How many World champs turned during their reign?
CanadianChris replied to Dandy's topic in General Wrestling
Please don't ever mention this again. -
And another false start.
-
Inconclusive most likely. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The replays they showed on TV seemed pretty conclusive to me, moreso than many others I've seen used to overturn calls. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I didn't see a single replay that showed -- without a doubt, mind you -- that no part of his trail foot touched the ground. That was the problem.

I don't think there's any "might" about it. OSU would be a solid fourth in that case. But, I give Florida State about as much chance of beating Tech as I would give Temple.

Colorado's Steve Konowalchuk is out for the season: http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=2238494

What hit? Damn it...watching games on ESPN.com sucks!! F U direct TV!!!!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Shockey just got levelled on the TD catch. It was pretty sick looking.
-
That hit should be #1 on Jacked Up tomorrow night.

Giants FG, 7-3 Seattle. How are the Seahawks not leading by 20 right now?
-
ANOTHER false start. This is insane.

Some of the bowl forecasters have Oregon going to the Fiesta Bowl over Ohio State. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Really? That would surprise the hell out of me.
-
Yeah, it was StL -3.5.

Well, that seals my four-team teaser. Sad thing was, all the teams I picked (KC, Carolina, St. Louis and Tennessee) ended up covering without the tease, so if I'd parlayed it instead of playing a teaser, I would've cashed in huge. Oh well, shouldn't complain about a winning bet...

Yeah, that's one thing that's always bothered me about the bowl system and the Pac 10. They don't have any second-tier bowl affiliations on the level of a Gator Bowl or Cotton Bowl.

Savage on Hogan at The Main Event in 1989. Flair on Sting in 1991 (when he kicked Sting out of the Horsemen following the 45-minute draw at Clash 1), and again in 1994 (during their World title unification match). -
It wouldn't make any difference even if the rankings were flipped. Oregon is not getting into a BCS bowl no matter what happens now, since Notre Dame is BCS-eligible and they will never be passed over by the BCS bowls.

Chargers win. LT broke one in OT.
-
Worse, they were up 10 with 30 seconds left and had the Rams facing 4th down.
-
What, we don't get to pick that scintillating Middle Tennessee State-Florida International game?
-
Orton = Trent Dilfer circa 2000. Decent but not good, but usually won't do anything to take you right out of the game.

17.5 points is a lot of points to giving away for a team that had only had one win of that size all year.

I'll bet the guy rooting though it was pissed.

In no order whatsoever... Hogan/Andre - spawned the biggest money match of all time at the biggest live event of all time, and continued on for another year and a half doing huge business and carrying Savage and DiBiase into the main event. Austin/McMahon - literally saved the company. Its importance cannot be underestimated, as it produced some good matches (notably the Dude Love match from Over The Edge 98) and fantastic TV that pushed it past WCW once again. Hogan/Savage - probably the best angle they've ever done, from start to finish. Adding the Zeus stuff after WM5 was unnecessary, but from the handshake on SNME at the end of 1987 to the breakup on the Main Event in February 1989 to Megapowers Explode blowoff at WM5, this angle was legendary. Hogan/Orndorff - these two drew more money than anyone else in the 80s, including Hogan/Andre. A ridiculously hot feud that culminated in not one, but TWO blowoff matches (at the Big Event in Toronto, and their SNME cage match). HHH/Foley - these two had a great feud in 1997 that led to some really good matches, but no one remembers them because of the fantastic pair of matches they had in 2000. This was the feud that put HHH over for good as a main-eventer, which makes it pretty historic. Austin/Rock - these two are the faces of the Attitude Era. One fantastic match at WMX-7, plus tons of great TV, particularly during their IC title feud in 1997. Austin/Hart - produced three terrific matches (Survivor Series 96, WMXIII, Canadian Stampede), and (as seems to always be the case with Austin pre-2002) great TV, with tons of memorable moments, being the focal point of the great Hart Foundation angle. Savage/Steamboat - produced some of the most memorable moments of 1987, from Savage crushing Steamboat's throat with the bell to Steamboat's return on Superstars, and the greatest match of all time up to that point. Savage/Flair - considering these two weren't even supposed to feud, they had a great feud throughout the middle of 1992, with the awesome "She was mine before she was yours" angle heading into their great match at WMVIII, and the equally awesome "Whose corner is Mr. Perfect in?" angle going into the Savage/Warrior match at SummerSlam 92. Hogan/Piper - if I were going to rank these, this one would be last because it was never properly blown off, but since this is the feud that catapulted the WWF into the mainstream and headlined the first WrestleMania, it has to be mentioned. Piper was just ridiculously good with his mic work.

On TV for me this week: Pats/Chiefs Panthers/Bills Bears/Bucs Giants/Seahawks Man, I miss Sunday Ticket. Not that it matters any, but Warren Sapp has been placed on IR and will miss the rest of the season.
