They will, building is supposedly configured for only a few thousand fans. Judging from last night's crowd, there's going to be very few real "ECW" fans there. I'm sure WWE knew RVD smoked weed, but being arrested for drug use when you're the "WWE champ" is a big deal to them (and moreover, the painkillers). They're taping two hours tonight, so hopefully we'll get to see Punk tonight. I guess the good news is short-term, we ought to see less Raw crossover going on. Lord knows if the ratings keep dropping, Vince will throw a bunch of WWE guys on the show.

That makes sense, UPW is a factory at turning out hoss wrasslers that give Vince a boner. So many terrible wrestlers come out of there. It's hilarious that Vince still thinks hosses draw money.

Just in the vehicle, if he was DUI they would have booked his ass in the local jail.

Da Meltz on WWE's reaction

Meltzer's probably just waking up.

http://www.irontontribune.com/articles/200...ews/news437.txt Working link If WWE actually enforces their drug policy, RIP ECW.

I'm not nearly as negative about it as Brooke's publicists are. If they can get some wrestling fans to buy the album (and the sheep will), it'll chart fairly well. I doubt it'll have a long-term impact on her "career". As far as Nick goes, when they showed him training on "Hogan Knows Best", he looked like he had a ton of potential when they showed him doing wrestling training, and everyone put him over as being a total natural. Granted that all could have been a work like the rest of the show (and his "first day" could have been after 2 weeks of training).

Damaja actually fits in ECW pretty well. He was basically like a white trash New Jack character in OVW As far as Doug goes, he's an awesome worker who didn't get to show it in WWE, where they neutered his moveset.
-
That'd actually be pretty good TV, especially if they got Scott Hall to show up and stand around in the background, like the "Ric Flair in the nuthouse" vignettes.

You can now download Impact episodes for $1.99 a pop on ITunes

Well, there goes ECW. Hopefully Heyman can get Brent Albright into ECW if he's really getting sent down. Dude could be a cornerstone of the new ECW if it ever gets booked right.
-
Heyman's got a boner for the Bodies song. He used it all the time when he took over OVW. Cornette used it as the OVW theme song long before Heyman became booker or even One Night Stand I... they were using it back in 2002 at least. I do remember Heyman had a boner for the song on Raw commentary back when Drowing Pool's label was advertising their CD like crazy on Raw.

He's got charisma, mic skills, and a good grasp of how to put together a match with great psychology. Moveset is good too. Technically he's not nearly as crisp as he should be.
-
The crowd accepts Punk because he's an ECW-type guy who would have surely been in the old ECW had they stuck around. And the fact that he worked ROH, IWA-MS, etc.
-
That'll be sweet if Punk gets to keep his ROH/OVW music in ECW.

I just dont see where it can go. They're not going to create a women's title, and she definitely cannot be a knockout. Face wrestlers shouldn't need hulking female bodyguards. So, unless she turns heel, I predict that she will disappear from TV within a few weeks/months. I imagine it would have been Jackie's role had she not got preggers.

Credit: Yahoo.com Its only 25 million dollars. The guy's net worth has to be over 100 million. Everything I've read is that he invested his money really wisely he made on wrestling (which is a truckload).

The obvious thing that's going to happen is they're going to build to Angle v.s. a new MMA-style character (like what Puder did in OVW).
-
These last couple weeks are probably the first time he's actually seen Sabu wrestle (outside of ONS I). You don't pick up things like how Sabu has an aura and charisma when you see the highlight reel stuff of him. And thank goodness CM Punk is coming up. He'll make a big difference.
-
Still some shit that needs to be fixed, but given the political realities of what they have to do, it was much, much improved over last week and a fairly good show. Between this WWE v.s. ECW crap, and getting over Angle/Show's new characters and Dreamer/Sandman/Sabu to the non-ECW fans, it'll be a few more weeks before we get into the full swing of things. But I'm back to being optimistic about things since Heyman was obviously in control of most of this show, unlike last week.

That's Shelly

Fun show... sports entertainment and a huge Sabu spot are enough to make this a thumbs up. A lot of it was just the chaotic feel of the show and a great crowd tonight.

It was pretty strongly implied during the "Jackie has dirt on Jarrett storyline" that if Jarrett got fired, Larry Z was going with him, so it does make sense that he'd protect Jarrett when the chips were down.

A lot of these things could be said about TNA and ROH. I know I'll get blasted by a lot of the people here by comparing the three, but it's true. Same small venues, wrestlers that worked their ass off and no mention of politics (save JJ). Just great wrestling. That's it. None of the crap that goes along with it in WWE. Only ECW did it about 10 years ago. They were the orginators. Never heard of Joel Goodhart's TWA promotion in Philly? They originated a lot but not as much as they get credit for. A lot of the concepts were from the FMW promotion in Japan, or stuff from Memphis wrestling.

Monty had a looong interview on the preshow where he basically said he's going straight to the top and is going after Samoa Joe.
