opening of Happiness of the Katakuris (download)
AmericanDragon replied to AmericanDragon's topic in Television & Film
It's the opening to a musical directed by Takashi Miike. I just saw Gozu the other day and that movie is fucked up. It's Miike being David Lynch, and it's just bizarre. So far I've seen Fudoh, Audition, Ichi the Killer, Gozu, Visitor Q, and Dead or Alive. I'm hoping to see the rest of Happiness of the Katakuris, Izo, and Zebraman this week. -
Don't disturb my friend. He's dead tired.

Oh yeah and Rocky ending the Cold War. In real life they probably would have shot him just like we probably would have done if a Russian fighter came here during the Cold War, beat our best fighter, and then told us we can change.

This doesn't really have anything to do with the topic but I always wanted Bane to get brass knuckles type weapons made out of kryptonite and then beat the shit out of Superman. -

10 minutes of Batman Begins footage

The second movie will probably develop the friendship between Batman, Gordon, and Dent so when Dent becomes Two-Face in the third, he's not just some random guy you see in a short clip like in Batman Forever. -

No. That's not it at all. That's pretty much the opposite of what every person on the production wanted. I thought if that's what they were trying to do they'd have used the Joker and just said "those other movies never happened". That is what they're doing. The Joker is going to be in the sequel with Two-Face in the third movie. -

I'm not concerned with his running speed, I'm talking about his total body movement. He runs fast, but he has to struggle to get over the ledge onto the rooftop. I can't imagine body armor would allow someone to be flexible and lightweight enough to do the kinds of fighting Batman's supposed to be able to do. ...I didn't see him struggle in any part of the video. I only brought up running speed because that's something that people complained about in the first four films and also in the Smallville footage. His suit is just basically a thicker version of Spiderman's. -

I saw a clip of Bale's stunt double running across and off of a building in the suit. He didn't have the cape though. He looked pretty damn fast. edit: found the link, bitch http://abclocal.go.com/images/wls/video/0807bman.rm -

Here are some renderings of Gotham from the Art of Batman Begins book. And a shot of Bruce on his first night out in the pre-Batman suit. -
Bruce Wayne...why are you dressed up like Batman?

What are some great movies you've never seen?
AmericanDragon replied to CBright7831's topic in Television & Film
Well you're out of your element then. -
That's exactly my complaint about the four "Batman" movies. If you just forget that they're supposed to be about Batman, and just enjoy the villains' performances, then they're pretty good. But I don't see how they're really Batman movies. Begins looks like it's going to change that by truly being about Batman and not the villains. edit: Oh yeah, in the first Batman movie, the public witnessed the Joker murder somebody...and then they let him go host a parade? That's on the same level as rocket launching penguins for me.

If I had to pick a "favorite" Batman then mine would be Val Kilmer too.
-
That's an...interesting...way of evaluating films you got there. Well I'd actually give each of the four films a 0/10 because none of them were entertaining. But if you forced me to pick one Batman film to watch, I'd watch Batman and Robin just for Arnold's cheesy one liners. Burton's films are just awful and not entertaining at all. I really don't see how people can sit through the first two Batman movies. edit: In my opinion, Batman TAS is the best interpretation of Batman outside of the comics and graphic novels. It even has the best music. My posts make me sound like a Burton/Elfman hater but I really can't understand why people like Burton movies or Elfman's music. The most positive thing people say about Burton's movies is that he creates atmosphere, and that's about it. Elfman's themes are always very loud and over the top. Batman was actually one of my favorite movies as a kid. Then I actually sat down and watched Batman 1989 in its entirety a couple years ago. It's just plain boring. I don't get what all the praise is about. Most fans of the movie probably just have clouded memories of a supposed "great" film.

Commando is the best film for Arnold's one liners. Ledoffsum STEEM...BENNETT!!

I actually like Batman and Robin more than any of Burton's two films simply because it's Arnold doing one liners. I don't even think of the four as Batman films.
