They have 6 weeks until the next PPV, so they have some time to stretch out the build up a bit.
-
It holds 4500 for hockey... they could probably get 6k or so for wrestling. Allegedly TNA had 5000 seats for this event set up. Still a pretty good crowd... ECW didn't have many times drawing more than that and it blows away anything ROH has ever ran.
-
This really means jack. TUF will be a strong lead-in for TNA and lots of shows do good ratings at 11 pm. Sure, they lose the kiddie market but it's still a much better situation than Saturday Night at 11.
-
Apparently so they can drink beer and harass Melina while she's "on trial". It's a complete joke for a publicly traded company to allow crap like this to go on.
-
It's probably Jeter, since he's one of Meltzer's buddies.
-
Allegedly the guy Keller was talking about is Scott Steiner. I'm pretty sure Meltzer is talking about Mistico, as he's a top draw in Mexico right now, and hence would be "one of the biggest stars in the world".

Online Voting is open until Sunday at Noon, go here to vote! http://register.go.com/abc/primetime/dancing/vote Da Meltz says: Although I did get this message earlier so maybe she will get enough votes to win this thing... Either way, it sounds like she's probably done with the WWE in a few months... one wonders what Vince McMahon will do with her in the interim. A dance-off against the Spirit Squad?

The One and Only Raw Thread for February 27th, 2006
Fro replied to Art Sandusky's topic in The WWE Folder
Wow... that was the most boring Raw in a long time. Just plain dull. -
She'll do okay for herself... she has "it" and her elimination was a real star-making moment that nobody else had on the show. It was a *really* genuine moment and the crowd gave her a standing O as she was talking. That's what people are going to remember from the show, not who won. Winning the contest was pretty much meaningless... being the third string guest on the Tonight Show during this week wasn't going to help her career anyway (and being the lead guest on "Jimmy Kimmel" Tuesday isn't a bad consolation prize). She already got the exposure she needed from being on a show that has over 20 million viewers, being on ET, Extra, etc.

So much for the wrestling fans voting, lol.

FWIW... online voting is open until Sunday at Noon http://register.go.com/abc/primetime/dancing/vote

And this is different from every other show where the audience votes how? I'm confused...if they vote just on who is the most well-known, how the hell did she make it THIS far? It's a combination of judges votes and audience votes. Stacy's had the highest judges vote totals for most of the contest.

This was a pretty good show... Dupree carried Miz to a good match and looks totally the same as he did in WWE now (as opposed to a month ago when he looked cracked out and flabby). Punk is really smooth now... he's learned some stuff in OVW. There was a hilarious backstage segment with Osama Alejandoro and Maria where Osama was talking about how his revolution was could to make him El Presidente of Kentucky. There was also one with the Spirit Squad where Jeter teased that he was going to dedicate winning the tournament to Matt Cappotelli, but then said he was dedicating it to the Sprit Squad. Pretty good show, overall.

Yep, you are correct. Also the "APA's butler".

I had the same feeling when watching Mikey Batts. And then...puff...he just disappeared. I don't think the same will happen to Aries, though. A lot of people have said he'll be main eventing TNA by 2007. I think that's a stretch, but I could easily see him being in Chris Daniels' or AJ's TNA positions by then. Isn't Batts in OVW now? One of the WWE dev camps. I remember thinking it was ironic because they fired Kidman, then hired Batts, who I believe is Kidman's cousin or something... he's a relative, I know that much. He's in OVW, sort of doing a Spike Dudley/Mikey Whipreck gimmick.

Another good show with a little more wrestling than the last couple weeks... AJ/Lethal and the two tag matches were both good, although nothing great due to TV time limitations.
-
I think 90 minutes is the perfect length program for them at this point in time... the two hour special seemed to drag a bit. Plus, they can still tape 2 shows per taping.
-
Awesome news... I know everyone wants more TV Time but getting a great time slot in Primetime on a weeknight is what everyone's been hoping for. Not to mention TUF3 will be a really strong show with Shamrock and Ortiz as coaches. They'll eventually get more time or at least a B-Show on Spike if things keep up.

That was a pretty good show... one of the best promos I've ever heard Sting cut. Came off really well. If you couldn't feel the emotion in that (and I'm not a Sting fan at all), you're not a wrestling fan. Of course, I read spoilers and have already had my piece with the booking decision I thought Bentley/Joe was fine... of course Bentley's selling looked goofy but it wasn't a formula Joe match at all which was fun. Abyss/Rhino was better than the PPV match. The video packages and angles really built up the PPV.

Nothing like Edge ripping off CM Punk's look

WWE notes from Da Meltz on Figure Four Daily
Fro replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
Hogan v.s. Foley would be very interesting because it'd be pretty much impossible for either of them to do their "formula" match, for various reasons. Hogan can't just kick Foley's ass for 15 minutes since Foley has to get heat on Hogan. Hogan's typical "test of strength" crap would look ridiclous trying to do it with Foley. I suppose they could use the rubber barbed wire bat and Foley could bump through a table and people would think they're seeing a classic. It'd be interesting to see who people would cheer for, as well, since Foley is pretty much the anti-Hogan. -
I think this is big enough news that it deserves its own thread. Also, Shaq isn't going to be in the Rumble or at the Rumble since he has a basketball game to play that day, so it doesn't belong in that thread. It's just promotion for the Rumble.
