a much more successful album. For what it is, its not a bad album, I just hate what it represented: Metallica getting older, and feeling a need to change for its own sake... not so much a progession, because with the exception of a track or two, there is no link from Load to the Black Album back to the classics of the first four albums. Gone was the speed, the rawness, the attitude, of the first four albums. Gone was the sound and moderately fast playing style of the Black Album that made it at the very least palatable (If for nothing else I dig the Black Album for the guitar sound, I have always wanted Hetfield's rhythm sound, hard as it is to control). They changed a little too much for most fan who grew up with the first four albums to stomach, and then they heaped Reload on top of that. As I said before, the thing that really pissed me off about those two albums is Hetfield's attitude of "we'll *make* them like it".

Not to mention that almost every woman I have ever known that is over 5'9" is angry because she has been made fun of her whole life because of her height.... My own half-sister is 6'5". Hell, even I know that NO MA'AM is a joke for the most part... sheesh... that female needs to get a grip... I know you're amused and proud, Rant, but that email is beyond sad to me.

Oh come on.... Though I will say that Square jumped the shark in a big way when they released that CGI movie that had NOTHING to do with the actual game, I wouldn;t say that Square has lost *total* sight of what made them famous in the first place... Although I have yet to play FFX in earnest (though I might as well, as I spend too much time online as it is), I will be interested to see what they do with FF X-2. I know my roommates will be buying it, thats for sure.

I just read a review in the Detroit Free Press that it was wishy-washy, that it was caught between trying to make it an action flick and a psychological drama. I don't put much stock in "professional" movie reviewers because 99.9% don;t have the outlook on a movie that I might have. So I'll see it for myself, but first I'm going to go see Matrix Reloaded on an IMAX screen this weekend. Now THAT I can justify spending ten bucks on.

Heh, every one of the five boroughs has a different accent, Dames. I was born and raised in freaking Connecticut and I knew that. Excellent review... I haven't knowingly listened to Buckethead so I cannot say yay or nay to his talent level. The thing that made GnR instant superstars was that despite the conflicts they may have had, is that they fit together musically. Slash was no more or less important to that band than Izzy, Axl, Duff or Steven at the time. The sum of their parts was greater than the individual value. While they found a good replacement for Steven with Matt Sorum, the downward slide started when Izzy quit the band, then delaying an album for god knows how long finished the job. I just hope that Slash, Duff and Matt can find success again without Axl, just to show the egotistical prick that no one man is an island.

it does happen a lot.... I switched to WinMX because it was happening so much, but I also have two other computers running through a router, so it tends to happen a lot.... which reminds me, I need to get back on trying to download the stuff I want.

Vegas would kill having a pro basketball team and football team. Hockey. Meh. Baseball certainly doesn't need more teams, and when you think about it, neither does the NBA. for a hockey team to draw the canadian crowd, it has to be close to the border... if one is put in Maine, it wouldn;t work, thought you might get some people from New Brunswick, but not many from Quebec will show.....

At least you guys had those kind of classes, I had to find out everything on my own, aside from those wacky flims from the 50s about teen and premarital sex... You wanna talk Comedy Gold?
