Buy the cheap book and photocopy the extra pages. If it's a college course I doubt you'll be asked to stand up and read aloud or anything along those lines. The second edition probably just still has U.S.S.R on the map.

Ultimate Spider-man is ok but I've only ever really taken it as a fluff comic. The new Brand new Spider-man comics have been pretty decent and have felt like old school late 70s/ early 80s Spider-man. Brubaker probably is one of the best writers they have right now but I still find Bendis entertaining. I have to agree that Loeb is terrible. While I haven't read Batman Hush, my understanding was that it was a great work and Loeb was a genius. I don't think a single project Loeb has worked on since writing for Marvel has been any good. From his start with Wolverine #50 (don't even try to follow that piece of shit) Ultimate Power (which I though JMS started but Loeb definately finished) the Ultimates 3 which is just all over ther place, and the art work is too dark (I haven't read #3 yet) and now Hulk. I read the first one and it was passable but I didn't pick up the second (which I hear was dog shit). All in all I read a good number of the marvel titles and I think most of them are good books. It'll be interesting what happens with the Secret Invasion

Poor Rex will really need to step up his game this season but with a decent O-line he could be productive. At the end of last season he was producing when he had time in the pocket. A friend systematically told me the final season of Oz in great detail when I was on like season 3. By the time I got to the end, it wasn't shock or surprise to any of the twists, more of a "oh, so thats how that death happend". Oz was the turning point that put me off spoilers, as I was so into the show and it killed my buzz when I finally got to the end months later. Cyril's first excecution did get me choked up. Second one was just too cold for me to care.
