and of course, comcast throttled down my bandwidth... and now I can;t get certain websites to load either... once I get what i am looking for off of WinMX I am going to scratch it from my puter.
  2. I was working Best Buy when the N64 first came out.... one or two games were $100, and still people were buying them in DROVES. It was pathetic... I used to tell people who were smart enough to ask which system was better to go with the PS1, even though the first games for that system were not all that great either, though by 96 there were a few gems amidst the dung. ::gets a flashback of having to sort out the game section every day:: I feel better now... I think.

Ever been on the recieving end

Happened to my roommate a friend and myself just this sunday night with SYM. The week before we had decided to pound the living crap out of Christian using our CAWs in a captain fall elimination match. We proceeded to annihilate him for a good hour and a half, trying all kinds of double team moves and three-way smackdown combos. Cut ahead to this Sunday where we get together and we do a King of the Ring tournament with our own CAWs in it and randomized opponents. DDP was one of them. in the first round, DDP eliminates my friend's CAW. I win my first round match against Eddy, who *always* gives me fits, but after a major struggle. My roommate wins his match with similiar difficulty. Second round: DDP beats me with a freaking SUNSET FLIP~! of all things. Roomie gets through his match and advanced to face DDP in the finals, where he barely wins that match by the skin of his teeth. Now I have played Smackdown level for a long time, and i am very used to it, but the level of tension was high that night because almost everything that was attempted by myself and my friend against DDP was instantly countered. I have stopped believing a long, long time ago that games aren;t sentient (when I was like 12), but on a night like that, you have to wonder.

Ki and Daniels are doing it the right way, in that they are building their cred in the indies and in Japan. From what I have read they both are doing a good job getting over. Personally while I could see Daniels in the E, I hope Ki stays away from it as much as possible, as he would be watered down to the point where I would cry if I saw him in the ring.... Tajiri has a somewhat similar style and they toned him down near non-existence. EDIT: Rock has always been listed as 6'5, 275. Taker anywhere between 6'9' and 7', 300-325.. This is the same fed that listen Hogan as 6'8" and 302-305, when in actuality he was 6'5" and about 275.

    The Predator Series....

I still play that game from time to time, and yes it kicks mucho ass... MK was excellent for what it was. I still say that remains the blueprint for making a movie based off of a video game. Translate DIRECTLY to the screen what made the game so popular, have a passable script, and try not to take it too damn seriously. It ain't rocket science. I think Danny Glover pulled P2 up from the depths.. the scene at the end when he had spent every last bit of himself to kill the predator, only to see several more of them appear and he said: "All right.... who's next?" Gold, I tell you. Ther should have been a P3 with both Arnold and Danny to have the blow-off to the series, but no, that was not to be. AVP sounds intriguing, but they do need to base information from the novel series in order for it to make sense just to the fans of the series, but i think that it might be too late to make a movie and have it accepted by those outside of fandom. Just one man's opinion.

    Do you guys ever..

I see some of the hits and spills these guys take and I'm like "daaammnnn!!". Theese guys, would not have a problem going over the middle in an NFL game, no matter who was going to light him up, from the legendary Ronnie Lott on down the line. He will catch the ball, take the hit, hold on to the ball, get up and look at the guy who knocked him down like he's less than nothing, then go back to the huddle. The guys are MEN. Nuff said

Lots Of WWE Guys Pissed At The PPV

Fuck Dumb and Dumberer, that might just be the worst "comedy" I've ever seen in all of my life of watching film. Come on dude, how could you see the trailer and NOT know that it was a platter of steaming crap? I saw the trailer when I saw X2 and practically shoted at the screen "WHY???!" But to be honest, I despised the first movie, Jim Carrey notwithstanding.

    EWR 4.0 Features

You ever get married Dames, make sure she's at least a mark, then you can "educate" her. If she's a smark, prepare for long debates. Congrats on the EWR slot, too, man. And by the way guys, Dames already has quite a following, and its only going to get bigger with this latest coup.

    Son of the Mask

Be prepared for more drek like this for several more years, until some people can actually get their original ideas pushed through... though it will always be about money in hollywood, so why take a chance on something new and fresh, when you can rehash something on the strength of what came before it, regardless of whether what you're putting out is good or not?

    Any Blockbuster employees here?

That's a bunch of crap... the only way you are going to deter shoplifting is to follow around those with bad intentions, and since none of us are very proficient in ESP, these corporations come up with the stupidest ideas that some study proved.... Any shoplifter is going to wait until the attention is not on him/her and go for it in the place that is held up to the least scrutiny.... I used to work for Best Buy when they started up this crap, and basically its to say to the customer "Hi! Please spend money here because we are so nice and helpful!" and no other reason. I know that these kids aren't making very much money and they have to do these things, so I will acknowledge them, and ask for help if I need it. And I will always give my business to the mom and pop stores that Blockbuster is always trying to put out of business before I spend dime one in that homogenized, sterlized video store... Hollywood Video is bad enough. At least the mom and pop stores will have the guts to sell and rent movies that are not edited in any way, not to even mention porn flicks... No offense to you dude, but the spineless, PC stance these corporations take just irks the hell out of me.

