  1. Thanks for the interest man, knowing people are enjoying it is what makes it all worth it! w00t
  2. Super Crazy vs. Tajiri vs. Little Guido - the epitome of bloodletting!!! :::rolls eyes:::
  3. The Josh Lazie interview is going to be conducted within the next few days. If you have any questions for Josh, get them in BY TOMORROW MORNING at latest. As of this point, I have over 100 questions I will ask him. Josh has seen and done it all as far as XPW is considered. He's been to FMW and Stampede and Mexico. He's interacted with everyone from Bruce Hart to Onita to Abdullah the Butcher to Terry Funk. He has toured the world with the legendary rock band Danzig, playing in arenas packed by the thousands from Japan to Germany to beyond. He has managed the one and only Sabu and was perhaps Sabu's closet confidants for the better part of two years. He was right in the middle of the Messiah/Rob/Lizzy scandal. Also, for the first time, Lazie will tell his side of the story about the incident when he and Sabu got locked in jail together in Mexico on a passport issue. As I said once before, I didn't think ANYBODY would be able to beat the candor that Steve Rizzono gave me the many times I've talked to him, but I have a feeling Josh Lazie is going to take that spot back.
  4. He has this thread listen in the "Press" section of the site. Yeah, this thread is great press for the DVD...
  5. Sabu, Dustin Rhodes, Fit Finlay, Tony DeVito, Gangrel, Essa Rios/Mr. Aguila, Juventud Guerrera, Konnan, Johnny Grunge, Gypsy Joe
  6. UPDATE: Ever since breaking some of CZW's recent developments (which I've included the original story after this update), the DOI has been receiving a ton of email about the latest CZW occurrences. The DOI can confirm that Mike Burns is no longer booking for the company, but will continue to film all future CZW events under his Smart Mark Video company banner. The DOI can also confirm that Michael Pancoast has left the company, but the door to return is always open for him. He could even return to the company in time for CZW's 1/14 event. However, at the moment, Pancoast does not want to return, as it might make him look "weak", as one CZW wrestler told me. As noted earlier, the CZW website, which was maintained by Michael Pancoast, has been altered drastically. A message saying that the site is "Under Construction" is currently posted on the site, which you can read for yourself at CZWrestling.com. There was a message on the site earlier this week, saying that the site has nothing to do with Pancoast Productions, but that message has since been taken down. From the wrestlers and staff of CZW that I've talked to, many feel that if Pancoast is gone for good, the company will suffer a crippling blow. The same wrestlers and staff of CZW that I talked to, also thought Zandig taking back the booker job from Burns is a huge mistake, and the company will revert back to what it was 5 years ago. It also should be noted that Burns and Pancoast want nothing to do with the spotlight and just want to stay behind the scenes. Their biggest goal is to make CZW the top company around, and not to be involved with any drama or internet stories. That is why you probably won't hear a statement from either, as they would rather do their business and not be the center of attention. As far as the No-Ropes-Barbed-Wire match that CZW has been advertising for 1/14, between Zandig and Necro Butcher, that match will go on as planned. Originally, Zandig announced the match, at Cage of Death VII, without clearing it with the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission first. However, Frank Talent confirmed today, on his radio show, that he had a meeting with several state officials and with Maven Bentely (The CZW licensed promoter) earlier this week, to get everything straightened out. As noted before on this site, the PSAC are not heavily opposed to these barbaric matches as they were in the past, but they want to know what's getting announced ahead of time. Using the barbed wire as a gimmick way to draw fans or not, is not an issue. Clearing the match before announcing it to the public IS the issue. As we reported in an earlier article, CZW's belltime, which was scheduled for 7:30 PM on 1/14, then moved to 2PM, has now been changed back to its original 7:30PM start time. Frank Talent announced earlier on his radio show, that due to the "courtesy law", no two groups in Philadelphia can run head-to-head. With that announcement in place, it should be interesting to see what happens with the heavily hyped Chris Hero vs American Dragon match. If ROH gets moved to the week after (1/21), like Talent alluded to, this match could