McCain seems to be closing the gap, and these are mostly preconvention polling results. It'll be interesting to see next week's numbers.

'U.S.A.' chant is code to drown out protesters.

The debates will be the final nail in McCain's coffin. Not because McCain isn't knowledgable about the issues or doesn't have intelligent things to say, but just the contrast between the two men in terms of presentation.

He's also in the upcoming "An American Carol" propaganda movie.

YEAH-UH! Factcheck.org did a good job dismantling Lieberman's speech: http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/go...ntion_spin.html Someone's ass is grass the day after the election. Obama reacts to last night...

To be fair, it was Hillary's surrogates, not her, complaining about sexism. She did complain about the media not being fair to her for other reasons, though.

I was going to ask how being commander of the Alaska National Guard has prepared Paslin, but someone already found the answer for me. http://www.adn.com/sarah-palin/story/515499.html

I think the Republicans decided a long time ago that they can be as hypocritical as they want, and it won't hurt them on election day so long as they "turn out the base." That's the only way to explain this campaign. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080904/ap_on_el_pr/cvn_palin So, if you were a member of the press, what question would you most want to ask her?

Does that mean you're finally going to stick to on topic discussion instead of attacking me personally, Mr. Moderator? All I'm asking you to do is follow the rules of the board you're supposed to be enforcing on the rest of us.

I shared my opinion based on things you have said. And I will continue to if I feel like it. Ahem. I was also complaining about Karl Rove last week and Rudy Guiliani this week. Does that mean I also have a problem with men?
-
Nice high ground there. Says a lot more about you than it does about me. And none of this has anything to do with my marriage. Or the election. See my point yet? But I can guarantee you're not a marriage counselor.

I don't mind. If I were to post like you do (but from a right-wing perspective), I'd get laughed off this site, and rightfully so. You're a joke. Don't tell me what I want or want not to do. You may not like my unflinching support for Barack Obama, but I'm free to be as right or wrong as anyone else here. My opinions have nothing to do with my personality, personal relationships, or anything else people feel like it is okay to attack me for. And as a moderator (probably the only responsibility you've ever had in your entire life) I'd expect you to try and keep the discussion on topic, instead of joining in and encouraging irrelevant ad hominems.

One thing I'm glad Obama has done is completely ignore Sarah Palin. Elections are won and lost based on the top of the ticket.

Lest you forget that thread in which he talked about the urges he had to cheat on his wife and nearly getting fired from his job because of it, then yes, I'm sure he does! I assume healthy marriages are something you're an expert on? This really isn't a place you want to go. Stick to talking about politics, please.

Sounds like they'll support anyone with ovaries.

Do you have a problem with my idea, or are you just coming after me because all the cool kids are doing it? Chelsea Clinton was the BUTT of Republican jokes for years. I think the American people need to be reminded of that. Hillary Clinton can credibly refute Palin's complaining about sexism, Chelsea Clinton can refute Republican whining about coming after daughters. Am I wrong? Refute? Clint-dawg can REFUTE so-called media sexism, as the woman who single-handedly made almost every talking head put their tail between their legs and apologize for attacking her in virtually any way? She can do it by bringing up Palin's criticism of her during the primaries, coupled with a "Republican policies are bad for working families" argument. Really, anyone can do it, it'll just sound better coming from Hillary.

In one night, Sarah Palin has gone from being the female version of George W. Bush to the female version of Spiro Agnew. I don't think Joe Biden is the right person to send after Palin, but I know who is.

And she won't be winning Ben Stein's money anytime soon, either.

Everyone's doing the Palin replay now....Newt Gingrich was on Hannity and Colmes prior to the speech from the "governor of our largest state." Now, just to prove that Republicans will sell out at the drop of a hat, Gingrich stated that Mrs. Palin had more executive expereince than he did. Okay...this shit has gone too far. Newt Gingrich, despite the fact he's a slimey toad and I hate almost everything about him, was Speaker of the House of Representatives. He RAN an important part of our national government for 4 years. He didn't do it WELL, but he did do it. Is he so totally without intellectual honesty, pride, or respect for his own career that he's trying to make the woman who has ran one of our 4 least populated states only since the end of 2006 sound more qualified to be president than he is? This is fucking SURREAL.

I want to know if my year as president of my high school math club counts as executive experience. Somewhere, ACORN is planning to reign down hell on Guiliani for laughing at Obama's years as a community organizer.

I'm pretty sure when my stepdad was being shot at in Vietnam, he wasn't thinking "Some day kids are going to be able to sit in a desk at school because of this!"