    Best Musical Decade

The 80s closely followed by the 70s, again closely followed by the 60s. Each decade had a significant revolution in music, the impact of which is still being felt in this new milennium, which has yet to have its revolution...

    D&D Heroes

Okay, in my search for a PS2 game to add to my library (found Street Hoops for 17.99 at Amazon.com), I found out that D&D Heroes is coming out on 6/18. Being a fan of Baldur's Gate, which was an excellent game for what it was, D&D Heroes take the concept and moves it along to the next step. It models itself more truly to the 3rd Edition D&D rules and features four player game play, which in itself has me sorely tempted to run out and buy it immediately, as the sequel to Baldur's Gate is not due out until November. The website is danddheroes.com. Comments? Questions?

    D&D Heroes

After doing a little homework, I found out this little tidbit of news: Atari revealed today that Dungeon & Dragons: Heroes, which was previously planned for release on the PlayStation 2, GameCube and Xbox Platforms, will now only be released for the Xbox when it comes out. The release date has also been slightly modified to an October 2003 timeframe. In the vein of the arcade adventures, D&D: Shadow over Mystara and D&D: Tower of Doom, popularized by Capcom in the early 90's, D&D: Heroes is planned as a combat oriented RPG version of Dungeons and Dragons, which will allow players take the role of a fighter, wizard, cleric, or rogue. Participating with up to four players simultaneously, groups will be able to wade their way through seven distinct environments including an ominous floating castle and the frozen lands of the undead. In other news, Infogrames, the designer of D&D: Heroes and other games such as Neverwinter Nights, has announced that it will be merging its brand name into the Atari line and all future releases by the company will come under the Atari name. In addition, Infogrames Interactive, the wholly owned subsidiary of Infogrames responsible for developing titles based on Hasbro board games, will change its name to Atari Interactive. I find this interesting as amazon.com had a release date for the game for 6/18.... I think this was before Atari Interactive got ahold of this and pulled plans for the game to be brought to both the PS2 and GC... Sounds to me like they've been sold out... Considering that the PS2 is in more households than either gaming system, it makes no sense to me why such a game would be pulled... Oh well, nevermind.....

    D&D Heroes

I have both, and I like BG2 for the PC, and I play it every now and then, but I like more action to go into my RPGs (prolly a result of playing FFs for the last three or four years), and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance fit the bill pretty well. Dark Alliance II is not out for another 5 months or so, and after the furor surrounding BGDA died down, D&D Heroes was being touted as the next big thing, so to speak. The pictures looks very good, I just hope its more in the frame of BGDA than Gauntlet... thought Atari is putting out DDH, so I dunno.....

    Low Ki

Punch, Kick and No-Sell? admittedly I am a HUGE Low-Ki mark, but I think I can say aside from a pretty impressive array of kicks which is his main weapon, thats about as wrong as wrong gets. You can like him or dislike him at your pleasure, Game, but come on.

    Undertaker interview

Folks, this all stemmed from when WCW and ECW went under and Vince became a big fish in suddenly a very small pond. He did not have to WORK himself and the people under him for your entertainment dollar, and a few years down the road, THIS is the result. Even though I have been watching wrestling for 25 years, I don't consider myself an expert. Just a fan. I can see more than the average fan, because I know what to look for. But thats about it. The E is on a downswing, and we can blame HHH all we want for his political power in the company and on top of that marrying the boss' daughter, which of course would lead to him having a lot more stroke.... but I will say it until the day I die (or until things change for the better, whichever comes first), it is Vince's fault more than anyone else... he is the one who became bitter and decided to put out what HE wants to see as opposed to putting out something the fans can see and get behind... that is the reason for the low ratings and turnouts at live events. If he ever cared about putting out what the fans wanted to see, at some point he stopped caring. That's why the E is in danger of collapsing outright. In this digital age, people can make their likes and dislikes known a lot more readily, and there are your so-called experts out there who think their world is the gospel, coming down to inform the masses on a beam of sunlight. I can't blame the talent for feeling as they do, though they take it to an extreme. In the end they can only do so much with what they are given by the writers, who are to blame for a LOT of problems in the E today. they know if they deviate too far from what is written for them, they will get buried or even fired. And my final point: These people are paid a LOT of money to do what they do. Six and seven figure salaries. In the final analysis, it is a job just like any other, and as was said before, sometimes these people love their jobs, sometimes they hate them. Out.

    Interesting Edge News

even though I doubt it, its an interesting theory. BTW, theres no "U" in atmosphere.
  24. Masters of the Universe was *horrible*. I didn;t like the filmation cartoon series, but I would take that over that piece of crap some call a movie. I do have to say I like the new series though. It's a pity, but since there are very few fresh, original ideas coming out of Hollywood these days, our pasts are doomed to be destroyed in the race to make a buck at the box office.
  25. Actually, B.A. got shot in the final episode.