be in jeopardy. With all the recent developments, such as Burn's dismissal as booker from the company, as of right now, I see the Hero/Dragon match taking place in ROH, and not in CZW, if it still goes on as planned. Zandig is not a fan of this match, and wants to go back to the blood, guts and no-selling type of wrestling, rather than booking matches for the smart mark Philly fans. Jim Cornette, who now has a greater role in ROH, and is taking care of some of the booking responsibilities of ROH, cut a promo hyping up Chris Hero. It wouldn't make sense for ROH to hype up another promotions match, which is why many believe the match will now take place in ROH, rather in CZW as originally planned. It is odd, or perhaps coincedental, that after years of rejecting Chris Hero in ROH, that the second a RF Video associated promotion, PW Elite, announces Hero as a main eventer for them, ROH now has a sudden interest in using Hero as a regular. With Zandig now controlling all creative aspects of his company, the following matches are announced for CZW's 1/14 return date: No Ropes, Barbed Wire: Zandig vs The Necro Butcher Nick Gage vs JC Bailey Joker vs Justice Pain I have to say that all this drama surrounding CZW's 1/14 has been great, in my opinion, for the company. January, the month after Cage of Death, has been notorious over the years, for having some of the lowest gates in CZW history. Now, there is alot of talk about CZW's January date, and fan interest for this January event is higher than any other previous CZW January show. Burns, who was responsible for originally booking Hero/Dragon knew what he was doing in this regard. However, Zandig is reaping the benefits with some of his less than perfect decisions, such as his altercation with Pancoast, letting Burns go, etc. While CZW has alot of hype now, it should be really interesting to see what happens in February, after the January show has taken place.
  7. Found this on the SCU board. Check it out. http://www.barbwire-press.com/KrisKloss.mp3 He echoes a lot of what he told me about taking the fans for granted and such.
  8. OK God, I'm sorry for disappointing you. I'm pretty sure Chris Hamrick, Chris Kanyon, and a few others care, as they've called me about it.
  9. CREDIT: DOI, so take it for what it's worth The DOI has been receiving several emails from several employees/talent/staff of CZW, talking about an incident involving CZW Owner, John Zandig and CZW Production Assistant, Michael Pancoast. According to several people in CZW, apparently there was a physical altercation between the two, at Cage of Death VII. During Cage of Death VII, former CZW IronMan Champion, Chris Hero, cut a promo, challenging American Dragon Bryan Danielson for a match at the next event. When Zandig heard the promo live, he was fuming and irate. Apparently, Zandig did not know about the deal that CZW booker, Mike Burns arranged with ROH Booker, Gabe Sapolsky. The news of CZW working with ROH, made Zandig go into a frenzy. Upon hearing the news, backstage, Zandig was going nuts, and even threatened not to wrestle in the main event of Cage of Death. Why Zandig would sabotage his own company is not known, as of press time. Michael Pancoast, who many might not know, but is very valuable to the company, as he handles the website, the graphic/designs for CZW, the CZWtron, the Ultraviolent Underound and other numerous oddjobs, went to approach Zandig as Zandig was flipping out. Pancoast asked Zandig why would you do this to CZW, especially after all the work that everyone in CZW put into Cage of Death? Zandig told Pancoast not to raise his voice with him, but Pancoast was visiably and understandably upset. After having a very vocal argument, where Pancoast was trying to look out for the best interests of CZW, John Zandig couldn't control his anger, and allegedly, pushed Michael Pancoast down a flight of stairs, from the Crows nest. It is not known if Pancoast was able to break the fall, by holding the rail, during mid flight down the steps, or if he had a crash landing on the locker room floor. Allegedly, when Zandig pushed Michael Pancoast down, he was quoted, to me, by one CZW staff member as saying, "Make sure to grab the rail on your way down." After this incident, and after being pissed about the Chris Hero/Dragon ROH Deal, it has come to the DOI's attention, that CZW booker, Mike Burns has left CZW. What is not known as of right now, is if Mike Burns quit CZW or was relieved of his duties by John Zandig. What is known was that Zandig was steaming mad at Burns for setting up a deal with ROH, without telling him first. Mike Burns has been credited with turning the company around this