Anyone know if the Huckabee story about the school desks (a.k.a. THE DUMBEST STORY EVER) is actually true or not?

Known liberal rag The New York Times brings their east coast elitist reporting to brave Sarah's tenure as mayor: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/03/us/polit...Jh6wQAaxdbZI8fQ

It wasn't a bad speech. It was just petty and stereotypical. The only obvious fuck-up was when she referred to Harry Reid as "the Senate Majority." And, as previously noted, she sounds just like the pregnant sheriff in Fargo. This speech should do wonders for gender equity by proving that a female Republican's speech can be just as partisan and cliched as a man's. She'll be winning no Hillary supporters tonight. Actually, I'm relieved by it because it means that the Democrats are free to go after her for not knowing shit about shit.

Cowboy Troy, Gretchen Wilson, and John Rich took the stage. Let's make me hate the Republicans even more.

Top 10 Things I learned (so far) at the Republican Convention: 10. John McCain was a P.O.W. 9. Being mayor is hard, gosh darn it! 8. 9/11. 7. John McCain was a P.O.W. 6. Apparently being a community organizer is akin to town drunk, or a crack dealer, or something. 5. Small towns good. Big cities bad. 4. John McCain was a P.O.W. 3. Electing the same people who've been in charge for the last 8 years = change. 2. Alaska is an economic juggernant and savior of western civilization. And number one... John McCain was a P.O.W.

"Oh, my, that John McCain sure is sumthin'! Oh, yeah."

Hey, Sarah, tell us about how smaller government means banning abortions for rape victims and censorship of books!!!!

"She said Ohio! I'm from Ohio! YAYYYY!!!!"

Going after Obama and lying about his record is a bad idea for her. She just put the bull's-eye back on her back. She's also probably losing a lot of Hillary supporters right now with this wave of standard right-wing propaganda.

I didn't have that problem. Pure hypocrisy is like caffeine to me.

So...Was that the natural gas pipeline that she said God wanted built?

This speech stands up to neither logical nor factual scrutiny. So of course, it'll be considered a great success.

"I'm not a member of the permanent political establishment." You mean like John McCain?
-
Oh, fuck you for invoking Truman. "Unlikely path the the vice-presidency"? YEAH, HE WAS A U.S. SENATOR. Morons. "Let me explain to them what the job involves." Hiring lobbyists to get your town $27 million in federal earmarks?

Tonight's hairstyle: Lt. Saavik in Star Trek II. Not to question anyone's parenting skills...but who the fuck brings a sleeping infant to a political rally held at 9:33pm at night?
-
Rudy spoke so long, they had to cancel the Palen tribute video.
-
Is it humanly possible for this speech to get even more hypocritical, dishonest, and all-around dickish?
-
Ok, now he's just making shit up.
-
"Who won? Al Qaeda? Bin Laden?" THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IRAQ, YOU DUMB ASS.
-
I'm surprised they're not showing footage of the towers collapsing behind him as he speaks.
-
He's fucking laughing at Barack Obama. Guiliani looks like a complete asshole right now.
-
He worked as a community organizer!!! Hah-ha-ha!!! That's so fucking funny!!! Douchebag.
-
So far tonight we've heard the "take Washington back from the liberals" argument , "the vote for a war hero" argument, and the "resume matters" argument, and now a combination of the three from Guiliani.

Sorry to say, but the whining all day from the conservatives has made Palin off limits now. The press didn't break the pregnant daughter story, the McCain campaign did. But they can get away with blaming the press for it, and that gives her enough sympathy to innoculate her against legitimate concerns about her experience and truthfulness about her own record. I find it absolutely brain-dead on the press's part to be made to look guilty for repeating a true story about her daughter because families are off limits, but totally fall for it when candidates try to use their kids to win votes.

Jonah Goldberg is on Glen Beck tonight. (I guess the replay is on right now.) Hey, did you know Sarah Palin has faced more media scrutiny than Barack Obama? On Larry King they're talking about how white the Republican Convention is.
