I'm wondering if the president's speech tonight is going to pre-empt HIMYM in the East. If there's any kind of talking head analysis after the speech, there may not be anything on until 9:00.

All I could think of as I watched that replay was how badly Alfredsson fucked that play up. He may as well have taken off his red jersey and waved it at Pominville, as much as he waved him past like a matador does to a bull. Congrats to the Sabres. They were the better team this series -- they handled the pressure light-years better than the Senators did. Now what? I think at this point you have to point to some of the players and say they're not getting the job done. As great as Alfredsson was in the regular season -- and he was a Hart Trophy candidate -- he was virtually invisible in the postseason. I think he may be permanently scarred by all the postseason failures here. He may need to be traded.

Overtime in an elimination game is the most stressful thing in sports. One shot, and your season could be over just like that.

Why can't they win more than 2 in a row? I don't think they've won 3 straight all year so far. Just once. They've had so many chances to sweep series, and they haven't done that yet, either. They should be leading this division, but they can't put together a winning streak. Of course, some of that is due to the fact that Josh Towers hasn't won one fucking game yet this season.