year, and has been largely responsible for CZW's success this year. According to several CZW employees, Zandig was overheard saying he's going to turn the company back to the way it was. Zandig also made reference to Burns departure at the end of Cage of Death, when he said he was going to change the company back to the way it was, which could be a good or bad thing. As of right now, Mike Burns is not going to be at CZW's next event. However, his company, Smart Mark Video, is still believed to be taping the event. Glen and Gary of SMV, are supposedly going to be manning the camera's at CZW's next event in January. While speaking of CZW's next event, CZW is advertising a "No-Ropes-Barbed-Wire" match between CZW Owner, John Zandig and Indy Hardcore Journeyman, Necro Butcher. According to state officials that the DOI has been in contact with, John Zandig has been told in the past that he can't do this type of match, under the PSAC rules & regulations. Apparantly, Zandig is attempting to defy the PSAC's power to enforce the rules, as Zandig is promoting the match without clearing it with the PSAC first. It should be noted that when Hardcore Homecoming did their "No-Ropes-Barbed-Wire" match, officials from Hardcore Homecoming asked the PSAC what they could do ahead of time and cleared the match before promoting it. That is why Hardcore Homecoming was allowed to do their bout. In addition, Hardcore Homecoming didn't use a "No-Ropes-Barbed-Wire" match in their advertising for the event, and drew a large crowd without using the gimmick match to draw fans. In an attempt to gather more information about all these occurrences, I checked out the official CZW website, at CZWrestling.com. Upon arriving at the website, I noticed that the original site and archives have all been taken down. It is known that Michael Pancoast runs the website and is in charge of maintaining it. However, if you go to CZW's website today, you'll notice that the site, which was Flash heavy and graphic heavy, has been reduced to one page of straight up text. There was no explanation given to why the website was changed, when it looked so good in the past. As of right now, the DOI doesn't know the status of Michael Pancoast in CZW. It is alleged that Zandig has tried extending an olive branch to Michael, but several in CZW have told the DOI that Pancoast would be nuts to accept it. The one thing that really sticks out to me, from a personal note, is the fact that so many people in CZW were willing to provide this information to the DOI. For a company that has been close knit for many years, I couldn't believe the abundance of information that I was receiving. Having been covering the indies for several years now, whenever controversy like this is spread, and openly talked about to people like myself, and others who cover indy wrestling, usually the writing is on the wall. In an attempt to shed more light on these events, the DOI has been in contact with someone with knowledge of this situation. We will attempt to do an interview with this person on Thursday, here on the DOI site. CZW returns on 1/14 at the New Alhambra.
  10. "Phenomenal" Phil Lander has agreed to contribute to the retrospective. Most of you probably don't know who Phil is. He was on many of XPW's early shows. Unfortunately, he didn't last long with the company because he and Rob didn't really get along (which is the reason most guys left the company), but Phil was one of the best light heavyweight workers not just in XPW, but on the entire So-Cal indy circuit. He was as good, IF NOT BETTER than Kaos, but unfortunately not too many of his matches have been released so not very many people have gotten to see the greatness that is Phenomenal Phil. The guy was super innovative with a lot of moonsault variations that were really swank.
  11. Have never had any problems with torrents before, but now any torrent I try to open, I get this message: Couldn't listen - unable to forward port via UPnP Any idea what's up? What's wierd is that my Internet works perfectly fine. Thanks in advance.
  12. Rob Black will be one of the main focuses of a new porn documentary called "Porn Shadows," which is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2006. I'll try to get more info on this if I can. Also, best of luck to Kristi Myst as she broke some bones in her leg last week and had to get a bunch of surgery on it. Also, many wrestlers - including some relatively big names - are still being contacted to contribute to the retrospective. The web site will also be up in a few weeks (I know I've been hyping it forever, but the dumbass who was supposed to do the layout and banner is taking his sweet time).
