Yup, Clint Barmes: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2077547

I think he was the guy (Griese) that fell over his dog actually.

I'd like to see the Pistons post up whomever is being guarded by Parker.

Woman on cell gets pulled over doesn't listen.
Crimson Platypus replied to MrRant's topic in General Chat
The bottom line is that she broke the law. She was speeding, and someone in this thread said she had a suspended license? Sorry, you break the law you lose your rights as a citizen. She got tasered? Boo fucking hoo. Don't drive on a suspended license, and for fucks sake why are you speeding when your license is suspended?? To top it all off the idiot then ignores the cop and makes a cell phone call. I say she got what she deserved. -
Is that directed to me? If so, it's because I detest racism & prejudice, regardless of which side is hating on the other. And, Ripper, do you think Bonds never said that and it didn't happen at all, or that he said it and the scenario just didn't play out the way that Kittle described? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think both are equally probable. I think there is little to no chance that it happened the way that Kittle described. Barry saying it or not...I could see someone saying something like that in the heat of a argument. I also know that Barry Bonds is a easy target, a big name, and people always like to report dirt on him, so if I was writting a book I would tell the story about the time I walked outside and caught Barry Bonds raping my cat. And I am sure I amnot the only one that sees this marketing stragedy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly. Like my imagined conversation put it, I doubt that it played out the way Kittle said it did. Am I saying it's okay for Barry to say "I don't sign things for white people"? No, of course not. Do I think Barry is some kind of racist because of this story? No, of course not. As Ripper said, I think that people are so quick to jump on the Barry Hatewagon that they won't look at things like this objectively. Instead it's all "Barry's such an asshole, blah blah blah same story 345 times." It gets old don't you think?

One and Only Star Wars Geekiness Thread
Crimson Platypus replied to Black Lushus's topic in Television & Film
With different actors sure. My main problem with Ep III was the complete and total lack of any kind of chemistry between Christensen and Portman. R2D2 showed more emotion then those two when they were on screen. It was really painful to watch. I don't even think it was the script (although it was cheesy), rather they just simply didn't mesh well at all. -
Why do you care so much?
-
Yeah I imagine the conversation was more like: Kittle: "Hey Barry, could you sign these jerseys for me?" Bonds: "Man I just got done playing ball, I'm tired and need to get out of here, maybe later." Kittle: "Come on man, it's uh... for kids with cancer.. or something" Bonds: "Look man, leave me alone, I'm not in the mood." Kittle: "Dude it's just a signature, for the kids you know." Bonds: "Fuck off man." Kittle: "What, don't you care about kids?" Bonds, irritated all to hell: "No, I just don't sign shit for whites." He was probably just in a bad mood (I wonder if they lost the game) and said that because Kittle was pestering him to sign stuff "for the kids".

If I was married to Claudia Schiffer she'd never leave the bedroom. Nor would she have clothes on. Ever. Fuck directing movies.
-
Yeah, that is funny.

Infinitely better? The Spurs are shooting 46% in the playoffs, and Detroit is shooting 43%. If 3% is infinitely better I'm Jesus Christ.

What would be the point of lying?

Is Passions the one with the crazy kid/midget/doll or whatever it was?

The last time I watched Tyson fight was when he bit Holyfield's ear, and that will remain the last time.

The "What Are You Reading Right Now" Thread
Crimson Platypus replied to 1234-5678's topic in Literature
Just started reading "Moneyball". Interesting so far, I had no idea Billy Beane was so highly regarded coming out of H.S. -
No love for Alan Anderson? I think he could end up being a better pro than he ever was in college. His only drawback might be that his is only 6'6ish and might end up with the dreaded "tweener" label.

"The First Ladies of Wrestling" doc

Why is Bill Cosby in it? -
I'd say my favorite sports moment from a "sport" that I don't like would be when that one hillbilly made a right instead of a left that one time and died. The best part was how all the other hicks got all sad and built shrines to him with his number on them and put his number on their cars and stuff like that. The number was 8, think his name was Earnhard or something like that.

I remember him. A good one to bring up for this topic. He was supposed to be awesome, but never developed at all. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wasn't Mamula on 'roids? I know that he was drafter uber-high because of his amazing combine, but I thought that it was generally believed that he was on the juice, which is why he was all of a sudden able to jump higher & further, run faster, lift more weight, etc. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't believe he ever tested positive for roids actually. Some guys just test really well but the workouts never translate to the game. I've seen a couple mentions of Mateen Cleaves, I still think he can be a productive NBA 6th or 7th man somewhere if given the chance. He won't score a ton of points, but as a pure point guard theres no way anyone can convince me that he's not good enough to play 15-20 minutes a game. For whatever reason I thought Kyle Boller would be a good-great NFL QB. Hell I still think with the right people around him he could be productive. (and yes, I know I'm wrong)

Um, I'm about that, and I'm a thin girl. I'm pretty well all muscle, but yeah, I'd consider 5'8 150lbs borderline scrawny. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm thinking most guys are bigger than I. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah that doctor is full of shit. I'm 5'9 and I weigh 220. My doctor said that I am about 30 pounds overweight. I do have a thick build, broad shoulders and all that, so I am going to weigh more than someone with a more slight one. But an adult male 5'8 weighing 140 lbs is skinny as fuck. I weighed that when I was 16. Back on topic, bad drivers in general irritate the piss outta me. If you are not speeding on the highway, get the fuck to the right. Also, watch your rearview mirror and if someone is coming up behind you FAST (compared to your speed) while you pass a semi, SPEED UP UNTIL YOU PASS THE TRUCK. Fucking idiots.
