Actually, I do understand as to why he posted this thread. I don't know about you, but we seem to cover more of what is terrible about TNA in this folder than what TNA is doing good. Like I mentioned in TheBigSwigg's Taste Test (he should use that name for his review...I give you all rights and privileges Swiggy ), I personally think that a lot is focused on the bad and not as much on the good, so it's a nice breath of fresh air to see someone point out something good once in a while about TNA, even if it could have been posted someone else...not the WORST.FUCKING.THREAD.EVER hehe Just playin with ya Voice.

[marking out mode] IT'S CATCHING ON!!! WHOO HOOO!! [end marking out] *Ahem* Anyways, I find that it was an ok review. A little too negative for my tastes. I am just sayin that if I was reading your column and never watched the show, I wouldn't really be wanting to watch it. There were some good points that you made about the bad parts, but it kinda overshadowed the good parts of the show. Maybe add something at the end like THE L~A~Z did with a good and bad list. Hey...maybe make a Good, Bad and Ugly list. The ugly list can be filled with the worst botch of the night. lol Good job on your first review...unless you have done some previous reviews elsewhere.

The thing with Russo being an on air character is that JJJ WANTS him on there to feud with. Russo has said that he doesn't want to be in the feud, but JJJ wants it so he gets it. That's why he is on.

"You're looking at the real deal now." That was what was in his old WWF entrance music from when he just left The Nation. Could always just call the team Sky High, since it's the name of one of D'Lo's signature moves, and AJ is also a high-flyer. OR how about Phenomally High, but wait...that would be a better description of a RVD & AJ Styles tag team Hmmm....why don't we come up with an idea for a new gimmick similar to 3 Count?
-
I voted for Abyss & Dallas vs. Phenomally Amazing Since Jerry Lynn and Amazing Red were F'n Amazing, I figured we could give AJ & D'Lo a cool nickname as well. I have always been apathetic it AMW, but this match made me like them. I do have one question though...Does James Storm ALWAYS have to pull himself to the corner using the ropes EVERYTIME to make the HOT~TAG!!!!?

I will answer after I watch the tape later tonight

I figured out why you crowned them F'N Amazing, and I was tryin to figure out a good one for AJ & D'Lo like that, but I couldn't. All I came up with was Phenomally Amazing. Seems to me that you easily found a good one yourself, so it now looks like THE L-A-Z is now the official nickname giver for TNA. Does D'Lo have any old sayings from WAY back in WWF? Maybe we could use something from then. Just be thankful it's not wCw. They would have named them Down with the Styles and given them "That 70s Guy" Mike Awesome's 70s get up that he and Crowbar wore. :shudders:

This match should be good as well. Sabu and Dutt looked good as a team a few weeks ago on Impact and Team Canada is about to single-handedly save TNA's tag division, so this should be interesting. Team Canada will most likely win here to continue up the ranks, and Raven will probably be a factor in the decision if he's feeling better. This may be the match that helps bring back the Tag Team scene. If Sabu can keep the blown spots to a minimum, this COULD be a ***1/2 match, but that said, I think that it will end up being no better than a **3/4 The match has every right to suck, but maybe Erik Watts has been training some, but we aren't that privileged. There are three good possibilities from this match: 1. Erik Watts wins. Goldy leaves and never shows up again. An insane Abyss (kinda redundant, I know) is let loose upon the roster...not that he isn't loose already. 2. Abyss wins. Goldy forces Erik to go to the ring every time Abyss wrestles and tell him to help out Abyss, but all he does is end up causing Abyss to lose, which sets up a GRUDGE match (hopefully not on as sucky of terms as the other grudge match currently stinking up TNA), where Erik Watts will get back his contract if he wins, but he leaves TNA if he loses. 3. Abyss wins. Goldy forces Erik to be Abyss's tag team partner. This starts Erik Watts' turn into a heel because he is forced to do heel tactics to win because this will be the only way for him to ever get gold in TNA.

I went with the first show. It had some really good matches on it. I was close to voting for Friday's episode, but The Amazing Spot Blower is probably what ended up doing it for me.
-
I just read that they sent Johnny Nitro down to OVW for training and they will bring him back as a face down the road. Maybe they will let him FINALLY hit that Standing SSP, which would get him TOTALLY over with the crowd.

Ok...was it just me or did Red seem to BOTCH 2 or 3 spots? He botched the wheelbarrow/arm drag to Nosawa; it seemed like he botched flying off the turnbuckle, but the announcers played it off as Kazarian shook the ropes; and he botched the top rope clothesline to Kazarian. He got NO distance on it. It almost seemed like he did the old Mad Mikey move the School Yard or something...not sure. I always thought that people made him seem like way more of a spot blower than he actually did, but after that 6-man match....I don't know. Other than that, it was a nice match. I give it **. Would be more without The Amazing Spot Blower screwing up. Very good work from Sabin...as usual. Everyone did their part to get the crowd hyped and going. A good way to start off the show...if you can forget the HORRIBLE looking wheelbarrow/armdrag.