  13. I so can’t believe the lack of appreciation The Carnage Crew gets. They’re easily one of the best tag teams on the entire circuit, and they have been for the last two years. To me, it’s a shock that they don’t get booked outside of ROH (save for three or four appearances in JAPW). They’re absolutely perfect fits in CZW (although Zandig’s burned the bridge with DeVito, and Loc himself told me he’s not interested in going back to CZW [did a one-time appearance in ’01]). Hell, I’m surprised Ian’s never booked them in IWA-MS, besides that one-time singles appearance of Loc. Loc & DeVito play their tough guy personas to absolutely perfection, but unlike a lot of other people who use that style, they know how to do it while not hurting their opponents (just look at the insane bumps Dunn & Marcos took in the CC/RCE feud…they would’ve seriously injured long ago if Loc & DeVito didn’t know how to protect them). You gotta also respect how much of a 180° turn they’ve done over the last four years. In ECW, Loc was a referee and DeVito was the forerunner of Da Baldies, which in itself was a totally thought-after stable. They’ve really developed their own identities since ECW went under and they began teaming in ROH. The fact that DeVito is 300+ lb. and can do a Moonsault is just icing on the cake. Here’s to more Carnage Crew appreciation in 2006.
  14. Sweet. I have many others where those came from if you need more. XPW referee Danny Ramirez has been confirmed to contribute comments to the retrospective.
  15. A couple weeks ago, Rob & Lizzy's defeat of the federal government in court won first place for AVN's 2005 Reuben Sturman Award. Many people didn't like the decision and believed that Rob and Lizzy did not deserve the award, such as Mike South. On the other hand, Luke Ford, who has been one of Black's harshest critics in the past, is staying neutral. "I don't have a position on the Rob Black award and similar matters," Ford says. "I prefer to observe rather than advocate." Black is a former winner of AVN's Best Video Director back in 1998. In early 2005, he and Lizzy beat the federal government in a major court case that changed the way that pornography is legally interpreted.
  16. I contacted Kristi Myst but she declined a request for an XPW interview, so unfortunately she won't be contributing comments to the retrospective. Kristi is sorry that she won't be participating, but thanks everyone who was a fan of her XPW work.
  17. Splooge?
  18. I made it myself when I was bored. Do you like it?
  19. I heard coyotes last night, too. No joke. I don't live near mountains...I just live near...coyotes...
  20. Ron Jeremy - the most famous male porn star of all-time - has been contacted with a request for an interview about his time with XPW. I very much doubt he will grant it, but anything's possible, and if he says no, can't say I didn't try. Also, Kris Kloss' interview has been conducted and he had a lot to say about his XPW tenure (and he was one of a very select few people to last the company's entire run).
  21. Yes, it is indeed a Code Red a.k.a. a Snap Seesaw-style Sunset Flip.
  22. I dunno, Leelee. I also heard rumors that Christian would wrestle Petey Williams at the PPV. So that card may not be totally accurate.
  23. If you don't want to read the spoilers of the iMPACT! tapings, then please don't scroll down. Shannon Moore debuted against Chris Sabin, losing to the former-X Division champ in a dark match. In my opinion, its good to see Shannon in TNA. I think he has a lot to offer them. Besides that, the full results are: Impact - Airing 11/19 *They announced Christopher Daniels suffered a "Grade-3 concussion" due to the attack by Samoa Joe on the Genesis PPV. They announced the barbed wire match for the PPV. *Samoa Joe defeated Jerelle Clark. After the match, AJ Styles appeared on the video screen, discussing that Joe went over the line of the X-Division's "code of respect." He challenged Joe to face him at Turning Point. *Don West and Mike Tenay discussed the barbed wire match and who would be the number one contender for the NWA title at Turning Point and challenge Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett came out and demanded to know who he would be facing at the PPV. *NWA Tag Team champions America's Most Wanted defeated Sonny Siaki & Apolo. After the match, they brought a table into the ring and spraypainted 3-D on it. They were going to put someone through it with the Death