It's a very valid comparison, the performer Lawler vs the performer Henry. Lawler is out there every single week adding virtually nothing to the show and being a negative factor in it. Henry's done nothing of value either but at least it's over after two minutes and after two or three weeks of that he disappears to the shelf again.

Okay, I did fail to grasp that. You obviously have empathy for the pain of others. I have none. I could care less about someone else taking offence. My empathy? It was Vince attempting to be a hip dude by speaking that there rap talk that all them youngsters are doing. The E stands for entertainment. This was (yet another feable) attempt to provide entertainment, nothing more, nothing less. Get over it.

I don't know if it's inappropriate or not, but with a tribute show for him I figured we could go with a tribute thread. Of course 1 and 1a are going to be his NWO WWE Title win, and the WM 20 ending moment with him and Benoit in the ring. Other than those, two of my favourites: During the Lie, Cheat, Steal days, his entrance at the El Paso Smackdown. I don't think I have ever heard a louder, more sustained pop. Eddie's appreciation and love really showed there. Another was during a midcard three way fued in WCW. Benoit, Malenko and Eddie were all out to get each other, with Eddie playing the con-man looking for an allegiance with one of them. Eddie and Malenko were in the ring face to face ready to square off with Eddie slightly cowering away. Unbeknownst to Malenko, Benoit jumps into the ring behind him. Eddie sees him, gives a quick "oh shit" look, then smiles and reaches out to shake Malenko's hand as Benoit comes from behind and clobbers him. A quick double beatdown ensues before Eddie turns on Benoit, and in turn gets beat on by both of them before retreating. His facial expressions, timing and delivery were classic Eddie, and were absolutely flawless. For obscure wrestling references that nobody remembers, this was is definately my all time favourite.

For a bunch of guys that I don't know in any way, shape or form, I was surprised by how much their pain affected me. You really do form a bond with wrestlers that you don't get with other entertainment.

I'd have to call this segment far worse. First, simply because it is a direct rip off of a (bad) previous segment. Second, it didn't have the one saving grace of the HHH one, that being (mild) comical value; the different Hunter faces were pretty funny. But the absolute nail in the coffin was Vince masturbating his ego throughout the whole fucking thing. There was no need for boobs to be there. We got that Vince is evil and he's degrading JR, we got it. Boobs served no purpose other than letting Vince get his jollies and show off his power once again.

I changed my signature for this gimmick.

As for Jillian, I just hope that someone gets a fucking brain in their head and realizes that a) what they've put on her face is utterly pathetic, it's not funny, it's not gross, it's just a pathetic joke to have such a cheap and obvious prop on a WWE show, and b) one of the dumbasses realizes that this is a wrestling show, not the fucking Saturday Night Live show that these piece of shit writers couldn't break in with. As much as I hated this segment, the "would you?" line was gold. That gives me some hope for MNM, just not this angle.

I was thinking the same thing. Have him come out doing the Saturday Night Fever dance and cut a promo saying how the guy who wrote his vignettes misunderstood him. That or he's The Booger Man and he'll turn out to be Bastion Booger's half brother. Hell, Vince must be on crack to think that this gimmick will fly, intentionally treating it like comedy allows some slight hope. I think his point was not to take it too seriously and he's too much of a dumbass to realize that "tongue in cheek" is for humorous sarcasm or sublty. It also ignores the fact that viewers have to ignore their knowledge that it's entertainment and have to believe in the illusion of reality. The best way to handle it is to let Hassan go with his original character. They insisted on wearing masks because they didn't want to be associated with an Arab American. He had to pay them twice as much as he should have because he's an Arab American. (If they want to address the backlash) All the prejudiced media immediately called it a terrorist attack because he's an Arab American.

To be fair, he only had a job for a few weeks and with no backstory, it wouldn't make a lot of sense for this guy to have 10K cash just lying around for his challenge. But I do agree with everyone, 1000 bucks, while I would definately prefer it in my pocket over yours, doesn't mean a damn thing in this day and age.