I haven't seen RAW yet. Any mention of Johnny Nitro? Anybody heard anything new about what WWE has him doing?
-
How come no one else has pointed out that VINCE RUSSO doesn't want to contiue his feud with Jarrett?
-
I thought he tended to have problems entering the country. Hell, cancel Lynn v D'Amore and stick Lynn in there. I doubt you'd get complaints. -=Mike Or, have lynn pull double duty, Have him open the show with D'Amore then have him fight aj later. Tenay can play up lynn's stamina or something, i dunno. Hey....I said the EXACT same thing earlier. lol
-
I think that they might give it to Lynn. Let him beat up Damore to close the feud, then have him wrestle a second match (though if you think about it, it would probably just be half of a match) and cut a promo how tough he is and how he helped create the X-Division with Styles. Then they let them go all out. Ahh...maybe just wishful thinking.....

David Duke? um.. ooooKAY I am from Louisiana so I know LOTS about David Duke. David Duke tried running for govenor of Louisiana a few years ago. He is a former Grand Wizard for the Ku Klux Klan. He is a well known racist. In that election, he was running against a VERY crooked polictian named Edwin Edwards, who happens to be in Federal prison now because of his back-door dealings with trying to get more gambling in Louisiana. Duke lost to Edwards in what I have heard was somewhat of a landslide victory because the black vote turned out big time for the election.
-
I wanted him to bust out the standing Shooting Star Press in the match. Heck, he could have missed with it and then have Eugene beat him with the Rock Bottom/People's Elbow combination. He would be a GREAT cruiserweight, but you know WWE and cruiserweights...cruise yourself to the ring to get squashed by a less talented HOSS!!! *SIGH* Vince....why oh why have you destroyed ALL credibility to the cruiserweight division?

I just watched the show on tape and I thought that it was a good show over all. I am gonna go through the segments however they come to mind. I really liked the Sabu/Sonjay vs The Naturals tag match. The crowd was ALL for Sabu to come in and unless my eyes deceived me, he didn't blow a spot at all. I also like the tag team of Sabu and Sonjay. They could be a great addition to the tag division once the feud with Raven is over. I only saw one match with The Naturals before this match. They were ok in that first one, but this one made me more interested in them as a team. Now if they can really develop these two guys, they could really be good for the tag division. The 6-man was a good way to hype the crowd up for the opening of the show. If they are trying to be a cousin of WCW, at least they are taking one of the good things that WCW had with the cruiser/X Division matches. If you think about it, it is good that there wasn't anything special about this match. If they would have made it into a #1 contender's match, it would make me think that the Kid Kash/AJ Styles feud is about over since they already have the next guy in place for the champ. If Tenay would have just said something like "the winner of this match moves up in rank in the X-Division", THEN it would have made the match a little more important. I guess they don't let Tenay ad-lib. Sabin looked very good out there. That Japanese guy just kinda seemed to be in there. He didn't really do anything special and didn't really make an Impact! hehe Kazarian, Shane and Skipper were their usual decent selves. I don't remember Garza from WCW, but he seems like he has some experience and tends not to blow spots, which can only be good in a spotfest. The Abyss squash was a squash. I was SOOO wanting him to bust out the Torture Rack Backbreaker, but I guess that is reserved for the PPV OR an actual feud match, hopefully NOT with Erik Watts. I was able to tolerate Goldi as Abyss's manager. Hopefully they don't bring the psycho version of her to Impact. Shark Boy and Popeye was good. I wonder if they will keep using these two with promotional stuff for Universal Studios. AJ vs Mr Aguila was pretty good. I was about to get excited thinkin that they might actually let AJ use the Spiral Tap for the finisher, but alas, it seems like it is reserved like the Torture Rack Backbreaker. Mr Aguila didn't seem to blow any spots, so that's a good thing. He seemed like an actual decent wrestler. That move The Cliffhanger (not sure if that's what Tenay called it) seemed like a nice move for AJ to add to his moveset. The way they were talking about it, it seemed like he might have started to use it as a finisher, that is if Aguila wouldn't have gotten out of the pin for it. I have seen better AJ Styles matches, but this was a decent one. One to make you want to see more of it. One thing that I do want to know...what happened to the white trunks and jacket for AJ? They look a lot better on him then the red. He is even wearing it on his t-shirt. Truth vs Eric Young seemed decent. Would have liked for Young to do more heel tactics, but it's alright. I saw more heel heat last night at a VERY small independent wrestling show than that, but I guess they aren't letting them get big heel heat for right now, unless you are in a title feud. The segment after the match with JJ did leave something to be desired for. Yea, it was going good when he went after Dusty Rhodes, but c'mon...at least let Truth get in a punch or two. If you want to make it believeable that Truth has somewhat of a chance, let him get a little momentum before knocking him into the crowd. Overall, Very Good show for me. Now they just have to keep at it. Hopefully FSN will start to notice that they are getting good ratings for the show and will help promote it on the network.