Sentence but Team 3-D hit the ring and AMW retreated. Brother Ray said that if they want to know about Tables Matches, they can have a Tables Match for the NWA Tag straps at Turning Point. *Backstage, Shane Douglas found NWA champion Jeff Jarrett and Gail Kim at the door to Larry Zbyszko's office. They didn't get their answer. *Shane Douglas interviewed 3 Live Kru. BG James said that he had an announcement "next week" regarding 3LK and wouldn't tell Konnan and Ron Killings what it was. *Rhino pinned Abyss, hitting the gore after Sabu came out with the chair wrapped in barbed wire. *Backstage, Larry Zbyszko is with Jeff Jarrett and they announce Rhino will be facing Jarrett for the title at the Turning Point PPV. *Christian Cage came to the ring for his Impact debut and cut a promo. He said a lot of similar shoot comments towards PPV that he made at the Genesis PPV. Monty Brown came to the ring and said that Cage hasn't proven a thing in TNA. Brown tried to say that Christian was going to get the Pounce, but Christian cut him off on the mic. Christian said that Brown was afraid to lose his spot to Cage. Christian did the "Pounce" line. Brown attacked Christian and hit the Pounce. Impact - 11/26: *3 Live Kru and Kip James came to the ring. Killings and Konnan were upset about BG James always defending Kip James. BG wanted them to give Kip their blessing to be part of the Kru. Killings said yes and Konnan eventually said yes. They're now the 4 Live Kru. *TNA X-Division champion AJ Styles defeated Chris Sabin in a good match. *Backstage, Shane Douglas was with Larry Zbyszko. Raven was in a car about to leave and Zbyszko offered him his release again. Raven refused and Zbyszko said that if that was the case, next week on Impact would be a "House of Fun" match. *Monty Brown pinned Evil Helvis in seconds after the Pounce. *Shane Douglas interviewed Christian Cage about getting Pounced last week. Cage challenged for a match against Monty Brown at Turning Point. Gail Kim came out and said that it was great that Christian was in TNA but he made the wrong decision at the PPV. America's Most Wanted showed up and told Cage he'll never get near the NWA title. *Jeff Hardy pinned Abyss with the Twist of Fate. The lights went out and when they came back on Sabu was there with the barbed wire chair and a spike, setting up the finish. *NWA champion Jeff Jarrett pinned Kip James with the Stroke after Bobby Rude hit James with a hockey stick. During the match, Jackie Gayda debuted, slapping Jarrett and got into it with Gail Kim. After the bout, BG James came out, leading to 4 Live Kru and Team Canada hitting the ring. Christian Cage hit the ring and hit the Unprettier on Petey Williams. Xplosion: *Matt Bentley & Shark Boy defeated the Beasts of Burden. *The Naturals & Lance Hoyt defeated The Diamonds in the Rough. TNA Turning Point PPV lineup on 12/11: *NWA champion Jeff Jarrett vs. Rhino *TNA X-Division champion AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe *Sabu vs. Abyss - Barbed Wire *NWA Tag Team champions America's Most Wanted vs. Team 3-D - Tables Match *Christian Cage vs. Monty Brown
  24. Earlier today on ESPN Radio's "The Herd With Colin Cowherd", Colin Cowherd said some rude comments about Eddie Guerrero's passing. He accused Eddie and other wrestlers of steroid use. Cowherd said, "who cares that he died" and that Guerrero's death was not "newsworthy." He also started speculation on the "unknown causes" of his death. Cowherd has gotten tons and tons of hate messages for what he said. You can call ESPN's customer service line at 860-766-2000. Tell the person who answers you want to leave a message about Eddie Guerrero and they will transfer you to a line dedicated entirely to messages from people who disagreed with what Cowherd had to say. I think it speaks volumes that they've made a line entirely for Eddie-related messages. Hopefully this asshole gets fired from his job for what he said. ESPN has already been absolutely bombarded with e-mails and messages unlike never before. They had to disconnect their phone line for awhile today and their switchboard was having problems also due to the incredibly high amount of calls. However, the rumors that their customer service line is currently disconnected is false; I just called minutes ago and left a message. The number again is 860-766-2000. Also be sure to sign the Fire Colin Cowherd petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/firecc/petition.html
