News on HeartThrobs, Gangrel, Stevie, and more
Crimson Platypus replied to JoeDirt's topic in The WWE Folder
I really don't see what the problem with this is. He wants more money because he has been on television, which should lead to greater exposure, leading to more people showing up for the show. Makes sense to me. -
Right, it's not so much that there are more hot chicks, it's just that more attractive chicks dress really slutty/skanky now. Thanks Brittany!

George Mikan dying and the NBA wont do anything
Crimson Platypus replied to syxx2001's topic in Sports
...who doesn't know how to do math? Mikan's pension is 20,000 a year. 10 X 10,000 = 100,000 That would be *five* times his pension, kid. If you're going to insult someone's intelligence at least have your own facts straight. Good stuff. Of course, I never double checked his math either. Damn you math *shakes fist* -
Probably hit a transformer drum, that would do it for sure.

George Mikan dying and the NBA wont do anything
Crimson Platypus replied to syxx2001's topic in Sports
First of all, yeah I can't do math at all. Second of all he's not just "an old man who used to play basketball". He's an old man who is suffering greatly due to a debilitating disease and the lack of the financial means to get the care that he needs. Third of all, I don't give two shits about starving kids in Africa. Here's an idea, move. -
George Mikan dying and the NBA wont do anything
Crimson Platypus replied to syxx2001's topic in Sports
Oh I never meant to say that anyone, be it the NBA or the players or the NBAPA should HAVE to pay for anything. It's not like that. It's about doing the right thing for a person who is suffering because you have the means to do so. If 20 players ponied up $10k that would almost equal Mikan's entire year's worth of pension. Now is $10k a lot? Sure. But were talking about multi-millionaires here. -
Cuban thinks they officiate teams differently. I think both are correct. Because it was funny watching Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson getting called for offensive fouls in the post on Sunday and Shaq not getting called for the same thing. In the same instance, I think that you hit a guy like Iverson with the same force you hit Shaq, one is a foul the other isn't called. I have no problems with refs missing calls and such, as they are human, but I do have a problem with obvious bias. That is what i think that Jeff is having a problem with. But 100,000 is ridiculous. See I've always said that Shaq's move where he puts his shoulder into a guy, knocks them 5 feet away and dunks uncontested is, and should be an offensive foul. I don't know the exact wording, but I'm pretty sure the rule is that you can not go through a player who has an established position. Which is exactly what Shaq does. My brother has always argued that because Shaq is so strong it shouldn't be a foul. So does that mean that Rasheed Wallace could just shove Iverson out of his way every time he goes to the basket?

I like this quote from Cuban: "They don't officiate individual players differently" Cuban wrote. Utter bullshit.

When a person is hired by Denny's they then become a representative of said company. That's why Denny's is responsible. Note, I don't think this is worth $28 million.

One and Only Star Wars Geekiness Thread
Crimson Platypus replied to Black Lushus's topic in Television & Film
I hated that fight so much because they pulled a Darth Maul by taking an obviously bad ass character and wacking him like it was nothing. I understand Windu is like 2nd to the top of the Jedi order, but Jango wasn't no damn slouch...Maul doesn't even get a mention anymore and the dude was just plain sick... I agree, but I hated how easily Maul was dispatched in TPM more. Here's this badass who fought off both Qui-Gon AND Obi-Wan for how long? Then Obi just busts his ass easily with a little force flip? Lame. -

Seriously though, I can't imagine there's 1000 people in the US that don't know that. -

George Mikan dying and the NBA wont do anything
Crimson Platypus replied to syxx2001's topic in Sports
You would think that a few current NBA stars would recognize the impact that Mikan had on the game and pony up, but 80+% of them are spoiled bastards who don't give a shit about anyone but themselves. -
That doesn't make it okay.

It absolutely blows my mind that Marvel would try to screw Stan Fucking Lee out of his share of the profits from movies based on characters the he created. What a bunch of assholes.

That should have nothing to do with it. The bottom line is that hockey is a violent sport. Was it a cheap shot? Yes. Does anyone think that Bertuzzi's intent was to paralyze Moore? I sincerely hope not. That is the main thing that I think people need to consider when they say things like "Bertuzzi should be out until Moore comes back" or whatever. It was a freak accident during the course of a cheap shot. He's paid his penalty and it's time for him to be reinstated. By the way, does anyone think that he doesn't feel guilty about it? I'd be willing to bet that he does.

Yeah my buddy's father-in-law is a mechanic. I get all my repairs at parts cost + 6-pack of Bud-Light. Pretty cheap really. -

I made a mix CD for a girl.
Crimson Platypus replied to Modern Man's Hustle's topic in No Holds Barred
I'd rather listen to a mix CD than most of the CDs that I own. I have a 10 disc changer in my car and all 10 discs are mix CDs. It's the only thing I listen to while driving since Sports Talk sucks these days and music is just horrid. -

Yes yes yes yes. It's called setting the bar low. This way you can avoid that dumb shit Ripper's talking about here. For example: You buy her roses on her birthday, so what do you do for your anniversary? Gotta buy something nicer since that means more. What about Christmas? Gotta spend more money. Now guess what? Her birthday is coming up soon, do you think she forgot what you gave her last year? HELL NO and you better top it this year. By the way, your anniversary is coming up, etc, etc, etc. By doing the things Ripper said, telling her she looks hot in an outfit, jumping into the shower with her and sticking it to her out of the blue, etc, you end up saving a ton of money and plenty of grief in the long run.
