    Most Legendary Multiplayer Game?

I'm going to go old school and say (because of a topic I started on wrestling games) The Main Event.

    Movies made from games..

I didn't think Resident Evil was all that bad... then again I am big Mila Jovovich mark... Street Fighter ranks just behind MK:A and D&D, but not far behind.. I was heavy into Street Fighter when that came out, and I just shuddered in revulsion.. I had to go to the local arcade and play SSFII several times before I felt better.... And then Street Fighter the Movie arcade game hit..... ::shudders again::

    Depressing Songs

yes, Black by Pearl Jam rates right up there.. I was doing a shoutcast DJ shift for an IRC channel and i was already feeling lower than a snake's belly (if you weeeell) and that came on my random play and I "oh hell.." A Tout Le Monde by Megadeth Rain When I Die by AIC Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix So Tired by Ozzy Osbourne Hemorrhage by Fuel (another nasty breakup song) Cryin by Joe Satriani Cryin by Aerosmith Why by Joe Satriani How You Remind Me by Nickelback (even though its overplayed to hell and back) i

    Depressing Songs

Put "End of the Road" in there too.... I was breaking up with a girlfriend of mine at the time, she was driving me to the airport and that song came on and I started crying like a baby.
  5. You know, after I started playing, I saw this movie on TBS after not seeing it for years, and it's totally built on your basic wizards and warriors archetypes..the powerful barbarian, the wily (if cowardly) thief, a wise mage. Actually, I think that was Conan the Destroyer... Conan the Barbarian had Arnold fucking up James Earl Jones, didn't it? You are correct on both counts, sir. While Conan the Destroyer was a decent flick, Conan the Barbarian was light-years ahead of it... I guess they toned things down in Conan the Destroyer so more kids could see it. :;chuckles:: I won't even mention Red Sonja, which should have been better than it was, though Sandahl Bergman playing the villainess wasn't too bad.

    Everything New is Old Again

I would love to see Warrior come back just so we can watch him vanish in the middle of a storyline again.

Anyone here ever work at a....

oldschool has the right of it. Just so long as you get hired directly instead of through a temp agency.

    What is the deal...

Ah well, she tried. She didn't have the short game to make the cut. And no Vijay was *not* right, he should have just shut up and played, the prick. Whitlock was right, golf players are the biggest whiners in sports.

    Who here is racist?

On second thought... Who in the blue HELL is proud to be ignorant, and looks to opporess people when he is not thinking that he is being oppressed himself?? Face it genius; America is becoming less and less white bread every day we live. You may not agree with how someone lives their lives, but you want to know something? THAT IS WHAT THIS COUNTRY IS BASED UPON. The FREEDOM lto live your live as you see fit, be it not harm anyone else. I don;t agree with people coming into this country and refusing to speak the language either, but you know what? It is their right to do so, and whether I agree or not has about as much impact on that as a fart in a stiff wind. Considering the way you and those around you live your life, tank, I would be getting drunk every night and doing stupid things like cow tipping, too. This is the kind of fool (who is proud, PROUD to be racist) that needs to be given their own state and seal off the borders. I know this post is designed to fire people up, but ye gods, be CREATIVE about it. and considering that I am fighting off a huge bout of depression, I think I needed to vent a little bit and say what was on my mind. It would have been liberally dosed with profanity to complete the effect, but I am still at work.

    Who here is racist?

I was going to go on this long-winded rant, but I decided against it. Stupid and ignorant is no way to go through life. Nuff said.
  13. That's not a bad idea, but its too late... too bad TSR couldn't get its act together in anyway, because a halfway decent DL movie would have really launched the company... through the 80s and into the 90s, no one would take them seriously, despite rampant rumors of a D&D movie. Even though its been overdone in the novels, I think a "Guardians of the Flame" style of movie would work just great... that way they could at least *JUSTIFY* the tons of modern references..
  14. They Live > Body Slam >>>> No Holds Barred Acting: Piper > Hogan
  15. because I am sure Ed greenwood would want an INSANE amount of money... thats why the Forgotten Realms supplements are the most expensive.
  16. the angle in the WWE at the time was even worse in the movie...
  17. Tino, the Pistons need a true center. Ben Wallace can play center, but he is much most comfortable playing the 4. Add to that Ben is either 6'8" or 6'9", decent for a PF but really undersized for a C. Considering that most of the players coming out of Europe have been pretty damned good, this could be the final piece to the Pistons' puzzle. And yes, I am still wondering just how in the hell an aged, broken-down Otis Thorpe gets traded for the #2 overall draft pick.... that just boggles the mind. Then again, its the Grizzlies.
  18. I TOLD you that by hook or by crook LeBron was going to Cleveland.....there was just too much going for it for him to go anywhere else.... If Darko is as good as everyone says he is, That might be the one thing that could but Detroit over the top in the East... but we shall see what they do come draft day...
  19. I started with the Basic and Expert rules, then went to 1st edition, thumbed my nose at 2nd until I actually *played* in a 2nd Ed. campaign, and I refuse to buy 3rd edition, as it would completely screw up all of my campaign work, just from coverting my NPCs. I've played 3rd Ed... its a decent enough game, I just look at the prices for the rule books and I go "uh uh!" For a good platform from which to spring a good D&D movie, look no further than Conan the Barbarian, with a nod to Braveheart for the graphic violence. Conan may be 21 years old, but it was a great sword & sorcery flick. Violence, gore, sex, and a halfway decent plot. Yeah buddy.

    WWE Folder

Even before I jumped onto smark boards, it was painfully obvious about the state of the WWE. The thing that really tore it for me was the Katie Vick storyline. I bitch about WWE because its a catharsis for me. I have watched this federation for years, ever since my first match on cable (Patterson V. Slaughter in a Texas Death Match), up until I got this job where I miss it except on weekends, and even then 9 times out of 10 I will miss it because my social life has been compressed into early mornings and weekends. Quite simply put, I am a fan of GOOD wrestling. To paraphase what Downhome said, any match that makes me care about it is a good one, from old school to hardcore to spotfests. My main complaint about WWE is that with the exception of the smark darlings (Angle, Benoit, Jericho, et al), is that crappy writing and lack of continuity aside, there just has not been very good wrestling. Combine that with the "we are the only big game in town and there are two things you can do about it: nothing, and like it" prevalent attitude, I've basically given up on it. But when someone does make a good point in a thread, I was first inclined to jump right in. Not any longer, now. It is human nature to bitch and complain, even when things are going great (in the case of the WWE, they most certainly are not). To be honest, I find the other folders to be much more entertaining and informative, not to mention conferring and reminiscing with others on here about video games, music and movies, some of the many passions I have. I like this place a lot, and I value a lot of you guys for giving me a lot to think about and respond to, when I would have died from sheer boredom during my work shift. On to Jubuki: Dames, you did the right thing, even though you struggled against yourself at first. Hell, I was born and raised an hour's drive up I-95 from NYC, and the heavy end of the hammer would have fallen on him the very second I read that post if I were in your position. There are some things that you don't use for inflammatory comments, and if 9/11 isn't #1 on that list, its certainly in the top three.

    Good songs ruined by over-exposure

Rando: The Way was FAR more overplayed. the only thing on FM radio that I enjoy is Howard Stern. Nuff Said. :;makes a mental note to get a head cleaner/de-magnetizer for the old tape deck in his car::

    Tropical Sprite ReMix

I think its tastes pretty good. I have yet to try DnL, though. Cherry 7up was the worst... I like my sodas to be on the sweet side but it was too damned sweet... heh, then again 7up has always been a step slow, it took them a long ass time to upgrade the formula and make the lemon/lime taste stronger.
