Weaver was a fairly promising pitcher when he was with the Tigers. Once he got to NY though he was just horrible. I'd take a chance on him reverting back to his Detroit Tiger form by just entering in the Cubs clubhouse. It has to be a more laid back clubhouse then in NY with guys like Roger Clemens and Mike Mussina walking around and your supposed to live up to your greatness. You're right Juan Cruz is a pretty good pitcher. I'd sooner see him in the bullpen though because god knows the cubs need someone good in the bullpen. Hell if they got Weaver throw him in the Bullpen.

They need to use Mike Williams instead of Jose Mesa then because lately its been over 50% chance that he's going to give up somewhere between 1-3 runs. I'm all for the Phills I just hope that Mesa doesn't cost them to many games that they should've won because they had him in when they should have had Williams in.

WNBA player charged with sexual assault
SteakGrowsOnUecker replied to OldSchoolWrestling's topic in Sports
hmm...she was with three other guys. It had to be our favorite NBA sexual offenders in Ruben Patterson, Deshawn Stevenson, and Kobe Bryant. -
Hey if you bid now for an extra $200 dollars they'll throw in Jesse Orosco! Now its upto 72 bids and is $15,000. I wouldn't mind seeing Jeff show up to the Cubs. That'd get Shawn Estes the hell out of here. And he can get shipped back to New York.

My sentimental pick is the Marlins because I love everything that Dontrelle is doing but I think the Phills are going to get paste them in the long run. Pat Burrell and Placido Polanco are absolutely red hot right now, as well as Thome with that HR he blasted a few nights ago. The main problem with the Phillies is their bullpen. Jose Mesa has looked like a train wreck recently, which brought back freightening memories of Wild Thing Mitch Williams. They did get Mike Williams from the Pirates but his ERA is astronomical too. The Marlins have the same issue though with Urbina the other night blowing a save. If Dontrelle doesn't get out of his small slump that he's been in the past couple of games, than the rest of the team might follow suit with him.

Sportscenter is an HOUR long. If you can't tune into it for more then the first 30 seconds of the show then thats your problem. They give all of the playoff races fair coverage. If you watched the Sportscenter behind the scences a few weeks ago they showed that when something signficant like the Bill Mueller grandslams from both sides of the plate happen they're going to give it big coverage because thats what the viewers want. They're are plenty of sports shows that cover the playoff races more indepthly. Watch Baseball Tonight. They can go more indepth then sportscenter because they don't have to waste time with showing highlights to whatever WNBA bore-a-thon was on. Its your loss if you don't really care about Barry Bonds and his homeruns. I care and I'll continue to care if he hits 900 homeruns. The reason why they don't care about F1 is because the same 5 guys win every race.

Its a shame the A's waited so long to call up Rich Harden, from the minors. This kid is amazing. He's 3-1 with a 1.69 ERA in 32 Innings Pitched. He beat the Royals when they were still hot and his only loss came to the White Sox on Sunday. He had 8 strike outs in 5.0 I.P. in that game. Just amazing stuff. If he would have played more games this season he would have hands down won the AL ROY. I'm not going to say that Rich Harden had the potential to win the AL CY because Loazia was winning games on the White Sox when they were pure grabage this year. If the white sox wouldn't have struggled earlier in the year giving him 0-1 no decessions then he'd have even more wins Give it up to Rich Harden though

Pete Rose signed agreement to come back?
SteakGrowsOnUecker replied to The Ghost of bps21's topic in Sports
Actually if you conduct a poll on baseball fans that are well versed in the entire Pete Rose situation you'll find that the majority of them don't think he should be in the hall of fame. Sure if you poll some beered up fans at a Reds game they'd think he should be in it. The Dowd Report was 100% accurate. Unless Pete Rose has fingerprints that change then I don't see how you could possibly question the validity of that investigation. If Rose was having some other disagreement with the Commissioner at the time then he's just even more of a dumbass. That's like going out and taking a pipe to a police officers car while he's still in it. Rose breeched his contract when he broke the rule that stated that betting on the game will not be tolerated. By him betting on his own game and a sport that so much of America has a deep passion for Rose basically said to the fans and his fellow players, "Hey Fuck You, I'm bigger then the game." The bottom line is while Rose is alive he'll only get to be in the hall of fame if he takes a tour of it as a fan. -
What WWE superstar are you?

I actually like Vanilla Pepsi! Usually I hate Pepsi with a deep passion but the vanilla makes it good.

Pete Rose signed agreement to come back?
SteakGrowsOnUecker replied to The Ghost of bps21's topic in Sports
So because Rose has 4,256 hits he is allowed to break rules? You can't bend the rules for one player just because he is better than another player. If a guy had 4 career hits or 4,000 career hits if he breaks the rules he's gone. Thats all there is to it. I'm a huge Cal Ripken Jr. fan. But if he would have did the same thing as Rose I would have felt the same way about the individual being banned. -
I would definetly buy the WresteMania DVD box set. I've been waiting for this for a long time because I'm just sick of seeing them in VHS and those tapes are starting to wear out anyways. It's going to really expensive though. It'd probably end up being around $300 maybe more.

When the first show the ring behind HHH in the commercial one of the guys looks like RVD. But it could be Kanyon because of the pony tail. HHH holds RVD down in commercials now!

I should join this clique so I can get "over" with the bored. As long as we can hold down all of the other cliques HHH style then count me in.

Obviously if Bonds blows out his knee theres no chance at him getting the record. But he's still doing remarkable things that I'd much rather see on Sportscenter than the next girl that Kobe is raping.

Pete Rose signed agreement to come back?
SteakGrowsOnUecker replied to The Ghost of bps21's topic in Sports
So your saying you want Rose to get in because the MLB broke the contract. Which in your eyes makes him betting null and void. I'm sure a player like Cal Ripken Jr., who worked hard and was a law abiding player, would be so proud to be inducted in the Hall with a guy that gets in through a loop hole. Maybe if old Petey boy wouldn't have broke the rule there wouldn't have been any need for a contract. Hmm...what a concept. Not breaking the rules. -
I like Sosa a lot but he's not putting out enough offense. The Cubs are lucky to get 4 runs a game so he's not helping all that much. Bond's put up good numbers but when doesn't he? Its Pujols season. He's played good all year. And now he's on a 27 game hitting streak. I'm giving it to him for being the ebst all year.

41-41?? They lost Michael O. Though he wasn't great he's a lot better then the rookie Sofoklis "Don't Call Me Baby Shaq" Schortsanitis. They lost Andre Miller. Marko Jaric is good but he's no Andre Miller yet. They lost Piatkowski, thats 10 pts a game that won't be there. Scoring wise they just have Richardson and Brand. And Brand has been proven to not do no more then a 20 pts 10 rebs a game. Those are good numbers but he isn't a team player and doesn't make anyone around him better. And there bench is so bad they should be in slam ball. My prediction 19-63

Pete Rose signed agreement to come back?
SteakGrowsOnUecker replied to The Ghost of bps21's topic in Sports
You forgot this one: 4. Broke the rule that stated betting against the game is punishable by permanent expulsion from the game Agreements are broken all the time anyways. Just because an agreement is broken doesn't automatically elevate the person who got shafted by the agreement to god-like status. -
No Bonds home run is meaningless. You're watching history being made because he's going to hit 800 home runs. Simple as that. If you like him or not that doesn't change the fact that he's one of the top 5 players ever. Bask in his greatness and enjoy.
