Didn't Children of Men just come out? Maybe it's just a case of "too late" to make an impression since all the movies nominated here have been out longer or had buzz dating over a year ago (especially Departed and Dreamgirls). It came out before Letters and Letters is a best picture nom. Both were out in time to be eligible Requirements from AMPAS I don't know why you posted that. Both Letters From Iwo Jima and Children of Men came out in December 2006 so obviously they're eligible for the 2007 (2006) oscars. I was only pointing out that Children of Men came out before Letters From Iwo Jima because Hawk 34 was wondering if Children of Men didn't have enough time to make an impression due to its late release date.

And no matter what the film proposes to say, it is blatantly clear that England here is meant to be the United States..straight down to the close-ups of anti-Iraq articles and "Bush" with a red blood x through it. The immigrant protection was even called "Homeland Security." I think you're right, but all of those articles & clippings also just showed that Michael Cane's character was an old left-wing activist. 20 years from now, opposition to the Iraq war will probably we somewhat akin to the way we view opposition to Vietnam today. Did that make sense? My finocee asked me today,

It would have been fine if the blood splatters hadn't mysteriously disappeared halfway through the shot, thus revealing the fact that it wasn't actually a continuous single shot but actually two (or more) digitally edited together to look like one. It was one continuous shot. Cuaron yelled cut when the blood got onto the camera but an explosion went off at the same time so no one heard him and the scene just continued. He liked the effect but then thought it got too distracting so had it digitally removed after a while. The scene in the car is the one that was edited together from separate shots.

Best movies that didn't actually exist
AmericanDragon replied to Atticus Chaos's topic in Television & Film
From AICN: (Stallone answering a question about Arnold) "The idea of working with Arnold came up twice - one was with John Hughes, and it was about a pair of neighbors that were determined to destroy one another with their back-and-forth everyday vendettas. It was based on an incident that actually happened with me and a neighbor named Vin Scully, the voice of the Dodgers. That didn’t work out." "The second was about a pair of undercover cops that had to go into the world of femme fatales - by dressing in wigs and dresses - to expose a serial killer. Can you imagine us two mugs trying to pass ourselves off as even semi-attractive women? You’d be better off drawing a face on the south end of a north-bound bulldog." -

Hughes doesn't even make more than 100k per fight. -
http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/thefountain/trailer1/ I'm going to post the trailer for The Prestige again too. I don't know why my last topic on it didn't get any replies at all. It's Nolan, Bale, Jackman, Caine, Johansson, Bowie, and Serkis god damnit. http://www.apple.com/trailers/touchstone/theprestige/

Yes, I know about the battle of Thermopylae. But why would someone say Miller based his graphic novel on the film "The 300 Spartans" when it's pretty damn likely that Miller based it on the actual battle itself? 300 the book and the film looks nothing like "The 300 Spartans." So the creators of "The 300 Spartans" did write the story? You said you already knew about the actual battle of Thermopylae so I don't know what you're trying to say.
-
Yeah, picked it up in a Wal-Mart bargain bin for like 6 bucks. Apparently it's Miller's inspiration for The 300? That's what I heard, so it could be pure conjecture. How does that look like Miller's inspiration for 300 in any way?

Somehow do what Ignashov did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEO_PMZeWRU edit: Seeing Ignashov lose in other fights is just painful. He's one of the most talented fighters out there. -

That one wasn't even a clean hit. Go look for Crocop's fight against Igor Vovchanchyn. -

Those kicks CroCop landed on Hunt were absolutely disgusting. Given that everybody goes down to the LHK and Hunt stood up to it makes me think that you might be wrong about this. Cro Cop's foot was injured when they fought in Pride, hence the shoes. Watch their K-1 fight to see Hunt go down hard from the high kick. He got back up, but he wasn't the same for the remainder of the fight, even in the postfight comments! But he also ducked into the one in their K-1 fight. -

Yeah I thought it was hilarious when they showed that it was Randy having the dream and not Stan. It's not like I didn't expect it either, it was just hilarious.

Where the hell are you getting 10-7 rounds from? That's not even a possible score.
